What is the Online EDCS-IS Web App
Is an Online / Web Based reporting platform with centralized database that
will serve as the data collection tool developed and specifically designed for
Case Investigation Forms (CIFs) and Case report Forms (CRFs) of all the
notifiable diseases under the Epidemic-prone Disease Case Surveillance.
It aims to link all DRUs and ESUs, as well as laboratory network to a single
integrated application that will streamline surveillance processes and
simplify data transmission and management operations.
It will also allow the EDCS to have advantage in terms of data archiving, data
management, and real time reporting of surveillance data for notifiable
diseases.
Main Objective of the Online EDCS-IS
● Provide an effective and efficient integrated online platform for reporting
EDCS notifiable diseases.
● To be main the solution for the perennial issues of the current PIDSR
software.
Key Perennial Issues of PIDSR software
● Standalone software
● Redundant data management processes (data cleaning, validation,
merging) at different levels
● Late submission of reports due to validation procedures
