1. Woodlands Youth Rugby Club Player/Parent
Code of Conduct
All Players and Parents need to comply with the following Code of Conduct:
As a player or parent of the Woodlands Youth RC, I promise that I will:
1. Demonstrate good character while being honest, caring, trusting, considerate
and unselfish, as well as a credit to myself, my family, the staff, the players,
and others surrounding the Woodlands YRC program.
2. Respect myself, players, coaches, officials, opponents, and the game at all
times.
3. Give my best effort at all times.
4. Work towards the teams goals and help develop young rugby players.
5. No alcohol, tobacco, or drugs are to be used or consumed by any player
under the age of 21 at ANY WYRC event. Any parent hosting players or any
WYRC sponsored event, will NOT under any circumstances supply or allow
minors to consume alcohol.
6. Any alcohol consumed by a parent during a trip or any WYRC event should
be in moderation, and should any board member request you to stop, please
do so.
7. Foul language or abusive actions towards players, other staff, opponents,
officials, refs, and parents is forbidden at any time in person, on the phone,
over email or through any form of communication while representing the
WYRC. Those who fail to adhere to this rule could be removed from the
event and/or club immediately.
8. Please be cautious if approached by media. We want to promote the sport of
rugby as a safe, positive youth activity in our community, and our
communication with media should facilitate this promotion. If possible, please
have a BOD member with you or consult with them prior to giving statements
to the media.
a. This includes the “social media” (so Facebook, etc.) –do not publish
teammates personal information, use vulgar or indecent language,
material which abuses or threatens others, or material that advocates
illegal activity. The aforementioned includes both writing and
photographs.
Grievance Procedure
1. If you feel that you have a grievance with your respective program or any
staff, player, family, official, then you must inform the team manager and
director by email within 7 days of the incident occurring.
2. The team manager or director will acknowledge receipt of the complaint.
3. The Board of Directors will review the grievance and respond within 14 days
with a final decision.
