I am so glad that you have been able to learn a little bit about how we can be a helping hand in the conservation of water in our world. Taking care of our planet is a big responsibility. We have only scratched the surface of conservation of water, but if we all work together, we can bring about change, not only with water, but with air, land, energy, waste, and others. Even though you have completed this task, do not stop here. I encourage you to try and find out the ways you can help your community to become active in conservation. Get involved and dig deeper for life!
In Nigeria, every year an estimated 124,000 children under the age of 5 die because of diarrhea, mainly due to unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene. Lack of adequate water and sanitation are also major causes of other diseases, including respiratory infection and under-nutrition

My first publication at UNICEF sheds light on the impacts of climate change on children's access to safe water and sanitation. If you think about it, it's staggering how more than 7.3 billion people have to compete over the extremely small fraction (definitely less than 1%) of the planet's available water resources -- and it'll only exacerbate as climate change continues. Who will suffer the most? The poorest children in the most vulnerable regions, such as coastal areas or the regions with extreme heat stress. Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

SANITATION?
3. CONCLUSION:
4. BIBLIOGRAPHY:
3. 1. INTRODUCTION:
Water is life and no water no life or food and as we know already about 2 billion people in the world are
living in pure crisis with the lack to access clean water and sustainable sanitation and this forces people to
consume contaminated water supply and about 2.5 billion of people do not have facilities or lack access
to good sanitation like toilets and bathrooms and that is almost over one third of the world's population
lack access to sanitation facilities.
That's almost twice the number of people living in extreme poverty and as we know sanitation is also one
of the world's leading cause of disease and child death. sanitation is crucial to global health.
So, water is equal to life and even with the rivers. oceans and lakes that we have with the amount of
waters on earth still billions of people are living without any access to clean water with billions of people
have no access to good sanitation services whereby many do not have access to toilets and bathrooms and
many countries with poor infrastructures for our ecosystem services sustainability.
From space our planet appears to be more ocean than earth where people and animals are living and
despite the waters covering the earth still 75% of the planet more than the world population endures
extreme water scarcity.
Sanitation being even bigger problem than lack of water and with more than 2.5 billion people worldwide
suffering from lack of a good enough toilet or latrine. Getting hold of clean water isn’t good enough if the
water is being made dirty because there are no toilets, and toilets aren’t good enough if there is no
hygiene promotion to get whole communities to change the habits of generations and use the latrines.
The most common illness associated with poor sanitation is diarrhea. In developed countries, diarrhea is
little more than a nuisance, but for millions of children in the developing world, it's a death sentence.
And this is now the aim of the UN in improving the water management and productivity of clean water to
everyone on earth and minimising the challenges that we are already facing on the planet with the
sanitation and lack of toilets and bathrooms.
4. Human waste is full of dangerous bacteria that can cause diseases like cholera, typhoid, infectious
hepatitis, polio, cryptosporidiosis, and ascariasis. When waste is not properly managed, it can come into
contact with skin, water, insects and other things that ultimately transfer the bacteria back into the human
body where it can make people sick.

2. OBJECTIF AND GENERAL ANALYSIS
Now with the UNESCO GOAL 6TH is more important and objective that everyone get access to clean
water and proper sanitation in the world for 2030 and the only way to achieve this is through education,
and as we know water is an undisputed element of life and we need it for our living and it is a matter of
everyone to take attention to as we have already problems in our operations, for living and mostly this
would help in a sense of reducing the amount of hazardous chemicals but also by eliminating dumping
and minimizing the death toll in women and child affected by the shortage of water.
It is a must for everyone to look at this crisis and educate himself but also doing something in his
community for the better results and for the aim of achieving these goals.
And we know already the UN is prepared and wants as the object to all of us improving the clean water
results by providing this to everyone on earth and having proper sanitation to the whole world by at least
everyone should get access to a toilet and bathroom and especially women and children that suffering
most from the rest of the world.
We look at investing in our communities by building necessary infrastructures that would assist in
accessing clean water and having proper toilets for all as a managing director of the NGE SERVICES we
have already started with the clean water for all in our area of operation where we have identified more
than 2000 sources that we have started building different capacities of water storage tanks and more than
100000 toilets and 150 schools for our children where we are supporting the vision and developing our
communities in different villages and cities in the democratic republic of the Congo.
