It is suitable for small production runs of large metal parts and high melting point metals. Die casting uses reusable metal dies and high pressure to produce many small, complex metal parts with high accuracy and little finishing. Investment casting produces parts with high tolerances using a lost wax process and ceramic molds. Forging involves shaping hot metal between dies or hammers to strengthen it and align the grain structure. Each process has advantages for different production quantities, part sizes, materials, and required properties.

This paper aims to study experimentally, the effect of partial replacement of fine aggregate by steel slag (ss), on
the various strength and durability properties of concrete by using the mix designs .the optimum percentage of
replacement of fine aggregate by steel slag is found. Workability of concrete gradually decreases, as the
percentage of replacement increases which is found using slump test. Compressive strength, tensile strength,
flexural strength and durability tests such as acid resistant’s, using HCL,H2SO4 and rapid chloride penetration,
are experimentally investigated.
The results indicate that for conventional concrete, partial replacement of concrete by steel slag improves the
compressive, tensile, flexural strength. The mass loss in cubes after immersion in acids is found to be very low.
Deflection in the RCC beams gradually increases, as the load on the beam increases, for the replacement. The
degree of fluoride ion penetrability is assessed based on the limits given in ASTM C 1202. The viability of use
of steel slag in concrete is found.
Waste management is one of the most common and challenging problems in the world. The steel making
industry has generated substantially solid waste. Steel slag is a residue obtained in steel making operation. This
paper deals with the implementation of steel slag as an effective replacement for sand. Steel slag ,which is
consider as the solid waste pollutant, can be used for road construction ,clinker raw materials, filling materials
etc. In this work, steel slag used as replacement for sand, which is also major component concrete mixture. This
method can be implement for producing hallow blocks, solid blocks, paver blocks, concrete structures etc.
Accordingly, advantages can be achieved by using steel slag instead of natural aggregates this will also
encourage other researchers to find another field of using steel slag.

Waste material disposal is considered as a difficult issue to adopt in current world. Waste metal, which has been
recognised as a major problem in the environment and resource deficiency, could have important implications in
the concrete construction industries. Waste metal utilisation in construction of reinforced cement concrete (RCC)
works is immerging in recent time. Construction industries are looking for cost effective structural materials and
utilisation of renewable materials. Metal waste such as chips of tin, still and other metal fragments which is
abandoned and spread in the environment could be utilize as a replacement of traditional steel reinforcement bar
in the RCC. In this experiment, three different types of waste metal have been compared with commercial 40, 60
and 72 graded steel reinforcement bar. Compressive strength class of C25 concrete was used in the experiment
and mechanical properties of concrete incorporating different waste metal were investigated in the first stage.
Finally, three-point bend test on short beam was performed to compare their performances. Smaller metal
fragments has shown better performance through micro crack bridging in concrete during loading stage and
hence better than ordinary reinforcement concrete structure in some extent.

- 3. Emerging from the rock and finally reaching the purest forms, “Life Cycle” (our proposal) symbolizes the art and science of steelmaking. In the foreground, we can see the World supported by the Steel , which is represented by the crystallographic direction with the greatest resistance in the iron. The latter proyects into the Universe, beyond the perimeter of the work’s base, as a sign of “supremacy” and “continuous development”. Linked shapes at the top and the design of the base are a sample of the steel transformation capability, thus accomplishing the inspiring idea of this creation . En partant de la roche et allant jusqu’au formes les plus pures, « Ciclo de Vida » ( la conception proposée ) symbolise l’art et la science de l’activité sidérurgique. Dans un premier plan on voit le Monde prenant appui sur l’Acier, représenté par la direction cristallographique de la plus grande résistance du Fer. Cette dernière s’ouvre à l’Univers en débordant le périmètre de la base de l'œuvre, signe de sa « suprématie » et « dépassement continuel » .
