Google I/O 2018 will take place on 8th to 10th May, this opens the platform for mobile application developers to learn the new features and improve things accordingly.
The release of iOS 11 was packed with many new features including Apple’s new ARKit software. The ARKit results in an expansion of iOS’s Augmented Reality abilities and signify Apple’s continued interest in the development of the technology. The ARKit provides developers with a slew of new tools designed to help create a new generation of apps. As an app development agency, QSS Technosoft is excited to see the potential of the new technology that could potentially change the gaming universe and help with everyday life.
Augment reality (a walk through) – the blend of real world and virtual worldEZ Rankings
All the major companies including Google, Apple and Microsoft are investing high on this technology and they have already developed their trademark software and hardware related to the same. GoOgle has been working on Google Glass for past few fears and on the other hand Microsoft is working on project named as Holo Lens. Apple is also working on the same, but it is yet to announce its project name for augmented reality. There are other major brands who have already developed application that uses AR for rich and lively user experience.
Prior to the start of the new year we published our 2017 trend framework (http://engage.epsilon.com/top-trends-for-2017) this document sets the foundation for how we identify macro trend territories that have the highest probability of creating new behaviors and empower consumers through the lens of Connection, Cognition & Immersion in the near future.
CES 2017 was our first opportunity to further validate the territories but more importantly identify some of the key tech trends that will have a major impact on marketing over the next few years. In the attached document you will find an in-depth review of key trends such as the impact a connected product ecosystem and how Alexa Voice Services are quickly positioning to scale quickly through 3rd party integrations. You will also find examples of new types of interfaces and input devices that may further lead to an ambient computing future.
2017 is also the turning point from “everything will be connected” to everything will be cognified”. The impact of artificial intelligence will be a big topic in 2017 and Epsilon is uniquely positioned to capitalize (look for more on this topic on January 19th via an industry AI op-ed). CES validated the idea of pervasive cognition as well as advancements via contextual assistants and object recognition. The rapidly developing immersion ecosystem built on full sensory immersion, spatial freedom and alternative interfaces also caught our attention.

Apple has announced the introduction of a new version of its Apple TV and iPad range. With approximately 70 million iPads forecast to be shipped in 2012 (71% up on 2011), there remains an insatiable appetite for Apple products around the world. Whilst neither announcement is especially ground-breaking, the success of the iPhone 4S, which was greeted with hoots of derision by tech-blogs, shows that the general public doesn’t seem to care. There are multiple additional features and upgrades with no major price hike so these latest announcements are unlikely to see this demand change significant and if anything could well increase it.

Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

2. Google's annual developer conference is going to
held between May 8th to May 10th this year.
This is the time when mobile application developers
get introduced to the new developments in Android
OS and its devices. Here’s the round-up of the possible
announcements from Google I/O for the year 2018.
3. Android P
The most awaited operating system is Android P, which is
already in the review phase with the developers’ team.
The exclusive feature could be the gesture-based navigation
support for Android users like iPhone-X. This will help to remove
the physical buttons and increases the screen size. Google might
give a view of gesture-based navigation is going to work with
Android P OS with devices.
4. Google Assistant
The Artificial Intelligence-based assistance is the much-hyped
thing for smartphones. The Android and iOS users, both are
looking forward to more accurate and features with it. There
could be really interesting this year in the Google Assistant;
this would be beyond google apps, smart displays and smart
speakers. The AI-based apps and devices will lead this year.
5. Android TV
The Chromecast is your daily entertainment package, however,
Android TV is what mobile application developers are looking
forward. The mysterious Android TV dongle with a remote on
the Google Assistant button on it could be the next big thing from
Google I/O 2018. There are rumours about specifications of this
device as Android Oreo, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac,
Bluetooth 4.1, with Amlogic S905X processor with 2GB RAM, 8GB
storage in it. The mobile app development companies are already
started working to develop more for the upcoming Android TV.
6. Actions
What Amazon Alexa is for users the same Actions of Google
Assistant will be for its users. Actions for Google assistant are
supposed to work with integration of third-party services.
Google says, “Learn how to launch an Action that will make
your existing services available to hundreds of millions of
devices through the Google Assistant.” Once Google will bring
Actions to the Google Assistant and Google Home devices,
this will be a huge competition for Amazon’s Echo.
7. Android Auto
This is not new to the Android users, your smartphone apps for
the smart car is Android Auto. Since its introduction in the year
2015, Google is constantly upgrading its features. It focuses on
the hands-free operation and more driving-friendly interface;
developers are expecting some more advanced features in it.
8. AR (Augmented Reality) & VR
(Virtual Reality) devices/gadegts
In the last year’s Google I/O, the standalone VR headset
powered by DayDream has been introduced to the world.
Interestingly, there is no other major player developed the similar
device except Lenovo’s Mirage Solo. This creates huge
opportunities for Google to showcase an improved VR headset,
which was missing in US and India despite the huge market
possibilities. Chances are that there would be new device
capabilities of VR and AR both experiences for users.
9. Artificial Intelligence and Machine
Learning
These are the two big things for next generation which Google is
working for a long while. Google has been working on some of
the promising projects of AI; including the Google Photo’s and
Pixel’ Camera. We can see image obstruction removal feature
Effectively in the Pixel phones from this year’s Google I/O. No
surprise, if Google’s TensorFlow AI platform and the use of cloud
TPUs (Tensor Processing Units) for image classification, language
modelling, speech recognition, object recognition, and more will
get a presence this year.
10. Conclusion
These are the major announcements developers are looking
forward this year. Though, there could be some more surprises
too. As per the Google’s official, they are also working on a
common gaming project known as Arcade. It will allow users to
play the game with their friends on a common platform. Just keep
your eyes on the Google I/O 2018 and look for exciting new
announcements.