A. WHY IS UNESCO’S GOAL OF CLEAN WATER & SANITATION IMPORTANT, IN
YOUR OPINION?
Water is everybody’s business and in my opinion UNESCO goals are definitely important in the sense of
improving life of human being and animals on earth by boosting reminding us of the crisis that we are
5. facing already with the clean water and sanitation where most almost 20% of the population on earth lack
access to clean water and it have been said and proved geographically that the planet is running out of
water and it is a situation that we need to control and thanks to this program that has definitely educate
everyone and made a call to invest in this program for us to improve our infrastructures and most of
African and middle east countries lack infrastructure and uneducated to this so that we could supply
water to their communities.
This situation forces people to live and get educated on how we could save this planet and human beings
from these crisis as we are aware that more rivers get drier and lack of infrastructures so now due to the
global crisis thanks to UNESCO that has put in place these program and reminding us of such sensitive
matter that concerns all of us.
By looking at these goals they are safe and helpful in a way that provides to everyone an affordable
hygienic education to all on how to protect our infrastructures and have clean water in each region to save
the planet from the water crisis and also by saving lives of millions and also restoring our ecosystems
water related that are very important.
So, as I can say in my region water is a big challenge to in my community in the democratic republic of
Congo and this project there have been a huge change from the time social funds kicked off this project
and according to the statistics in my town Goma where at least.
Access to clean water restores health for families and reduces the amount of time that children, who often
help with chores at home, spend walking and waiting to collect water each day. Clean water gives kids a
chance to attend school and build a better future.
A woman interviewed in RUSAYO GOMA A lady collecting stagnant water after heavy
fetching underground water rains in MASISI
B. HOW IS THE CLEAN WATER & SANITATION IN THE WORLD?
The lack of water, due to droughts, to keep the system working properly becomes a real problem and
people fall ill through in contact with the open sewage.
So, there is an undisputed clean water crisis in the world and where 20% of people on earth lack and do
not have access to clean water and most people suffering are women and children.
6. Looking at this crisis most of girls get affected by the clean water crisis and for example I was born in a
family of 10 and we have 6 girls and 4 boys but while we were still young it was always difficult to be at
school on time because we had to fetch clean water at almost 12km away and in Goma we do have the
lake kivu but unfortunately not the infrastructures for us to get access to clean water.
And as we all know this still a big challenge for everyone on earth that we need to solve via the UNESCO
program that have helped us so far.
According to WHO (world health organisation) this pandemic covid-19 has defined and proved that
water and sanitation around the world is in crisis and WHO has said the pandemic has demonstrated that
the critical importance of sanitation, hygiene and adequate access to clean water for preventing and
containing diseases.
Hygiene saves lives but our access to clean water and sanitation still under serious challenges and
personally I would thank the UNESCO program of clean water and sanitation that has reminds and this
has been a good approach so far in saving lives and improving our ecosystems and mostly in my country
DRCongo where the most affected people have been women and children that have suffered due to the
lack of the proper infrastructure and access to clean water.
First photo a woman tricking for clean water availability in the community and second picture
7. women fetching water from the KIVU lake with high contaminated and salty water.
C. WHAT CHANGES NEED TO HAPPEN TO ACHIEVE CLEAN WATER &
SANITATION?
According to the United Nations, there are still 663 million people around the world that don’t have
access to clean drinking water.
When people, especially children and women have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they
lead healthier and more successful lives.
The most important thing that must happen is to get clean water and sanitation into education projects.
Kids and women learn about disease transmission and practice good hygiene and how to use and protect
our infrastructures so this should be compulsory in schools and in our community and different
gatherings that information should get to everyone and to every family and those lessons should be taken
everywhere to those that are not informed.
Secondly, we should encourage our investors and companies with governments and everyone to invest
into clean water and sanitation around the world and most especially everyone’s region for the success of
this vison.
For example, for my side I am doing a civil road construction project that I initiated and investing in our
communities by building water storage tanks that distribute water to more than 3 million people and this
project in note yet completed and so far this have improved social lives on both the road infrastructure
and the social development into our communities on the drcongo national route 3 and the provincial road
Sake-walikale.
