The document discusses establishing harmony in society through a universal human order. It outlines the human goal of developing right understanding and feelings in individuals, prosperity in families, fearlessness in society, and co-existence with nature.
To achieve this goal, it proposes five key systems or dimensions: 1) education and sanskar for wisdom and right living, 2) health and self-regulation of the body, 3) sustainable production through cyclic processes, 4) justice through fulfilling relationships, and 5) mutually beneficial exchange and storage of resources. The scope of these systems extends from the family order to a world family order for universal human harmony.

2. It explains that the self and body are distinct realities that interact through the exchange of information, with the self making decisions about what instructions to give and sensations to read from the body.
3. The self associates meaning to sensations from the body and outside events based on sanskar (accumulated understanding and assumptions), and can either react based on assumptions or respond based on right understanding.
The document discusses understanding the human being as the co-existence of self and body. It describes how human beings are complex combinations of the self, which relates to feelings, and the material body, which refers to physical facilities. Often, the needs of the body and feelings clash. The document outlines Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which includes physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs. It then discusses distinguishing the needs of the self from the needs of the body, and the activities that occur in the self versus the body. The self is described as the conscious entity that engages in knowing, assuming, recognizing, and fulfilling, while the body is the material entity that recognizes and fulfills
The document discusses the human being as a co-existence of self and body. It states that human beings are complex combinations of the sentiment 'I' relating to feelings, and the material body relating to physical facilities. The self ('I') and body each have distinct needs, activities, and types. The needs of the self are for happiness, trust, and respect, while the needs of the body are for food, clothing, and other physical comforts. The activities of the self include thinking, feeling, and desiring, while activities of the body include breathing and digestion. The document emphasizes that the self and body must co-exist harmoniously for a human being to function well.
This document discusses the relationship between the self and the body from a philosophical perspective. It makes three key points:
1. The self is central to human existence and is the seer, doer, and enjoyer. The body is an instrument used by the self.
2. The self's need is for continuous happiness. Its program is to understand harmony and live in harmony at all levels of being.
3. Production, protection and utilization of physical resources is part of the self's program, but a minor part (<1/4). The relationship between self and body is one of information exchange at all levels.
This document provides an overview of understanding health from a holistic perspective. It discusses several topics related to realizing aspirations and resolving issues holistically by understanding human beings. Some of the key points covered include understanding that the human being has a body, self, and needs that can be fulfilled through right understanding and feeling. It also discusses maintaining health through proper intake, daily routine, exercise, postures, breathing techniques, and integrated treatment approaches. The document emphasizes adopting lifestyle practices focused on intake, exercise, and regulated breathing before relying on medical treatments.
The document discusses understanding health from a holistic perspective. It outlines several programs that can help maintain individual health, including proper intake, daily routine, exercise, regulated breathing, and medicine when needed. However, it notes that viewing health only as a physical matter is limited, and that true health involves the well-being of one's self, body, family, society, and natural environment. A holistic solution is needed to address health issues that consider all these levels. The home assignment asks readers to reflect on how they can improve their own health practices and take responsibility for the health of their relationships and environment.
The document discusses the relationship between the self ("I") and the body in a human being. Maintaining harmony between the self and body requires fulfilling both their needs through right understanding, regulation of the self, and ensuring overall health of the body.
The document discusses value education and harmony at different levels. It covers:
- The need for value education to correctly identify aspirations and understand universal human values.
- Value education should include understanding oneself, relationships, society, nature, and the goal of human life.
- The process of value education begins with self-exploration by verifying proposals based on natural acceptance and experience.
- Basic human aspirations are happiness, prosperity, and their continuity, which require right understanding, relationships, and physical facilities.
- Harmony exists at the levels of the human being between self and body, the family, society, and nature which consists of physical, bio, animal, and human orders.
The document discusses the four orders of nature - physical, bio, animal, and human - and their relationship of mutual fulfillment. It explains that the physical order provides the necessary facilities for the bio, animal, and human orders to exist, and that the orders are interconnected and interdependent in a cyclic relationship where each unit enriches the others. For harmony in nature to exist, it is important that the innate qualities, inheritance patterns, and activities of each order are facilitated and not violated. The role of human education and values is to understand this natural harmony and participate in a way that preserves all orders of nature.

