1. Treatment:
I am going to be creating a promotional package including a music
video, advert and digipak based around the song “Good
intentions” by disclosure which was released in their 2016 album
Caracal. The reasons behind me choosing this song in particular is
because the band have recently been performing in a continuous
number of festivals including Reading and Leeds. As they have
such a high publicity right now I wanted to use them as I know
they are well known meaning my video will already have a high
target audience of their fan-base.
My video follows a teenage couple named Myles and Alyssia who
have been dating for around a year and have recently broken up.
The video follows the two after the break-up. The video opens
with Alyssia who sits down and begins to look through photos of
her and Myles as is it clear he is still on her mind. From looking at
these photos we then see flashbacks of the two at much happier
times. We then see Myles who is sat in his car and he too looks
very distressed and again it is clear he is thinking about her. We
see more flashbacks as he thinks about the relationship. However,
as the song develops they show the relationships flaws as the
couple are arguing in a majority of them. It then becomes
apparent that the relationship ended on bad terms. The
Flashbacks include the first time they met, along side an argument
to show the contrast from happy times and sad times. Myles gets
out of the car and walks towards Alyssia’s house, he then knocks
on the door and Alyssia opens it.
We see a mid shot of Alyssia as she doesn’t look happy to see him,
we then see a collection of happy flashbacks of the two before the
song ending on a close up shot of Myles as he smiles into the
camera before the video ends.
