Source Ideas
Here are a few great places to look for content
• Students personal stories
• Students engaging with the community
• UCPCC and UCPCC partner events
• UCPCC national office social media posts
• http://www.cerebralpalsy.org
• https://www.autismspeaks.org/what-autism
• Thank you posts as ideas for content
You are already doing this; continue doing this. Thank you posts can
be done for donors, partners, volunteers, staff, and students. People
like being acknowledged. This could lead to more activity, which will
lead to mire acknowledgements, and so on.
Looking for content can be difficult. Here are some themes to consider when searching
or organizing your content.
#MotivationMonday
Share about a student, staff, volunteer or person with mental disability
overcoming a challenge or doing something inspirational.
#MCM – Man Crush Monday
Highlight one of the males involved with UCPCC or involved in something
related to UCPCC and mention some of their work. Students, staff,
volunteers or people with mental disabilities are all options
#TuesdayTeach
This category can highlight programs available at UCPCC, or can be used
to teach the audience something they might not already know.
#TransformationTuesday
This can be used to show the growth of the center, or of student’s
abilities because of UCPCC.
#Wellness Wednesday
These are the days you get to post about food, outdoor activities, and
taking care of each other and us.
#WCW – Woman Crush Wednesday
4. Just Like Monday but with a female.
#WorkoutWednesday
Show off the great workout videos made by students that are available
on YouTube. Invite the audience to workout with you.
#ThankYouThursday
This is a good day to thank people involved with UCPCC and remind your
partners and supports that you care and acknowledge them.
#ThankfulThursday
Almost anything can be a Thankful Thursday post. You can be thankful for
friends, for people, donors, a beautiful day, etc.
#FridayReads
This is a good day to share articles or stories related to UCPCC or mental
disabilities.
#FunFriday
Being involved with UCPCC can be a lot of fun. Show the great
volunteering opportunities, highlight some art, tell some jokes, have fun!
#UCPWeekend
If there is something that was missed during the week that you really
want to share, this could be a good hashtag for that.
#SaturdaySayings
Thinks overheard at UCPCC can be hilarious if taken out of context- this is
a good day to have fun with that and show a lighter side to mental
disabilities.
It can also be a good place for quotes or lyrics.
#SelfieSunday
Selfies of students and staff are always fun. This is another great
opportunity to invite people to visit during the upcoming week.
Analytics and Metrics
Don’t forget to check your social media analytics on a monthly basis. Find out
what posts did best, what posts didn’t do so well, figure out why. Track your audience
demographics and engagement. Compare the same months in different years to see
how they differed from one year to another, and compare whole years. Figure out then
your busy times are.
• Facebook will let you track the page analytics directly from their platform
insights.
5. • Twitter does a similar thing is you visit twitter analytics.
A few more good tools are:
• Google Analytics (for websites)
o Measures Traffic, Trends and Sources
• YouTube Analytics
o Views, Demographics, Source, Subscribers
• Twtrland
• Hootsuite metrics
• Google alerts/Google news
• Search features in each platform
Remember, you can use similar content on different platforms, but its best to not use
exactly the same content. Currently a lot of the content for twitter is coming directly as
content from Instagram. Modify it a little; make it easy to read. i.e. include #hashtags on
Twitter, more casual on Instagram, more emotions and depth on Facebook.
