STATE:
Spain and Sweden

2. The aim of my project is to see the differences
between the Swedish and the Spanish Welfare
State.
INTRODUCTION

3. WELFARE STATE
The Welfare State is a social system in which the
state assumes primary responsibility for the
welfare of its citizens, as in matters of education,
pensions, health care, and social services.
The Welfare State appeared in 1941, after the
World War II, in the Scandinavian countries.

4. THEORETICAL COMPARISON
BETWEEN THE TWO WELFARE
STATES
Although the two states (Sweden and Spain)
have a similar VAT (25% Sweden, 21% Spain)
and the other taxes are quite the same in both
countries, Swedish citizens have more benefits
in education, pensions, health care, and social
services than the Spanish inhabitants.

5. PROCEDURAL PART
I would do a comparative study between two
teenagers, two adults and two seniors, one
from Sweden and the other one from Spain on
the subjects of education, health care, social
services and pensions.

9. Sweden has a Welfare State that is considered
one of the best models in Europe, covering the
basic needs of all the citizens. Unlike the Swedish
model, the Spanish one doesn't reach all the
citizens in the most important aspects: pensions,
social services, education and health.
CONCLUSION TO THE PROJECT

10. PERSONAL CONCLUSION
I found this project interesting because it was
about economy, society and politics, subjects that
I would like to devote to in future.
But despite the problems, I would say that taking
part in the Comenius exchange has been a great
experience for me. And I would recommended it
to everybody.
