The film "The Thicket" is a horror/supernatural film about a group of five friends who go on a walk in the woods near an area called the Thicket, known for a local legend of an unsettled soul that haunts the area. As they explore, things start to go wrong and the friends are picked off one by one. By the end, only one friend survives but is accused of the others' disappearances. Upon returning to the scene, even she is killed by the wraith. The film was influenced by "Blair Witch Project" and uses found footage style. 2. Synopsis
In winter 2012 a group of five friends Emily Nightingale, John Woods, Sarah Stevenson, Danny Moran and Natalie
Serridge, are drinking on a Friday after college and discussing the Thicket wraith which is a ‘legend’ of a soul that is
unsettled and haunts the Thicket. They then decided it is a good idea to take their dogs for a walk in search for the
Wraith. As soon as they get to the woods it is going dark and things are feeling a bit eerie, the dogs are on the lead and
are pulling away from its owner, Natalie Serridge, and barking toward something which isn’t there. One of the dogs is let
off the lead and runs off into the distance. The group of friends are discussing whether or not to separate and go after the
dog and have decided that they are not in any real danger and decide to do so. They are now all separated in the woods
and things start to go wrong. The audience hear a piercing scream; the characters realise that it’s Sarah Stevenson and
we see the reactions of the other four characters as they start to run in the direction of the noise to investigate. Three of
the characters turn up at the scene with Danny Moran missing and as they look around, all they find of Sarah Stevenson is
a dog lead with blood on the handle. The characters are picked off one by one and only Sarah Stevenson, the first
character to go missing, survives. She is then interviewed by the police and is eventually found responsible for the
murders and disappearances of her friends due to lack of evidence. She is escorted back to the crime scene by the police
to help locate the bodies. Upon arrival, the wraith strikes again and kills the police and Sarah. The final scene is of a
young girl walking her dog in the same area of the Thicket. The dog runs off and the final shot is of the girl screaming her
dog’s name and running after him. The audience should assume that the young girl will meet the fate of the group before.

Blair witch project this influenced because the idea of camping in the woods. Also, the legend of the Blair
witch and going searching for it.
Rec influenced us because of the use of hand-held cameras in the dark.
