4. Student Eligibility
 Grade Point Average:
 JV/Varsity: 2.0 Cumulative High School Non-Weighted GPA, per FHSAA policy
 MS/Elementary: 2.0 GPA, must not receive an “F” for the semester prior to participation
 Physicals:
 Must be completed every calendar year. Students are ineligible for practices and/or games without a
current physical.

5. Transportation
 Trinity Christian Academy provides transportation to and from athletic games and practices
unless otherwise notified.
 Students may not use their personal vehicles to ride to games which dismiss during or are played
during school hours.

6. General Rules and Expectations
 Students must attend a minimum of 4 academic periods in order to be eligible to participate in
their sport on any given day.
 The homeroom/lunch period does not count as an academic period
 Students who receive detentions may not reschedule the detention due to athletic commitments
 Once a detention is served, the student is eligible to participate in any athletic practices or contests for
the remainder of the day
 Students are responsible for any work missed during class periods due to athletic contests.
 It is not the teacher’s responsibility to assign the work missed in class
 Any dismissal for an athletic event follows the same guidelines as any other day missed of school for
illness, doctor visit, vacation, etc.

7. Athletic Fees and Team Costs
 Trinity Christian Academy implements athletic fees on a per level basis:
 JV/Varsity: $300/year
 Middle School (Grades 6-8): $200/year
 Elementary (Grades 3-5): $150/year
 Athletic fees are non-negotiable and are applied based on the student being placed on the roster. Playing time,
number of games, illness, etc. do not alter the application of fees.
 Fees should be prayerfully considered before trying out for a team.
 Students who are promoted to a higher level team or play different sports at different levels will be assessed the fee
equal to, but not greater than, the highest level of participation of the student-athlete.
 All fees will be due at the beginning of the sport season, immediately following the completion of tryouts.
 Team costs may be assessed on a per team basis. These costs are at the discretion of the coach and should be
outlined prior to the sport season beginning in order to provide a reasonable expectation of complete costs for
participating in a given sport.

8. Conflict Resolution Protocol
1. Personal Meeting Between Parent and Coach
 Must not be within 24 hours of the game or practice in question

9. Sportsmanship
 Sportsmanship is an expectation at Trinity Christian Academy
 Student-Athlete Conduct
 Acts of unsportsmanlike conduct during a practice or contest will be handled quickly by the coaching
staff
 Disrespect for officials and/or coaches will result in dismissal from the team for a period of up to 6 weeks.
 Actions resulting in fines from the FHSAA will be paid entirely by the student-athlete who committed the
infraction.
 Any student who acts in an unsportsmanlike manner is required to meet with the Athletic Director prior
to regaining eligibility.

10. Sportsmanship Continued
 Spectator Conduct
 Bringing non-service animals to an athletic contest is prohibited.
 Respect, cooperate, and respond enthusiastically to cheerleaders from both teams
 Censor fellow spectators who display negative behavior
 Never heckle or distract members of the opposing team
 Never criticize the athletes or coaches for the loss of a contest
 Refrain from second-guessing
 Refrain from approaching the bench, dugout, or sideline during a game.
 Cheer for your team and not against the opponent

11. Admission Fees
 Trinity Christian Academy will charge admission for all home athletic contests. All spectators
should expect to pay for games based on the fee schedule outlined on the next slide.
 When attending an away game, the expectation should be that there will be an admission
charge. Parents should plan accordingly.
 All FHSAA playoff games (District, Regional, and State tournament games) require a mandatory
admission ($6 District, $7 Regional, State varies). All schools are required to charge this amount
to every spectator regardless of age or student status.
 PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT THERE TO BE NO ADMISSION FEE. BE PREPARED TO PAY AND
PLEASANTLY SURPRISED SHOULD THERE BE NO FEE.
 If you don’t want to pay for a TCA home game, then VOLUNTEER to keep score, keep the book,
work the admission table, or work the concession stand.

 Varsity Contest: $5
 JV Contest: $4
 Elementary/Middle School Contest: $3
 Non-TCA Students: $2
 Alumni: Free
 Current TCA Students: Free
 Current TCA Staff and Spouse: Free
 All FHSAA playoff games (District, Regional, and State tournament games) require a mandatory

13. Quitting a Team
 A student-athlete who quits a team is not eligible to participate in any other Trinity Christian
Academy affiliated team until the end of the season for the sport in which the athlete quit
 Quitting a team is defined as leaving a team at any point after being placed on the team’s official roster
as established by the coach.
 The student-athlete is responsible for any athletic fees owed based on making a team. The
athletic fee will not be removed on the account of a student-athlete deciding to leave a team.
 A student-athlete who is cut or does not make a team is immediately eligible to tryout for
another Trinity Christian Academy affiliated team.

14. Multi-Sport Athletes
 Trinity Christian Academy encourages students to participate in multiple sports throughout the
school year.
 In Season Multi-Sport Athletes
 The student must designate a primary and secondary sport by fully executing the dual sports form
provided by the athletic department.
 Coaches will work to accommodate multi-sport participation. Coaches are not permitted to
suggest to players that they specialize in one sport to the exclusion of others.

15. Gameday Attire
 Students have only 2 options for Gameday attire.
 Trinity Christian Academy provided Gameday shirt or uniform top for middle school and elementary
sports
 Trinity Christian Academy uniform
 All other forms of attire will be deemed out of dress code and will be handled per the rules
outlined in the Student Manual.

16. Closing Remarks
 Trinity Christian Academy strives for excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the stands.
