This ppt is based on Sampling of cement and two of its tests.
Sampling is the removal of a portion from a given lot of material which is then a representative of the whole lot and of a convenient size for further testing.
It is done either by hand or by an equipment.
Hand sampling is usually expensive, slow, and inaccurate, (so that it is generally applied only where the material is not suitable for equipment sampling or where machinery is either not available or too expensive to install.
Many different sampling devices are available, including shovels, pipe samplers, and automatic machine samplers.

The document provides guidance on site sampling and testing of concrete, including procedures for sampling, slump testing, flow testing, making cubes, storing cubes, and safety information. The key points are:
1) Sampling should be done according to BS1881:Part 101 or BSEN 12350-1 by taking scoopfuls from four parts of the load and mixing in a bucket.
2) Slump testing involves mixing the sample, filling a cone in layers and rodding each layer, lifting the cone and measuring the slump distance.
3) Flow testing uses a similar process of filling a mould and tamping layers, but then lifts the mould and counts drops to measure spread

It then describes Thomasine's death in childbirth in 1616, which John recorded in great detail, providing insight into their relationship and Puritan beliefs. The document establishes the context of their lives in rural 17th century England to understand Thomasine's death.
Second Amendement And International Contextlafenix
This article argues that the debate around the meaning of the Second Amendment has lacked important historical context. Specifically, it notes that the debate in Scotland around having local militias, despite opposition from the British Parliament, helped inform the American debate around state militias. The article seeks to provide this missing transatlantic context in order to better understand the historical meaning of the right to bear arms as it was understood in the late 18th century on both sides of the Atlantic. It does not take a position on the modern interpretation of the Second Amendment but aims to reconstruct the political and legal thinking of the time period to inform the originalist debate.

This document discusses the history of interpreting and writing about American Indian history. It notes that for many years, historians largely ignored or marginalized Native peoples in their writings about U.S. history. In recent decades, American Indian scholars have brought new perspectives and methodologies to the field, incorporating ideas about culture, oral history, and removing ethnocentrism. The emergence of Native historians has necessarily brought new concerns and challenges, as the past is intimately linked to living Native communities. Properly interpreting American Indian history requires understanding both the internal histories of tribes as well as their external relations with outsiders.

Some key terms translated include: bid and bid summary, general conditions of contract, investigation/survey, placement of reinforcement, piles installation, compaction, drainage, temporary dam, soil and material spillage, effect of water on bituminous mixtures, horizontal alignment, deck surface, as-built drawing, working drawing, drawings and specification, schedule of unit rates, priced bill of quantities, design calculation, warranty and repairs.
Casteneda Historiogrpahy Of Women Mexican Californialafenix
This article analyzes how early histories of frontier California portrayed Spanish-Mexican women through the lens of contemporary racial, gender, and cultural biases. Popular histories from the late 19th century reflected ideologies that viewed Mexicans as racially and culturally inferior and women as sexually inferior. These histories propagated stereotypes of Spanish-Mexican women that portrayed them in a negative light and judged their behaviors based on Anglo-American gender norms. More recent scholarship has challenged these earlier perspectives but has yet to develop a fully integrated interpretation of the roles of sex, gender, race and culture.

This document discusses the history of interpreting and writing about American Indian history. It notes that for many years, historians largely ignored or marginalized Native peoples in their writings about U.S. history. In recent decades, there has been a growing recognition of the need to incorporate Indigenous perspectives and include Native Americans as central rather than peripheral figures. However, writing Indian history presents challenges due to lack of Native literacy historically and because most scholars of Indian history are non-Native. The document examines methodological issues and debates surrounding the interpretation and teaching of American Indian history.

This document summarizes a study of CEO succession events among the largest 100 U.S. corporations between 2005-2015. The study analyzed executives who were passed over for the CEO role ("succession losers") and their subsequent careers. It found that 74% of passed over executives left their companies, with 30% eventually becoming CEOs elsewhere. However, companies led by succession losers saw average stock price declines of 13% over 3 years, compared to gains for companies whose CEO selections remained unchanged. The findings suggest that boards generally identify the most qualified CEO candidates, though differences between internal and external hires complicate comparisons.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
