art with every purchase. Known for
hallucinogenic oil portraits, San Francisco-
based artist Emilio Villalba is merging the
worlds of fine art and high fashion with an
exclusive collaboration alongside Maison
Valentino for this years Art Basel in Miami.
The limited edition capsule collection
reimagines a series of the iconic Valentino
Garavani VSLING Bags displaying playful,
one-of-a-kind works hand-painted by Villalba
himself. Pre-Basel, we got the chance to
speak with the artist on his inspiration behind

3. Riot Games has teamed up with designer
fashion brand Louis Vuitton to create an
exclusive collection of League of
Legends apparel. You can check out the
exclusive collab on the Louis Vuitton website,
with items ranging from multiple hundreds to
thousands of dollars.
This isn't the first time Riot Games has
partnered with the fashion brand, as Louis
Vuitton skins were released in League of
Legends this past November. However,
purchasing something from the LVxLoL
collection will cost a bit more than purchasing
an in-game skin – with the most expensive
item coming in at over $5,000.

4. U.K. shoe giant Dr. Martens has announced a
collaboration with Boston-born streetwear
store Bodega.
To highlight the Dr. Martens x Bodega shoes,
Bodega featured a written piece and video on
their signage artist, Kenji Nakayama.
Nakayama tells the story of how he became

5. To celebrate this landmark exhibition – which
also marks the 500-year anniversary of da
Vinci’s death – The Louvre Museum has
collaborated with modern game changer Virgil
Abloh.
The new Off-White™ collection celebrates the
artist’s work in a contemporary fashion
context, bringing together two creative fields
that can sometimes seem at odds. To bring
the Louvre into your wardrobe, the collection
plays with a combination of Off-White’s
graphic branding and da Vinci’s iconic
masterpieces.
Paintings like Saint Anne and Virgin of the
Rocks appear on a range of hoodies and
shirts, along with a number of the artist’s

6. Olimpia Zagnoli, the Milan-based illustrator and
author has become a regular fixture in both the
art and fashion scenes. Zagnoli's signature
colorful, shape-centered drawings are hanging in
Paris exhibitions, applied floor-to-ceiling in the
first-ever Italian Uniqlo store, covering issues
of The New Yorker, printed on Prada graphic
tees. Tasked with illustrating artwork to celebrate
the legacy of the brand's cult Eight Hour Cream
— originally created by Arden herself in 1930
and a popular choice for makeup
artists throughout fashion week — Zagnoli
designed everything from the packaging to the
promotional ads.
And now, Zagnoli is lending her design expertise
to the beauty space with a new limited edition
collection for one of the most established names
in American cosmetics: Elizabeth Arden.

color of the year. Unique Vintage has teamed
up with color brand Pantone to bring classic

through apparel. Unique Vintage brand styles
such as the sleek mod wiggle and the flirty
frenchie top are reimagined in the shade, all
available in sizes XS-5X.

8. The Champion X Coca-Cola capsule
collection practically oozes American
nostalgia. Pieces feature bright and bold
graphics evolved from the soda's archived
artwork using 1980s-style primary colors and
their old slogan, "It's the real thing." Clothing
and accessories for both men and women
feature vintage glass bottle artwork
and intricate embroidery with Champion's

red, green, purple, orange and blue.

9. The pro gamer puts his own spin on the brand’s
Nite Jogger silhouette. Sneaker collaborations
used to be the domain of world-class athletes.
These days, pro gamers are getting their own
shoes, too. Video game streamer Ninja teamed up
with Adidas back in August, and the brand has
finally revealed the gamer's signature sneaker. The
Ninja Nite Jogger features a mesh and leather
upper in the gamer's signature blue. The medial
sides of shoes are printed with "Ninja" and "Time
In" text graphics on top of a pattern of crossed
shurikens. Using the Nite Jogger as a base is a
weird pull; the silhouette isn't nearly as popular as
some of Adidas' other models like the NMD, Ultra
Boost or Superstar. But the Ninja fans who would
be buying these probably aren't too concerned https://www.engadget.com/2019/12/18/adidas-ninjas-sneaker-collab-dec-

work boots, it is pretty hard to beat Red Wing.
The company has been turning out quality
footwear for over 100 years, and that heritage
means longlasting boots that look just as great
now as they did back in 1905. Now, the iconic
brand is teaming up with Japanese streetwear

up — like a perfect Port and Bleu Cheese —
to offer a collection of curated wines you won’t
want to miss out on.
Wine Insiders, in case you’re not familiar, is
the go-to spot on the web for great wine at
great prices. The company announced in a
press release that they’re thrilled to join forces

13. Now Snap has enlisted Gucci's frequent
collaborator Harmony Korine on a short film for
Snapchat, and guess what? It stars a
skateboarding hot dog. Shot entirely on Snapchat
Spectacles (which are "smartglasses" that directly
record whatever they're seeing), the mini-movie is
a dream within a fever dream, blending Korine's
penchant for Lisa Frank rainbow parties (last
seen in Spring Breakers) with fuzzy bears,
vintage luggage, and Miami Beach lifeguards. It is
called Duck Duck and there are no ducks...
though Bergdorf Goodman does have a
Gucci mallard print blouse available now.
For those equally interested in fashion and film
theory, good news: Mr. Korine called us to
discuss the Spectacles x Gucci project, which
naturally has a social media component—there's

across social platforms, and, most recently,
collaborated with Tarte Cosmetics on a

16. Ford has produced a new way to make parts, and
they've collaborated with McDonalds to help them
out. McDonald's throws out millions of kilograms
worth of coffee chaff (or grounds), which is the
dry skin of the bean. Instead of throwing it out,
McDonald's will be providing Ford with the chaffs
and they will make parts out of that.
Ford will be mixing the chaffs with plastic then
melt it down, mold it, then install the parts on the
car. That way, Ford uses less plastic materials
and, at the same time, do their part in recycling
and reducing waste. Ford even claims that the
coffee-plastic material is actually more durable
and heat resistant than conventional plastic
moldings. It's also lighter too, which helps keep
the cars from ballooning to heavy curb weights.

up installation look like? Especially when it
includes the reggaeton megastar J. Balvin, an
iconic children’s brand most millennials grew
up on, and a hometown artist. Louis De
Guzman, the Filipino pop artist connected with
J.Balvin. De Guzman says there was a mutual
admiration for each other’s work and upon
Balvin’s request, he slid into the singer’s DMs.
The two built a friendship. Then the
opportunity for them to fuse their creativity
together to celebrate SpongeBob’s 20th
anniversary presented itself. A partnership

celebrity-owned lines that have launched this
year, closing out 2019 is one of the more
exciting collections: "Hola Chola," Becky G's
fourth collaboration with Colourpop. Inspired

she grew up loving during her childhood in Los
Angeles — cherry roller lip gloss and all — the
collection features a 12-pan matte eyeshadow
palette, two pressed powder bronzers, three
lip bundles (which contain one matte liquid
lipstick and one lippie pencil each), a black
liquid eyeliner pen, and of course, the iconic
cherry-flavored roller lip gloss.
