Best practices to assess and enhance brain function via mobile devices and ...SharpBrains
The document discusses best practices for assessing and enhancing brain function using mobile devices and wearables. It summarizes presentations from several speakers at a conference on this topic. Corinna Lathan discussed a mobile reaction time testing system called DANA that can help detect neurocognitive impairment. Eddie Martucci discussed his company Akili's approach of making medicine more engaging through digital games. Alex Doman talked about how wearables can provide personalized sleep reporting. Joan Severson presented on her company's BrainBaseline platform, which integrates cognitive performance measures with lifestyle data to track brain health over time.
Acelacare aims to provide do-it-yourself healthcare through a mobile platform. The platform would allow users to self-diagnose and treat common medical conditions using connected diagnostic devices without visiting a doctor. It was founded by Patricia Salber, an experienced healthcare entrepreneur, and Akshar Kharebov, a mobile technology entrepreneur. They plan to develop an AI-powered virtual doctor to assess patients via questions and integrate diagnostic data to provide treatment recommendations over video calls if needed. The goal is to improve access to care and reduce costs by enabling self-care. Acelacare is currently in the early conceptual stage of development.

Mining Minds: an innovative framework for personalized health and wellness su...Oresti Banos
The world is witnessing a spectacular shift in the delivery of health and wellness care. The key ingredient of this transformation consists in the use of revolutionary digital
technologies to empower people in their self-management as well as to enhance traditional care procedures. While substantial domain-specific contributions have been provided to that end in the recent years, there is a clear lack of platforms that may orchestrate, and intelligently leverage, all the data, information and knowledge generated through these technologies. This work presents Mining Minds, an innovative framework that builds on the core ideas of the digital health and wellness paradigms to enable the provision of personalized healthcare and wellness support. Mining Minds embraces some of the currently most prominent digital technologies, ranging from Big Data and Cloud Computing to Wearables and Internet of Things, and state-of-the-art concepts and methods, such as Context-Awareness, Knowledge Bases or Analytics, among others. This paper aims at thoroughly describing the efficient and rational combination and interoperation of these modern technologies and methods through Mining Minds, while meeting the essential requirements posed by a framework for personalized health and wellness support.
This document presents a health analyzer system that uses machine learning to predict multiple diseases from user-input data. The system was designed to predict diabetes, stroke, breast cancer, fetal health, liver disease, and heart disease. It uses various machine learning algorithms like random forest, SVM, logistic regression, naive bayes and decision trees. Models for each disease were trained on different datasets and the best performing algorithm was selected for each disease. A Flask API with user interfaces was created to allow users to input data and receive predictions. The system aims to provide a cost-effective solution compared to separate systems for each disease. It analyzes diseases by considering all relevant parameters to detect effects more accurately.
The document discusses the transition from the temporary EHR certification program to the permanent certification program. The temporary program utilized ONC-ATCBs for both testing and certification, while the permanent program separates these functions with accredited testing labs (ONC-ATLs) and certification bodies (ONC-ACBs). It also provides timelines and requirements for the new structure to be fully implemented in 2012.
Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence for EpicEggplant
Eggplant is a suite of tools that makes sure Epic works as expected. It does this by connecting automated testing with robust analytics and insights to deliver a holistic experience. It ensures that data is flowing from one system to another without error.
This document summarizes a presentation on personal health record (PCHR) platforms. It discusses how PCHRs have evolved from static portals into applications platforms that give patients access to and control over their health data. Examples of PCHR platforms like Indivo are presented, as well as how they can integrate with electronic health records through standards like SMART. The presentation argues that PCHRs can promote patient engagement, data sharing, and the development of new healthcare applications if they are designed as open platforms like the iPhone.
Million Hearts Risk Check Challenge Q&A Webinarhealth2dev
This document summarizes a meeting to discuss the Million Hearts Risk Check Challenge. The challenge asks developers to create apps that assess heart disease risk, encourage users to get blood pressure and cholesterol tests, and direct them to locations offering affordable screenings. The meeting covered an overview of the challenge, APIs provided by Archimedes and Surescripts to power the apps, and criteria for evaluating submissions. Attendees could ask questions and received resources on using the APIs and evaluation process.

“Detection of Diseases using Machine Learning”IRJET Journal
This document describes a machine learning-based disease prediction system. The system was developed as a web application using the Flask framework. It uses logistic regression and random forest classifiers trained on disease-related health parameters to predict diseases. The system allows users to login and submit their health details, generates a prediction report, and stores all user data in a MySQL database for admin access and record keeping. The goal is to help doctors detect diseases earlier and improve healthcare system quality by leveraging machine learning models.
This deck will provide an overview of the value of APIs in the health and wellness industry, exploring how the growth in health and wellness related apps (specifically wearables) is driving innovation in this industry and how APIs are further enabling market growth - within the Vitality program and in the industry overall. Access to data, interoperability, and security are key requirements and the discussion will look at how these factors are enabling and impacting the adoption of APIs in the wellness industry.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

2. How the New Heart Age Application will Support
and Drive the Million Hearts™ Challenge
Unilever and Microsoft® have created a powerful new Heart Age Application that will improve heart
health literacy and awareness, drive engagement, and motivate action for the Million Hearts™
Challenge.
• The accompanying video demonstrates the Windows 8 user experience from initial engagement with the tool through the stages
of getting tested and taking action.
• Use of strong UX principles and exploiting Windows 8 features guide the user through the tool and make full use of the APIs made
available. This approach will be replicated on other platforms should we win the competition.
