Questions
Enumerate the different
aspects of culture.
Understand how culture
of a certain society can
influence changes in
another society.
What are
the aspects
of culture?
What are the
processes that made
culture of a society can
influence any changes in
another society?
How culture
and
individual
behavior
related?
Culture - is fluid
rather than static,
which means that
culture changes all
the time, every
day, in subtle and
tangible ways.
Culture - is dynamic as
it responds to the
changing needs of
time, alongside to the
motion and actions
within and around it.
When one aspect
changes within a
system, culture
easily responds to it.
A flexible culture is one where the organization
and the people in it are capable of adapting
effectively to changing demands.

Factors that make culture dynamic
.
Culture is shared
Culture is
a contested site
of meaning.
B
Shared and
Contested
1. To be considered a cultural
characteristic, a particular
belief, value, or practice
must be shared by a
significant portion of the
society.
2. Culture is often viewed as
group customs that link
together members of
society.
3. Culture is often viewed as
group customs that link
together members of
society.
People leverage culture to
build collective identities and
exploit or mobilize for
personal, economic, or
political gain. Communication
is a process of
utilizing cultural resources.
a. Family d. Mass media
b. Educational institutions e. Virtual
c. Houses of worship training communities
Through socialization, people learn to
identify what is important and valued
within particular culture.
Learning styles are greatly influenced by how
a culture socializes with its children and young
people. The process by which a child acquires
his or her own culture is referred to
as enculturation. On the basis
of cultural learning, people create, remember,
and deal with ideas.

D Patterned social interaction
Social interaction is a
social exchange between
two or more individuals.
In sociology, social
interaction is a dynamic
sequence of social actions
between individuals (or
groups) who modify their
actions and reactions due
to actions by their
interaction partner(s).
Social interactions can be
differentiated into
accidental, repeated,
regular and regulated.
E Integrated and at times unstable
Cultural integration is when
individuals from one culture adopt
practices from another culture
without diminishing their own.
Cultural meanings are
definitely unstable, because
throughout history they have
changed drastically. The
historical period tends to dictate
the social and cultural norms.
F
Transmitted
through
socialization
A key element of cultural transmission is that it is, in
part, transmitted across generations, or at the very
least, between individuals. These sources
of cultural information are known as socialization
(or socializing) agents.
CULTURE
G
Requires language and other
forms of communication
The set of attributes of a culture is expressed through
language. Language is also used to point to objects that
are unique to a particular culture. All this means that
learning and teaching another language is essential for
international communication and cooperation.
In other forms of communication For example, you
can communicate hunger through making a gesture
pointing to your stomach or your mouth, a universal
sign. Often people will use this rudimentary
sign language to speak to others when they need
something. Another subtle yet common form of
nonverbal communication is facial expressions.
Look around you in your
society at present or you
may ask you elders and
parents about what do
they think the culture that
do you have now in your
society that were an
influence from another
society’s culture. Support
your discussions with
illustrations.
