one to me was the bright/neon colours on a dark
background, as if the director is trying to drag our eyes
towards it and make us notice it, I think it is especially
powerful in this trailer though as it helps the audience
understand which way the narrative is heading.

4. The editing is done rather conventionally in this trailer, a wide variety of shots has been used and the
editing is very neat and traditional to a thriller trailer. There are a few cases of cuts to black in the
trailer, or very quick cuts to black showing a video as almost stop motion. This provokes excitement
in the audience and created an exciting and mysterious feel to the trailer. The editor also used
many close ups of Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, this will have been done to remind the audience
of the star roles in the trailer.

6. All the way through the trailer is littered with reoccurring themes
There is wide use of the classic Bladerunner pistol, this gives fans of
the original some connection instantly to the film. There is also lots of
use of the colours yellow and pink (in massivecontrast to the blues
and greens of the original film). This gives the film a nice aesthetic
and looks very appealing to the audience, they are also two
colours you wouldn’t exactly expect to see in a thriller, but does
give a good effect to the trailer.

7. The trailer is quite against the grain in terms of its not as quickly
edited as an average normal trailer, which I personally enjoy
more and think I will try to go for over a quickly edited piece. I
think this because it helps the messages I hope to present get
over to a wider audience easier whilstallowing me to dwell on
certain parts of the trailer more
