CASH TO HIRE County of Los Angeles received $150 Million in ARRA funds (American Recovery & Reinvestment Act)  Program pays up to $10 per hour and 40 hours per week.  Does not pay overtime All candidates are pre-screened Employer is encouraged to hire on after Sept. 2010 but are not obligated No limit to the number of employees Basically a “Bail-out” for employers!
TWO WAYS TO HIRE WORK EXPERIENCE (WEX) County of L.A. hires the employee and “temps” them out to the employer County handles insurance & taxes ON THE JOB TRAINING (OJT) Employer hires employee and is reimbursed wages by the County In both programs, job seekers are referred from the County of Los Angeles Worksource Center offices
REQUIREMENTS LA County Employers only Insurance Requirements General Liability 1-2  Workers Compensation Automobile (Only if positions requires driving) Candidates come through the county's 14 Worksource Offices Employer must contribute OJT valued at 20 percent of wages
