3. DC Comics
DC Comics are an American comic
and graphic novel publisher. DC being
one of the most largest and
successful comic and graphic novel
publishers in America produced the
most well known superheroes such as
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman
etc. Most of their stories in their
comics are taken place in the
fictional DC universe making it easier
to have on going stories using the
same characters.
What are the product types?
The product types of the company vary from Comics
that contain well known Superheroes and are set in the
fictional DC universe for example Batman to non-DC
related graphic novels for example V for Vendetta. The
company has a wide scope of different comics and
graphic novels.

4. DC Comics
Batman
Batman is a fictional superhero that appears
in the Batman DC Comic that is based in the
DC fictional universe. Batman as a character
was created by an artist called Bob Kane and a
writer Bill Finger. It first appeared in
Detective Comics in 1939. Soon after Batman
was first introduced as a character he quickly
gained his own comic book title called
'Batman' just one year after the character
was introduced. Batman is now one of the most
well-known DC Comics characters rivaling
other well known superheroes such as
Superman and Wonder Woman.

5. DC Comics
V for Vendetta
V for Vendetta is a British graphic novel
published by DC comics. It is written by Alan
Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd with
some extra art work from Tony Weare. The
latest version was published by Vertigo who
are an imprint of DC Comics, Vertigo was
created in 1993 to publish stories with adult &
graphic content that could not fit in with the
regulations of the comic code authority this
inspired a lot more creative freedom for
graphic novels such as V for Vendetta to
become. The graphic novel follows its title
character and protagonist, in 2006 a film was
released of the same title but the start
slightly differs from the graphic novel itself.

6. DC Comics
Frank Miller; DC comic book writer
DC Comics have some of the best comic book
writers of all time. One of them being Frank
Miller, who is an American comic book writer,
novelist, inker, screenwriter, film director,
and producer. But he is known mostly for his
comic book stories and graphic novels such as
Ronin, Daredevil: Born Again, The Dark Knight
Returns, Sin City and 300.
Frank Miller is also known for creating a
female version of Robin, Carrie Kelly for DC
Comics. The genre and style of his writing is
as quoted by him “I realized when I started
Sin City that I found American and English
comics be too wordy, too constipated, and
Japanese comics to be too empty. So I was
attempting to do a hybrid". His writing work is
a combination of film noir and manga
influences making his work stand out.

7. MARVEL
Marvel comics are another American
comic publisher. Marvel characters are
very well-known superheroes in the comic
world such as Iron Man, Captain America,
the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Doctor
Strange, Spider-Man, Daredevil,
Wolverine and Ant-Man, such teams as
the Avengers, the Guardians of the
Galaxy, the Fantastic Four, and the X-
Men, and antagonists such as Doctor
Doom, Red Skull, Green Goblin, Ultron,
Doctor Octopus, Magneto, Venom and
Loki. The fictional characters of Marvel
appear in stories that are set in the
Marvel Universe which is locations that
mirror real-life cities.
What are the product
types?
Marvel Comics publish comics and related
media only, the genre of the products they
produce is superhero fiction. The first
modern Marvel Comic book was part of the
science fiction anthology 'Journey into
Mystery' then when DC Comics came to light
Marvel followed suit.

8. MARVEL
Death of Spider Man
The death of spider man is a comic published
by marvel comics. The Spider Man comics were
an ongoing monthly comic book series. Since
then Marvel Comics have decided to modernise
this comic and publish ‘Ultimate Spider Man’
which is a modern reimagining of older Spider
Man comics this was to make sure the comic
was up to date and modernise and compete
with the other new comics.
The character Spider Man was created by
Stan Lee who's a writer-editor and Steve
Ditko who's a writer-artist. Spiderman as a
character made its first appearance in the
anthology book Amazing Fantasy (issue 15) in
1962.

9. MARVEL
Stan Lee is an American comic book writer,
editor and publisher. He created Spider-Man,
the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four,
Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor, the X-Men, and
many other fictional characters. He
introduced the idea of a shared universe of
superheroes into superhero comic books. His
preferred genre towards comics varies,
because he is so talented he has proceeded to
produce many different types of comic.

well-known comic book publishers being DC

10. MARVEL
Steve Ditko is an American comic
book artist and writer. He is most
famously known for his work as an
artist and co- worker of the Marvel
Comic Superheros such as Spiderman
and Doctor Strange.
Steve Ditko studied with the Batman
artist Jerry Robinson at the
cartoonist and illustrations school in
New York. In the 1950s Steve Ditko
drew for Atlas Comics who were a
forerunner of Marvel Comics before
producing a lot of work for Marvel
and before being the executive
artist on The Amazing Spider Man.
