This document outlines 12 scenes for a movie trailer. Scene 1 shows the protagonist Chris at his lowest point after a breakup. Scene 2 establishes that his girlfriend died, leaving him upset. Scene 3 shows Chris discussing his grief with family. Scene 4 depicts his growing anger. Scene 5 introduces Candice, who looks identical to Chris' late girlfriend. Scene 6 shows their conversation, with Chris becoming infatuated. Scenes 7-8 develop Chris' obsession with spending time with Candice. Scenes 9-10 depict him beginning to stalk her. Scenes 11-12 feature a sexual encounter between them that turns violent, with Chris appearing ready to rape Candice, before the trailer ends.

1. Candice//Tangent Trailer

2. Scene 1 & 2
 Scene 1: Chris stands on/in a rural type area looking
rather scruffy and dishevelled, the audience will assume
this is him at his lowest. Shots used: Close Up, Long
Shot, Mid Shot. This part of the trailer depicts the end of
the narrative.
 Scene 2: Chris, now less scruffy but still dishevelled, sits
in his flat holding a picture of his girlfriend (perhaps on
his phone) looking very upset, the audience will think the
girlfriend has recently died and the non diagetic sound of
police sirens will give the audience the idea that she was
involved in a crime/accident. Shots Used: C.U of face.
C.U of picture. M.Shot. This may quickly establish the
disequilibrium (theory by Todorov) that will feature
throughout the trailer’s entirety.

3. Scene 3 & 4
 Scene 3: Chris talks to a member of family or friend
about his now fairly distant grief and how he is coping.
This would be to connect the audience to Chris and relate
to his grief, only to be brought out by Candice who will
appear soon. His family will hint at him moving on.
Shots used: M.S
 Scene 4: Chris becomes angry in front of his mirror,
something that may be repeated later in the trailer to
emphasise the difference in his look. Shots Used:
M.Shot
 Scene 4 Sound: Chris plays a voicemail his girlfriend left
him before her death. This could tie in with scene 2 and
could exist only as sound that would play over scene 4&5

4. Scene 5 & 6
 Scene 5: Chris patrols the streets and comes across Candice,
who looks exactly like his late girlfriend and a close up will
make it evident (to the audience) that the likeness will
contribute to the main narrative. Shots Used: C.U, M.S, 2.S
 Scene 6: Candice and Chris sit in a room thought to be a
brothel bedroom having a conversation about Candice’s job
and how she remains professional around her customers and
Chris remains completely interested throughout. This scene
will show the audience that Chris has a keen interest in
Candice and his infatuation will be shown on his face
predominantly through this scene. Shots Used: M.S, C.U.
When Candice continues to speak about her professional life,
Chris’ face will be seen (her voice will be in the background)
and the audience will see his obsession starting.

5. Scene 7 & 8
 Scene 7: Chris begins to check his bank balance in
anticipation that he can afford to continue his affairs
with Candice. Shots Used: C.U of bank statement
and M.S of Chris.
 Scene 8: Chris talks to the same friend/family
member about how things are improving and he’s
ready to move on. Shots Used: M.S, 2.S

6. Scene 9 & 10
 Scene 9: His obsession continues. He begins stalking
Candice during the moments he can’t be with her
and seems to get agitated at the thought of her with
other customers. Shots Used: L.S, M.S, C.U
 Scene 10: Candice becomes aware of someone
following her at weird times. This will be shown on
her face. Shots Used: C.U, L.S, M.S

7. Scene 11 & 12
 Scene 11: Chris meets up with Candice again.
Candice is a bit flustered and frantic but it becomes
evident that she seeks comfort in Chris, something
he is eager to give. Shots Used: C.U, M.S. No
Speech
 Scene 12: In a bedsit/hostel, Chris and Candice sit
there, most likely post-sex. Candice becomes
reluctant to Chris’ serious advances and starts
resisting. Chris gets violent and appears as if he will
rape her. Shots Used:
 The trailer cuts to black and features the end titles.