The document discusses the role of education in facilitating human development and transformation. It argues that for human beings, physical facility, relationship, and right understanding are all necessary for happiness and prosperity. The role of education is to enable this transformation to "human consciousness" by developing the competence for "definite human conduct" - ensuring right understanding, the capacity for positive relationships, and skills for sustainable production of resources. The goal is holistic development moving from an "animal consciousness" focused only on physical needs to a "human consciousness" centered on mutual happiness through all three components.

The needs, activities, and responses of the self and body are explored. Maintaining harmony between the self and body involves the self having a feeling of self-regulation to properly nurture, protect, and utilize the body for health. Ensuring harmony within the self through aligning imagination with one's natural acceptance is also important for overall well-being.
This document discusses the importance of trust in relationships and harmony in the family. It proposes that trust on the intention of others, based on the understanding that all human beings naturally want to be happy, is the foundation of relationships. Such trust can be unconditional and continuous, whereas trust on competence depends on events and may change. Self-reflection questions are provided to examine one's own level of trust on the intentions of family and friends. Developing trust on others' intentions based on a shared natural acceptance, rather than doubts based on events, is important for addressing problems in relationships.

Physical Facility is required to to keep the body in good health,
so that right utilisation of the body can be ensured
i.e. physical Facility is required only for
nurturing, protection and right utilisation of the body
If we can see that, the physical facility for
nurturing, protection and right utilisation of the body
is required in a limited quantity,
then we can understand the meaning of prosperity

In a previous session, we had seen that we can observe two categories
of human beings

1. Lacking physical facility, unhappy deprived (lqfo/kk foghu nq[kh

2. Having physical facility, unhappy deprived (lqfo/kk laiUu nq[kh

While we want to be – tcfd ge gksuk pkgrs gSa&
3. Having physical facility, happy prosperous (lqfo/kk laiUu lq[kh

Now we can see that if the identification of required physical facility is
missing, then one can only shift between category 1 & category 2
This is possible only with
a- the right identification of required physical facility and
b- availability / production of more than required physical facility

Assumption: Human being = Body
Needs of human being = physical facility
and feelings
Need for feelings (like respect) is continuous
All needs are fulfilled by physical facility
(Eg. clothes, house, car… will fetch respect)
Physical facility required = unlimited!
Effect of Assumption
12. 16
Gross Misunderstanding 2 – There is a Shortage of Physical Facility
Data: Of the 4.2 billion tons of food produced, more than 1 billion tons of food
is lost or wasted every year, UN-backed report finds (11 May 2011)
About a third of all the food produced for human consumption each year – or
roughly 1.3 billion tons – is lost or wasted, according to a
new study commissioned by the United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization (FAO)
Global Food Production is 6 times requirement
Global Food Wastage is 1/3rd of production
Wastage is enough to feed 1300 crore people/year
Have we understood human needs?
Have we understood right utilisation?
Is it a question of production or distribution?
Is it a question of relationship?
Is it a question of right understanding?
It is a question of right education-sanskar

Self Reflection
1. Are you able to see that physical facility is used for nurturing the
Body, for protection of the Body and for its right utilization? Is there
any other use of physical facility for you?
2. Take one physical facility (say for clothes) and explore into these
questions:
Do you think more about getting, collecting and accumulating or
you think more about right utilization, sharing and nurturing
others?
Have you identified how much your need, how much is required?
Can you find it out now or it is impossible? Why?
Find out how much you have.
If you have less than required, what do you think about?
If you have more than required, do you feel prosperous?
When you have a feeling of prosperity, does it make you happy?
What are some indicators of your feeling of prosperity?
What is your conclusion about the feeling of prosperity?

