Leading the way of ethical best practice recruitment
in the Middle East
Nearly a decade ago I came to Dubai and was directed to assist
in the sourcing of candidates of the Terminal 3 project at Dubai
airport. Building the superstructure and subsequent fit-out
works. A steep learning curve from managing the recruitment
for JP Morgan Chase Manhattan in Glasgow, Scotland. I moved
my attention toward the client side roles to develop my skill set
and quickly made my mark as an effective recruiter for the
majority of the international 1st tier cost and PM consultants
operating in the region.
As the market grew, recruitment as a profession became a less
respectable one due to malpractice by even the bigger names
out there. We stuck to our guns and ensured that we work to a
strict ethical code and take our responsibility very seriously,
whether it’s representing a company on the market or dealing
with a persons livelihood and family.
Mike Roberts
Director
Mike joined the Taylor Sterling team in 2014 to strengthen
the Construction & Engineering division of the business. His
recruitment background has expanded over 20 years and 4
continents; originally from the UK he has travelled, worked
and recruited in Africa, The Middle East since 1999, then
completing some large projects in Australia in 2007. Mike’s
knowledge and experience ranges across the senior end of
professional recruitment including both contingency and
retained search and selection services.
Having Mike onboard with Taylor Sterling allows his
experience and knowledge to take an ‘outside of the box’
approach. This adds to the armory of services that Taylor
Sterling offers to its clientele. By being different, considering
real candidate attraction and going that extra mile after the
sale as well as before, Mike wants to change our industry for
the better.
Recruitment isn’t rocket science! Mike understands that
sometimes recruitment companies over complicate the
process by painting a corporate and highly polished
environment that doesn’t exist in the real world of everyday
businesses. Someone needs a job; someone needs a person
with a certain skill-set…the matching it up is what we do best!
Madeline Simm
Operations Manager
Madeline Simm joined the Taylor Sterling
team in 2014 and since then has
implemented best practice and streamlined
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). As
Operations Manager, Madeline Simm is
responsible for management of all operations
for Taylor Sterling, including data entry,
accounts payable, payroll, grant report entry,
managing the organizations HR, helping and
creating organizational and program budgets
in collaboration with each Manager and
Director.
Working with the management team,
Madeline responsible for ensuring
organizational effectiveness by providing
leadership for the organization's financial
functions and contribute to the development
and implementation of organizational
strategies, policies and practices.
Barry Rice
Consultant / Psychologist
Barry joined the Taylor Sterling team
in 2015 to provide an extended
understanding of talent competency
and provide his expertise on
occupational development of
candidates. Barry has brought his
experience and understanding as an
industrial psychologist dealing with
major clients and governments in the
United Arab Emirates, Gulf
Cooperation Council, Europe and
Sub-Saharan Africa. Barry is an
experienced organisation and people
development practitioner and
specialises in assessing and
developing organisation structures
and processes and aligning Talent
Strategies to support the business
strategy.

Leading the way of ethical best practice recruitment in the Middle East Nearly a decade ago I came to Dubai and was directed to assist in the sourcing of candidates of the Terminal 3 project at Dubai airport. Building the superstructure and subsequent fit-out works. A steep learning curve from managing the recruitment for JP Morgan Chase Manhattan in Glasgow, Scotland. I moved my attention toward the client side roles to develop my skill set and quickly made my mark as an effective recruiter for the majority of the international 1st tier cost and PM consultants operating in the region.   • 4. Mike Roberts Director Mike joined the Taylor Sterling team in 2014 to strengthen the Construction & Engineering division of the business. His recruitment background has expanded over 20 years and 4 continents; originally from the UK he has travelled, worked and recruited in Africa, The Middle East since 1999, then completing some large projects in Australia in 2007. Mike’s knowledge and experience ranges across the senior end of professional recruitment including both contingency and retained search and selection services.   • 5. Madeline Simm Operations Manager Madeline Simm joined the Taylor Sterling team in 2014 and since then has implemented best practice and streamlined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). As Operations Manager, Madeline Simm is responsible for management of all operations for Taylor Sterling, including data entry, accounts payable, payroll, grant report entry, managing the organizations HR, helping and creating organizational and program budgets in collaboration with each Manager and Director. Working with the management team, Madeline responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization's financial functions and contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.
