Compromís is a group of young candidates running for local elections in the village of Orba. They aim to improve coexistence for all residents no matter where they come from. They have organized language exchanges and cultural events to promote diversity. Their policies focus on improving communication and representation for non-Spanish residents, including more information in English, creating a town council position for a non-Spanish resident representative, offering Spanish lessons, and hosting cultural events in other languages. They want to be a fresh alternative to the major parties and make all residents feel included in village life.

1. Who are we?
Compromís are a group of young people
who understand that Orba is a village,
formed by 100% of its inhabitants, no
matter where they come from or where they
live. With this idea, and aiming to improve
coexistence among all the people, we are
one of the three candidates for the next
local elections. That is why we'd like to
introduce ourselves and get to know each
other better.
What have we done?
Compromís, compared with the two major
parties,are the people of fresh ideas.Young
people, who organized Tandem Orba,
exchanges of languages among people who
speak Spanish and people who, like you,
speak other languages. We are also the
people who organized the tapas contest, in
which Bar Mambo and others participated.
Finally we are the people who asked your
opinion about Orba, because we unders-
tand that your opinion is important.
These activities are typical of our ideas; we
understand the national diversity of Orba
as something positive and we are commit-
ted to improving the relations of all resi-
dents.
What are going to be our
policies?
We have based some on your opinions, and,
as we had said, we want to improve your
quality of life and especially the relations-
hips between Spanish people and you. For
these reasons,the following ideas are going
to be our policies.
> More and better information in English
on the local website, Facebook and paper
documents.
> Town council where one of the citizens
must be a person who represents the
needs and suggestions of the people who
were not born here.
> Remove the charge for disposal of green
waste from villagers.
> Improve the “Mercat de la terra” and the
Wednesday market.
> Create more parking near the center of
town.
> Continue with activities that promote
cultural exchange between neighbours,like
language exchanges, gastronomical
exchanges...
> Spanish lessons for people who were not
born here.
> Activities in other languages, like con-
certs and theaters in English.
> Progressive reduction in the burning of
plant debris in the campo.
> Adaptation and creation of activities
(agriculture, urban gardens, petanque ...) in
the municipal plots in the urbanizations.
> If you want to move to the town, we will
help you to find a home to rent or buy.
> Reduction of the IBI.
> We won’t burn green waste at the Eco-
park next to the Water Treatment Works.

2. IGNASI CERVERA
You know me. I am the carpenter’s son, and
I want to be your new Mayor.Would you help
me?
I know that you are people who have chosen
this quiet town as a place of residence.
However you haven’t been taken
into account as an ordinary citizen by
the Town Hall. Information reaches you
poorly, and cultural activities in your
language are nonexistent. To change
this you need a young Mayor with fresh
ideas. A Mayor whom you may speak in
your language. I’m able to be that Mayor.
