This document summarizes an analysis of export incentive schemes and problems faced by textile exporters in Ludhiana, India. It finds that exporters primarily export to Europe, USA, Korea, and Bangladesh and face issues with customs clearance delays, banking services, and technology. It also examines the major export incentive schemes in India like DEPB, duty drawback, FMS, and FPS. The analysis is based on a sample of 25 exporters and finds that withdrawal of incentive schemes has negatively impacted exporter margins and that exporters face problems with documentation, refunds, infrastructure, and customs clearance.
