INTRODUCTION
 Unemployment, also referred to as joblessness, occurs when people
are without work and are actively seeking employment.
 During periods of recession, an economy usually experiences high
unemployment rates.
There are many proposed causes, consequences, and solutions for
unemployment.
DEFINATIONS
• Unemployment is defined as a situation where someone of working
age is not able to get a job but would like to be in full-time
employment.
• Unemployment, according to the OECD ( organisation for Economic
Co-operation and Development), is persons above a specified age
(usually 15) not being in paid employment or self-employment but
currently available for work during the reference period.
CAUSES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
The following are the main causes of unemployment
1. Increase in Population
2. Slow Economic Growth
3. Fall of Cottage and Small industries
4. Slow Growth of Industrialisation
5. Less Savings and Investment
6. Defective Planning
EFFECTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT
Unemployment is a big problem which effects the economic all the
country. It has following bad effects:
1. Exploitation of labour
2. Industrial disputes
3. Increase in poverty
4. Political instability
5. Loss of human resources
TYPES OF UNEMPLOYMENT
Discussed the types of unemployment :
 1. Frictional Unemployment:
• Frictional unemployment exists when there is lack of adjustment between demand for and
supply of labour.
2. Seasonal Unemployment:
• Seasonal unemployment results from seasonal fluctuations in demand. Employment in ice
factories is only for the summer. Similarly ice-cream sellers remain unemployed during winter
and chestnut-sellers during summer.
 3. Structural Unemployment:
• Structural unemployment results from a variety of causes. It may be due to lack of the co-
operant factors of production, or changes in the economic structure of the society.
4. Disguised Unemployment:
• Disguised or concealed unemployment or underemployment is a notable feature of
underdeveloped countries. Such unemployment is not voluntary but involuntary
The term unemployment is classified into
types:
VOLUNTARY UNEMPLOYMENT
• The unemployment has occurred
when the resources which are
willing and able to engage in
production but not choose to
produced output. These people
leave their current job in search of
others.
INNVOLUNTARY UNUMPLOYMENT
• In the involuntary unemployment,
the resources are forced to work it’s
also called forced unemployment.
ELEMENTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT:
1. An individual be capable for workimg.
2. An individual should be wiling to work .
3. An individual must make an effort to find work.

CONCLUSION
1. Unemployment is a serious issue for any economy.
2. It creates negative affects to unemployed as they are jobless and
suffer from worse prospects to find new job and those who are
employed feel less secure to keep their jobs in future.
3. Now a days, obviously our rate of unemployment here in our
country was very high.
SO At last we say that unemployment is big problem But with our
efforts we can reduce from all the world .
