Title:The Walk

Genre: Horror

Sub-genre:Slasher/ psychological

Location: University Campus/ Large house in an isolated location/ Dark woodland area.

Character types and functions:Psycho Villain, 4-5 stereotypical teenagers – male and
females and 2 couples. Helper most likely a police officer who tries to help victims but, ends
up getting killed due to trying to help them by the villain. Last girl standing isthe only girl still
alive at the end a fighter and a hero.

Act 1:There is a sense of Equilibrium at the beginning of the trailer which goes along with
Vladimir Propps theory. The trailer is introduced to a normal society of teenage university
students that are getting ready for a spring break. They are in their second year and decide
to head off somewhere different to the campus so they then decide to go out and find a
house somewhere to live instead of living at their university onsite campus.

Act 2:A disruption of Disequilibrium is introduced where one of the students has then found
a strange, isolated looking house, which is in a large woodland area where she hears and
sees something strange lurking around in the woods, she feels she should find out who or
what is there. Howevershe then gets distracted by her friend which then leads toBarthes’s
Enigma code asthis leads toaudiences wanting to find out whom or what was there? What
happened next? This makes the audience question something and intrigues the audience to
therefore draw their attention into the film.

Act 3:Last girl standing is left last in the trailer, there is no resolution yet to the trailer this
automatically creates an enigma and opening an ending leading to a sequel.

Logline:‘The Walk’ is a slasher and psychological horror film about a group of teens who
become overexcited about their spring break but, unaware of the surroundings, and direct
tragedy of a number of deaths.

Who, what, when, why and where: The main synopsis of our horror movie is teenage
characters- equilibrium, are planning a spring break (which is normal at thebeginning of
atrailer/movie). Shot of teenage stock characters arriving together at woodland area looking
happy. A stock female character heard a noise and notices someone is lurking around. She
is then distracted by other friends and couples becoming over excited about being offsite
campus. Characters then start to go missing, the villain is then introduced killing and taking
the teenagerslives. The last girl standing is left.