Feeling of Self-regulation Program for it Health in the Body
The Body is an orderly system (a harmony). It has definite conduct.
All the cells in the body work together, in harmony with each other,
participating in the larger order to form tissues, organs and organ
systems.
I (Self) have to ensure the continuity of that harmony (not disturb it).
If I have a feeling of responsibility toward the body, I will
do what is required for fulfilling that responsibility.
This will ensure health in the Body

1a. Intake includes air, water, sunlight, food (food is nutritious, digestible & tasty and
waste is excretable), all intake through our senses (sound, sight, smell etc)
1b. Rising time, sleeping time, eating time…
2a. Outcome of labour is production of physical facility
2b. No physical facility is produced by exercise
19. 24
Intake
Intake includes all that we absorb through all the sense organs – air,
water, sunlight, food…
Also, thoughts in response to outside events/circumstances etc.
To maintain health:
Food that is nutritious, digestible and tasty and waste is excretable (fibre
rich food)
Awareness of other intake through our senses, especially while eating. e.g.
being aware of how much to eat, choice of food etc. (rather than watching
TV, arguing with others while eating ….)
Daily exposure to fresh air and sunlight
And so on
21. 26
Labour
Ensure adequate movement of the Body + production of physical facility
Examples:
Sweeping and swabbing your room / house / hostel
Kitchen gardening
Cycling to your college and back…
22. 27
Exercise
Ensure adequate movement of the Body
Postures for regulating internal and external body organs

Sum Up
Human Being is co-existence of Self and Body
The Self is central to human existence; Body is an instrument of the Self
The transaction between Self and Body is only in the form of information
Physical Facility is required, in a limited quantity, for Nurturing, Protection &
Right Utilisation of the Body
Prosperity = Feeling of having / producing more than required physical facility
1. Identification of required physical facility (including the required quantity)
– with right understanding
2. Ensuring availability/ production of more than required physical facility
– with right skills
The Self and the Body are in Harmony when there is a feeling of Self-regulation
in the Self and Health in the Body
Self-regulation = Feeling of responsibility toward the body – for Nurturing,
Protection and Right Utilization of the Body
Health = The body acts according to Self and parts of the body are in harmony
(in order)
28. 33
Self Reflection
1. Do you have a feeling of Self-regulation (responsibility toward your
body)? – continuous?
2. Is your body healthy?
3. If you assume yourself to be the Body, what are some implications,
particularly on the health of the Body?
4. When you select food to eat, what is of primary importance – the
nutrition or taste?
5. When you choose clothes, what is of primary importance – how you
will look in those clothes, what other people will say to you or you
think of comfort and protection first?
6. When do you decide your daily routine, what is the primary
consideration – your workplace timings or your self-development
and health of Body?

FAQ
1. How can we find out how much money is required i.e. determine our
physical needs?
I am asking because prices keep changing and there is no
guarantee that we will not have some accident or some illness
where we don’t know how much the treatment will cost. We have to
include insurance for all these contingencies…
2. Does Sayam mean self control or self restraint? What exactly is the
English word for Self-regulation?
3. If we become satisfied, then there will be no motivation for
development. So many great inventions took place during world
wars, like operations research, like radar… What is your comment
on it?
4. If there is relationship and prosperity, then there is no need for
corruption! How can we reach this knowledge to those doing all this
corruption?
31. 36
Some Implications of a wrong assumption
If the assumption is Human Being = Body
Then happiness is sought through
sensation (through the body) or
getting the right feeling from the other
As a result
The body is harmed due to excessive consumption or over indulgence to
get favourable sensation
Continuity of happiness can not be ensured
There is a major impact on family, society, nature…
e.g.
Over eating, consumption of "junk food" etc. is common
A large number of diseases are psychosomatic in nature
Today many of the complaints are related to the lack of feeling
32. 37
Why “More than Required Physical Facility”
If my family is prosperous, then:
1. We identify the required physical facility for the family (including the
required quantity) – with right understanding
2. We produce more than the required physical facility using cyclic,
mutually enriching process – with right skills
3. We consume as much as is required (for nurturing, protection & right
utilisation of the body), and not more – with a feeling of Self-
regulation
4. We share the rest for mutual fulfillment in relationship & for order in
society – with a sense of responsibility in relationship
Editor's Notes
Who is the observer? Self or body?
Can you see that you are always active “imagination” is always going on
