Importance of Job Roles (TV)
 When working in TV it's important to stick to the rules and regulations when something is being
commissioned. One of these specific rules include paying attention to the watershed put in place
on nearly every broadcasting channel. For example, the producer's job is to oversee all aspects of
creation and video production so it would be ideal for them to know at which times
programming should start. (According to Televisual's 20th salary survey "it is possible to earn
a decent salary earning about £45,000 a year".)
 For a script writer/editor their main focus is making sure what when they come up with ideas for
a new tv show that everybody is on board with thei ideas otherwise the
show won't get commsioned . A script editor usually works specifically within dramas and
comedies and closely with writers offering them encourangment and making sure the scripts are

Importance of Job Roles (Radio)
 On average a radio broadcasting assistant will be earning £18,000 - £29,000 a year. Some jobs in
radio are very important and can determine whether the station stays on the air, these jobs
include the general manager. Their job is to be responsible for the performance of the
radio station for example on a smaller station they would help with admin and accounting
matters but at bigger stations they have staff to do this for them.
 Another important role at a radio station is the radio engineer, they maintain the equipment used
during the radio broadcasts and make sure the systems are functionally properly. They are

Importance of Job Roles (Games)
 In the gaming industry every job role is important because anything could go wrong at any time
especially when coding. This is why supervisors and teams of coders and animators are
important because they can work together to solve any issues that might come about, it is also
why the directors and producers are important too because they help manage these
departments.