8. Photo: NGE Services donation of fountains of clean water and storage thanks in GOMA and other
villages MASISI and KASHEBERE
During March 2020, Rotary the NGE SERVICES SA-CA www.ngeservices.co.za take action to provide
clean water and sanitation in our communities:
Improve sanitation facilities by providing toilets and latrines that flush into a sewer or safe enclosure.
We then promote good hygiene habits through education. Proper hand washing with soap and water so
that can reduce diarrhoea cases by up to 35 percent.
We Implement rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for drinking or recharging
underground aquifers. Build wells to extract groundwater from underground aquifers.
We then provide home water-treatment capability using filters or flocculants, to make drinking water
safe.
Promote low-cost solutions, such as chlorine tablets or plastic bottles that can be exposed to sunlight, to
improve water quality.
With these I then strongly recommend that for the change of the clean water and sanitation crisis we need
to improve sanitation facilities by providing clean toilets and latrines that flush into a sewer or safe
enclosure.
We need to promote good hygiene habits through education now with proper hand washing with soap
knowing that water could reduce diarrhea cases by up to 35 percent in the world and mostly in the rural
or developing countries.
9. We need to implement rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for drinking or
recharging underground aquifers. Build wells to extract groundwater from underground aquifers.
We need to provide home water-treatment capability using filters, solar disinfection, or flocculants, to
make drinking water safe.
We should also promote low-cost solutions, such as chlorine tablets or plastic bottles that can be exposed
to sunlight, to improve water quality.
So, the most important is to educate everyone on how to protect and use our infrastructures, on how to
save water as we already know that we have water and sanitation crisis around the globe so the most
important issue is also to plant trees that would definitely help our environment situation for climate
change as we have shortage of rains around the globe.
By considering the following: 80% of global trade occurs through the value chains of multinational
companies. In addition to this, nearly one fifth of the world’s population is employed at some level of
these global supply chains, and up to 90% of these workers work in countries with the highest water
stress levels. Combine this with the financial return on water and sanitation, and it makes sense for these
transnational enterprises to focus on UNESCO Goal for both profit and the well-being of the
communities in which they operate.
D. DO YOU THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE CLEAN WATER & SANITATION
AROUND THE WORLD? WHY OR WHY NOT?
Of course, it is possible only if we improve the education and the infrastructure around the world by
investing our time and money.
And most importantly it is good to also look at our political situation around the world by improving the
human right and condemning the injustices around the world and it is for this reason that I strongly
support the UNESCO
For example, in my country Congo where we have much rivers and much rainfall season yet the
government is unable supply water to its citizens due to the corruption activities that take place and
recently I decided in my current project to build some of fountains, toilets and schools but I was asked for
money to execute this while this was a donation from company to poor people.
We need to improve our human right and condemned the injustices that the world is facing now and the
crimes against women and children in the area that we are living in.
It is also impossible do achieve these clean water and sanitation goal for as long as there still and living in
a world of crimes and injustices.
Where money speaks thank laws and it doesn’t matter how much money is allocated to such project and
would be scammed by the people in power that were supposed to save the poor citizens and protect our
humanity but they do not care because they are untouchable.
Also it’s a bit difficult to execute such project in areas where people are already struggling from war and
serious crimes that have affected more lives where people do not have peace like in my province of the
north kivu in the democratic republic of Congo and especially in BENI town where people are not
concerned about clean water and access to clean toilet but their ,most concern is peace as from 2014 they
keep slaughtering people like goat or chickens in complicity with people in power and the International
criminal court do not say anything all and such injustices have forced me to take courage and the lead in
my poor community by serving those that I can and by the grace.
E. HOW CAN EDUCATION LEAD TO A WORLD WITH CLEAN WATER &
SANITATION?
Education is the most weapon that we can use to change the world and without education we can never
meet the challenges of the crisis clean water and sanitation that we are currently facing. It’s vital to
educate our people and explain how they should play a big role that requires all of us to change the world,
our respective countries and particularly our regions where we live.
10. So, if we can educate our people and accompanied this education and by investing and building the
proper infrastructures that support the visions and goals of the UNESCO and surely, we would be able to
achieve and meet the clean water crisis and sanitation that already the world has been facing and save the
planet.
So, by educating people we make them aware of the challenges that we are facing and bring this to their
conscious
Basically education will lead people to understand on how to look after our investment in infrastructures
and have access to clean water which would also restores health for families and reduces the amount of
time that children, who often help with chores at home, spend walking and waiting to collect water each
day.
