17. Vision & rationale 17
To build a Centre of Excellence which is globally recognised as the
first place to find expertise when exploiting opportunities or
managing risk in a transport systems environment
A single physical location will:
• Provide attractive, well-equipped environment
• Facilitate collaboration
• Maximise access and support for companies and SMEs
• Facilitate innovation
Additional „pop-up‟ or satellite space will:
• Temporarily extend the reach
• Help build the Catapult‟s network
• Provide flexible presence
• Create attractively local facilities

21. Process & next steps 21
The steps in the process are:
• Refine draft criteria, priorities and method of evaluation
• Socialise the approach with the TSCat community
• Share approach and feedback from the TSCat community with the IAG, and seek
agreement on the criteria, priorities and evaluation
• Share the approach with Ministers and other key stakeholders
• Evaluate options and identify shortlist
• Identify potential spaces/buildings
• Present a shortlist of options, potential spaces/buildings and results of evaluation, to
