The Online EDCS-IS Web App is a centralized online platform for reporting notifiable epidemic-prone diseases. It aims to streamline surveillance processes and simplify data transmission and management across disease reporting units, laboratories, and the Epidemic Bureau. The web app allows real-time reporting and management of surveillance data. It addresses issues with the current PIDSR software such as redundant data processes and late reporting due to validation. The web app has different user levels for inputting, viewing, and validating case reports which flow from sentinel sites to regional and national surveillance units.

2. What is the Online EDCS-IS Web App
Is an Online / Web Based reporting platform with centralized database that
will serve as the data collection tool developed and specifically designed for
Case Investigation Forms (CIFs) and Case report Forms (CRFs) of all the
notifiable diseases under the Epidemic-prone Disease Case Surveillance.
It aims to link all DRUs and ESUs, as well as laboratory network to a single
integrated application that will streamline surveillance processes and
simplify data transmission and management operations.
It will also allow the EDCS to have advantage in terms of data archiving, data
management, and real time reporting of surveillance data for notifiable
diseases.

3. Main Objective of the Online EDCS-IS
● Provide an effective and efficient integrated online platform for reporting
EDCS notifiable diseases.
● To be main the solution for the perennial issues of the current PIDSR
software.
