Fat and muscle are two different types of tissue in the body. Fat tissue stores energy and is composed of cells that contain lipid droplets, while muscle tissue is made up of cells that contract to cause movement and is composed of fibers that contain contractile proteins. These two tissues serve very different functions in the body despite both being composed of multiple cells grouped together.
