Tron
Web 4.0 Blockchain Dapp Platform
What is Tron - Post TestNet
TestNet was launched on March 31, 2018
The launch of the testnet means that TRX will soon have its own mainnet, leaving
the ERC20 network, and provide features for developers and users. According to
the official information, TRON’s testnet has achieved all the functions of the basic
chain, including the operation of nodes, custom token creation, transactions,
voting, and data browsing.
- Taken from the Tron Foundation on Medium:
https://medium.com/@Tronfoundation/what-did-the-tron-technical-team-
share-after-the-testnet-was-launched-cd6241a8b87a
The Token
● Circulating Supply of 65,748,111,645 TRX
● Total Supply of 100,000,000,000 TRX
● Price is hovering between $.03 and $.04, was $.25 before the correction.
● They will implement a coin burn mechanism into place which will burn a small
amount for every transaction (kind of like Ripple). With free transactions.
● They will also charge 1024 TRX for any new Token created on their network.
That 1024 will be burned. Think if they get hundreds or thousands of tokens
created on their network in the years to come. 100 x 1024 = 102,400 - 1000 x
1024 = 1,024,000 tokens burned just for tokens created. - This is cool, but
LONG term effect.
● Will launch their own Token and Migrate on June 20 (ATM). More info April
15.
About
● Our tech team started out with only 10 people. Now there are 100+
● The team consists of some truly amazing, talented people, most of who used
to work at Baidu, Alibaba, and Tencent.
● 3 Teams
○ The first focuses on backend blockchain infrastructure.
■ primary goal is to optimize capacities and surpass Ethereum in all aspects, including
throughput, availability, and scalability. We’re aiming to provide the best public chain in
the blockchain world.
○ The second team works on blockchain products.
■ optimize user experience for our blockchain explorer, wallet, forums, and official site.
○ Last but not least is the operations team.
■ Research other blockchain projects to give a clear picture of the Marketing Landscape.
Main Features
● First is the high-performance TRON Protocol.
○ TPS (Transactions Per Second) exceeding 2,000 in offline tests.
○ In testnet, they generate one block every three seconds, and the reward for each block is 32
trx.
● The second is the token distribution platform(TDP).
○ TRON enables people to distribute tokens with smart contracts.
○ Comparing vs Ethereum’s VM-based approach, their system is more secure, efficient, and
convenient. Even people with zero programming experience will be able to distribute their own
decentralized tokensby using the API and smart contracts.
● The Third the testnet launch includes a web-based TRON wallet and
blockchain explorer.
○ Total of 11 seed nodes in the US, Europe, Singapore, Korea, and China for testing purposes.
What’s Next
● Odyssey 2.0 is expected to launch on May 31st. (More info on April 15).
○ Provide a reliable, secure, and high-performance settlement network and an on-chain
smart contract platform.
■ Performance and security trial run
■ Improve the DPoS mechanism
■ On-chain Resource isolation
● Odyssey 3.0 set for September.
○ Provide reliable, stable, and systematic support for third-party apps.
○ Launch high-performance unpluggable smart contract VM.
● Great Voyage 1.0 Q4 2018
○ Focuses on cross-chain communication and privacy protection
Closing Thoughts
I really like Tron.
Although there is a high Circulating and Total Supply of tokens the price reflects this. I.E. I
don’t expect Tron to go to $100, but since it’s currently at $.03+++ a move to $3 at some
point in the future would be around a 100x ROI.
The fact that they have an aggressive plan shows me that they are serious about growing
their platform to be an industry leader.
My concern is that IMO they don’t do a very good job communicating. Yes you can go to
Telegram to find info, but they are missing a perfect opportunity to create a CTA which goes
to a Landing Page with all updates, info.
