The World’s First Marketplace
   for Medical Education
• Medical students’ learning needs are not
being satisfied in the current environment
• Most student have to turn to alternative
  resources to actually learn medicine
• Medical education needs to be disrupted

Bottom Line: Aspiring doctors are not reaching
their potential
• AgoraMed is the world’s first marketplace for medical
  education
• Expert clinicians and others can create comprehensive
courses through our platform and post them for a price of
  their choosing
• Medical students can purchase and view these courses in
  an interactive, collaborative learning enviromnet
• Reviews and ratings will elevate superior content. Focused
competition between course creators will ensure the
  highest quality products
• Everybody wins – students learn more, excellent teachers
gain scope and profits, and patients receive better care
Medical Student Market
• 70,000 medical Total Addressable Market
students in US alone • US: $35 M
   – 19,000 new entrants – Assuming $500/student
     annually • International: ~ $20M
• Many more students – Assuming $100/student

  internationally
   – Canada: 10,000
   – UK: 8000
   – India: 40,000
   – Carribean: 10,000
   – China: 100,000+

• 428 responses from 18 schools
  – Varied in class size, pedagogical methods
  – Both private and state schools, wide range of
    selectivity

Lecture Attendance is Really Poor
• Less than 1/3 of students attend lecture
  regularly (75-100% of the time)
• Most students “sometimes” or “often” use
outside resources instead of class material for
  primary learning.
• Review books such as First Aid are most
popular, as well as expert lectures
  (Goljan, Pathoma) and question banks.
Students Want Outside Resources
• A quarter of students used expensive private
  exam prep classes ranging $2,399 – 4,399
  (Kaplan).
• Review books, question banks, and practice
exams were used by the vast majority.
• Estimated average test prep expenditure is
  $1,226 per student.
• Most students said they would be willing to
use, and consider paying for, high-quality online
  lectures.
Question 9: In which subject areas
would you most like a video series?
70 There is demand for high-quality learning material
in every single subject in medical school!

Take Home Points
1. Medical students’ learning needs are not
being met sufficiently by their schools
2. Students spend significant time and money
to acquire learning material – the market is
   very sizeable
3. Students are seeking high-quality learning
materials, and they are willing to pay
• Revenue from the sale of videos
  – 70% to content creators
  – 30% to AgoraMed
• Subscription Services
  – File sharing/collaboration
  – Live teaching sessions
• Affiliate program
1. Medical education will be vastly improved
because now, future doctors will know exactly
where to go to learn what they need.
2. Patients will ultimately receive better care. More
   knowledgeable doctors = healthier patients
3. Global impact – no longer will elite medical
education be confined to the US. Doctors in
   resource-poor countries can access stellar
learning materials so they can treat their
   patients
