This 3 credit course taught by Gabriel J. Wigington on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11AM to 12PM focuses on teaching strategies for reframing thought processes and language to reduce stress levels. Students will discuss practical skills for switching from negative to positive responses in conversations and events through affirmation statements and exploring the brain-body connection to stress and interpersonal conflicts. The course objectives are to practice reframing scenarios, understand the psychology-physiology link to stress responses, assess situations for reframing, discover personal triggers of elevated stress, and learn to navigate difficult conversations using "GEMS."
