A disturbed man kills his son with an axe in a kitchen late at night. A group of friends who have been drinking pull up to an abandoned property seeking shelter for the night. As they explore the empty house, one of them goes upstairs and encounters a masked, disfigured man who disappears after lightning flashes. They find no one else in the house.

1. Treatment: walking on sunshine
Inside house-kitchen-night
Walking down the corridor, axe in hand scraping along the walls as he slowly makes
his way towards the kitchen his breathing loud and heavy, he limps with a wound
from older scrapes. He arrives at the door turning the handle with a nervous twitch,
the door creaks, once in he slams the door behind him in anger and frustration before
limping over toward the table.
Outside in car-track-dusk:
There in a car as it pulls up to the long drive, there worried because they have
nowhere to spend the night and realise that this mysterious lane is there best hope,
they have little money because of the booze filled night beforehand. They come
across an old sign and an abandoned building and decide to investigate.
Inside house kitchen-night:
The disturbed man lurks his way over to the crying a little boy sitting at the table, he
slams the axe into the cable, he then thumps the table and stares at the terrified boy
sitting in front of him before picking the boy up and throws him on the floor with a
heavy force, the boy drags himself to the corner of the room before the boy
apologises and moves into the corner of the room dragging his legs behind him, his
breathing heavy and fast, before the man raises his axe and dispatches his son with
fury and no remorse.
Outside-driveway-dusk:
They pull up to the drive cautiously making sure that they are silent, they all get out
and stumble forwards with bottles clanging at their feet. One of them shouts to his
friends to check around looking for anybody else. There’s no response or movement
form the eerie property, they slowly move into the house so they shout altogether
hoping for a response, nothing. So they then creep further into the house, the door
slams shut behind them and they creep on in.
Inside house-night
They all go looking for somewhere appropriate to spend the night, they realise that
the house has been abandoned for a number of years. They don’t find anything so
they send someone upstairs whilst the others are looking around the remaining
rooms downstairs.
Inside house-stairway-night
He comes down stirs after no luck looking for someone else, lightning sticking
outside, and out on the landing the menacing man makes his appearance, a mask
covers his scared and dirty disfigured face. Then another piece of lightning comes
through the window illuminating the worried faces of the inhabitants and the
mysterious man has disappeared. He tells the others that he has found nothing and
no one, and re-joins the group.
