1. Next Step
Treatment
Center
Our missionis to save lives by giving individuals with
addiction problems the tools to succeedshowing
them how to make better choices for a more positive
outcome. It doesn’t matter what backgroundor
culture you are from we are here to help you. Drugs
doesn’t discriminate andneither do we.
2. Some political, economical, and technological
issues my treatment center may come across
could be......
My clients worrying about confidentiality because
a lot of people with substance abuse problems
often have issues with legal troubles and this can
prevent them from getting the help they need due
to this fear. Transportation can also be an issue
with clients. If they don’t have a way to get back
and forth to the treatment center they may not
show up at all. Another issue can be housing
because if the clients can not afford some where
to live then they probably will not be as worried
about getting treatment. Something else that can
be a factor would be not having medical insurance
and its to expensive to pay out of pocket.
3. Culture and Diversity and how it can impact my
treatment center.
Culture and diversity canimpact my treatment center
because ifthe human service worker is not trainedin the
area of diversity and is aware of the differentbeliefs and
preferences due to religion, sexualorientation, or cultural
backgroundthen they will not be as likely to understandthe
clients and will not be able to help them to the fullest. The
clients canhave differentways they understand health or
sickness, the clients could be fearfulof treatment because
of certainbeliefs they may have, the clients may not be able
to speak very good English sothis cancause issues with
communication. There is a variety of differentthings with
culture and diversitythat can impact a treatmentcenter.
4. Organizational
Theory
The organizational theory I will use is the
functional theory. I chose the functional
theory because there are different
departments in the treatment center and
in each one of the departments the
individuals who work in them specialize in
one thing. For example, we will have the
department with the clinicians, the
therapists, the case managers, and the
receptionists. They are put together based
on specific skills and the knowledge they
have. As for these four positions ranked
number one is the therapist, number two is
the case manager, number three is the
clinician, and last is the receptionist.
5. Line-Item budget for one year
Clinicians-37k –73 yearly ,therapist-38k-100k yearly, case manager 42,813 yearly, receptionist-47,091 yearly.
Toilet paper -100$ wkly 1200$ yearly
Hand soap –25$ wkly 300$ yearly
Sanitizer- 25$ wkly 300$ yearly
Snacks, Coffee, and Cleaning Supplies- 1000$ for first week then 500$ wkly comes to 6,500 yearly
Electricity-300$ monthly 3,600$ yearly
Water-300$ monthly 3,600$ yearly
Phone and Internet 160$ 1,920 yearly
Office Supplies, Tvs, Projectors, and computers- 6,000$ to start
7,500$ in a feasibility study to help me know what kind of care is most needed where I open my treatment center
5,000$ for marketing
6. Information I will need to document
Licensing just to even open my treatment center and if I wanted to have
any clients as residential then I will need to do zoning as well. I will need to
have my business plan documented that way when I go to the investors
and to the bank I have what I need to show them. I will need to have a
professional website to promote my treatment center. So I will need my
marketing plan and I will also need my budget. Once my treatment center
is up and running the clinicians will have to document treatment plans and
client information. The receptionist will need to document appointment
times. The case managers will need to document resources to be able to
help clients with. I will need to document policy and procedures manual. I
will need to have documentation of all the employees with their
information. I will need to have all their work goals and accomplishments
on file. I will basically need HR documentation and all of my billing set up
to keep track of my payments that I have already made and that I still need.
7. How will I Evaluate my program and Employees
I will need to monitor my program, see where there is progress or
regression, and track my results. I will need to review these results on a
regular basis. Seeing where there is improvement or no improvement
during these evaluations will help me to know what is working and what is
not effective. I will make sure to set goals and things I want to see happen
with the program. After doing this I will design different strategies to make
these goals happen. I can come up with different assessment methods.
Doing this is how I will measure the progress with the program. I will need
to make sure that Iam gathering as much data as possible, look over my
data, and interpret my data. Each time I have these results I will use them
to improve ways we do things and making the outcomes better. During this
time I will be gathering both qualitative and quantitative data because I will
be using numbers with statistics to have evidence-based programs and
also personally getting opinions of the clients of what works best for them
what they found the most beneficial. Listening to how they perceive things
due to their own past and experiences so I can better understand them. I
will evaluate my employees by having them set their own personal work
goals and working torward them daily.
