Treatment
It is late at night on a Sunday evening, the streets are
empty, and no one is to be seen. It is a windy night and
the rain is heavy, bins on streets are falling and a storm
is lying ahead. A young couple is sitting within their car,
driving down the road.
The scene begins with the couple bickering about where they
are to stay the night because of the terrible weather
suspected; there is subtle calming music within the
background foreboding the chaos ahead. Then a wet newspaper
suddenly hits the front of the car on the page of rooms to
let. The man of the couple stops the car, jumps out and
grabs the paper, and reads it aloud to his wife and then
directs the woman to the house in the advert.
The couple pulls up into a quiet side road and pulls up
into the drive of the address on the advert. The man
directs the woman to remain in the car whilst he knocks on
he door. The man knocks on the door, which opens by it-self.
The man peers round the corner and no one is to be
seen. He turns to his wife directing her to follow him into
the house. As they both enter the moment of disequilibrium
occurs, the door slams shut behind them and they are
trapped within complete darkness, here a tone card appears
with the word “trapped”.
The woman turns to the door frantically shaking the handle
trying to escape, at this point a tone card appears with
the word “panic”. Realizing that there is no escape the
couple continues into the house. They walk down a long,
confined corridor were a dim light is seen within the
distance. The couple walks towards this hoping this is a
sign of hope.
They reach the light and try to use it to direct them
around, when they turn round written on the wall in blood
is the words “help me”. At this point the woman screams and
starts to run around the house, looking for an escape, they
couple are separated, the doors of the rooms lock suddenly
and they are isolated, which appears on a tone card.
In a room downstairs is a big grandfather clock, which
chimes loudly every hour, on the hour. When the clock
chimes each member in the house is faced with their wildest
of fears, in turn. There will be a series of fast shots
were the couple are shown as suffering through having to
face these fears to survive, they are faced with a series
of mystical creatures, supernatural elements and real life
fears of which they have had nightmares of since a young
child.
The woman is lastly faced with the recurring fear of
falling and never returning and this is of which the point
the trailer will finished with the woman falling down a
hatch in the room of which she has been trapped in. The
title of the film, Trapped, will then appear, followed by
‘coming soon’. Ratings by popular newspapers and magazines
will then follow this.