This same education in our communities will show the importance of how c lean water gives our kids a
chance to attend school and build a better future for them but also giving women their right with proper
sanitations and this same education will definitely teach them how to prevent the diseases in their area
such as diarrhea and cholera into their environment or community by having clean water, having proper
hand washing and having clean toilets and good sanitation into their place of living and work areas.
Education will also open their knowledge and understanding the reason of some of problems that their
face every day and improve their social lives in their families and also by minimizing the death toll of
kids and people affected by the lack of water and attracting investors but also by understanding their
human right to access the clean water and education.
So, education is the key to empower people that would like to solve their problems and meet the
challenges of the world.
Since education is the systematic process way of giving and receiving instruction both morally and
transferring of knowledge, leading a world with clean water and good sanitation can be achieved through
educating people or community with several ways considering the level of understanding of every
community through radio, televisions, newspaper, drama both locally and international.
Using the medium of radio or television local languages must be considered because without this
knowledge cannot be transferred. Knowledge is said to have been transferred if both sides understand and
the purpose is to achieve, with this education can lead to a world with clean water and sanitation.
Another best way of transferring knowledge is through drama. Presentation of playlet that will showcase
the important and negative effect of not using clean water and not having good sanitation will be in the
memories of everyone that watches the playlet. Therefore, clean water can be achieved through quality
education.

11. F. WHAT OBJECTIVES, PRINCIPLES AND TEACHING TECHNIQUES ARE USED IN
EDUCATION TO IMPROVE THE CLEAN WATER & SANITATION AROUND THE
WORLD?
The objective of using education to improve the clean water and sanitation around the world are to access
to a safe clean water and hygiene environment and to equally seek to secure clean water and sanitation
infrastructure that is self-sustainable, peaceful, prosperous and equitable to the life of everyone around
the world in which governments and general society will do their part to achieve the goals. A primary
path to achieve these goals is through education.
The principle has to do with providing the community a great insight on what makes people learn
effectively and productively, this involves how to teaches, how learning takes place by making them see
what people want to see and make them hear what the people to hear.
The teaching techniques to adopt is to first study the people in the community, secondly, understand the
people's norms and value and their weakness, lastly, adopt a teaching method by coming down to their
level of understanding so that proper message would be welcomed by the community.

G. HOW CAN EDUCATION IMPROVE IN YOUR COMMUNITY SO THAT THE NEXT
GENERATION HAS THE TOOLS AND MINDSET TO OBTAIN CLEAN WATER &
SANITATION?
Education can be improved in my country or region if orientation and proper training is given to the
community because many families still believe in using the children to hustle for life just because of the
higher rate of poverty and if the community or people are made to aware of what they need to know
about education and equally see the importance of knowledge the this would have definitely a huge
impact to them.
The quality of clean water and sanitation can be improved through education, if government could make
access to education by everyone as it is some of the developing countries that would also improve and
bring good results as most people are lack of knowledge because they cannot afford the education system
imposed to them and especially when it is expensive and they cannot afford it.
13. Like in my country DRC we always say education is not for poor people and it is very critical to find a
poor child getting access to proper education.

3. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, Sustainable development goal #6: clean water and sanitation by the UNESCO is the only
option that we can use to solve the global clean water and securing a sustainable and affordable clean,
safe, reliable clean water, the hygiene environment and facilities for our people and I strongly believe by
2030 this goal would be achieved through the education and both society and governments should play
bigger roles but as I mentioned earlier on there is no success without justice.
Justice is the way to go and we cannot exclude some part of the world being excluded from this goal and
I believe it is a big critical to educate people of BENI in the democratic republic of Congo while running
everyday from wars and being slaughtered and I strongly believe we can end that scenario and end the
cholera and diarrhea that is affecting that part of the world due to the lack of clean water, proper toilets
and peace in their region.
Good planning and policies that have been in place have to be followed for the success of this program
and this for both government and community to adhere with as we need to minimize the amount of
people that are dying daily due to the lack of clean water and the lack of sanitation as I may say lack of
access to proper toilets and bathrooms can be put on end for as soon as everyone get to put this into his
conscious and indeed it is possible to achieve this before or by 2030 as planned.
