TRADITIONAL ALBANIAN FOLK
GAMES
STICK AND CINGEL
The game is played with the help of two sticks of
two different sizes. The small stick is placed on
the ground. With the big stick, it is hit and
moved from the position. After that, the one who
hit the stick places it on the ground. grabs the
throwing stick and hits it in the direction of the
stick placed on the ground. the raised stick falls
perpendicular to where the stick thrown by the
second player is.
GAME WITH
CUPS AND
BEANS
Taking 12 glasses of (non-
transparent) water, an individual
hides any grain (usually a penny
grain under one of the inverted
cups. While one of the players
mixes the glasses, the others close
their eyes. The moment the player
runs out, each player must open
the loops and choose a glass. The
one who finds the glass where the
grain is hidden wins the game.
LINE GAME
Using a chalk (or any type of tool that makes
it possible to mark a certain area) are usually
built four squares that form a 2x2 table. A foil
(square stone) is placed in one of the squares.
Then, the player tries to pass the stone from
one square to another. The game is won when
the stone reaches the starting position after
passing all the squares. The game is played in
turn, and each of the players has a certain
number of points that start with 0. When it is
decided to close the game, the player with the
most points wins the game.
GAME WITH 7 TILES
7 tiles are taken and lined up one after
the other. Using a ball, the player tries to
drop the tiles. The one who manages to
knock down all the tiles wins the game.
CIC MIC
In a created table, each player
tries to place 3 ranked stones
one after the other. Each of the
players places one stone in a
row. Each player has 6 stones.
This game is a strategic game
where each player, in addition to
creating the row of his from the
stones must also take care that
the opponent does not reach the
goal before him.
VAULTING HORSE
A group of players is divided into two teams. The two teams
throughout the game are in opposite positions. The first position is
that of dancing. The second is that of the players lined up one after
the other. "In the absence of a supporting surface. At the beginning
of the game the lot is drawn to select the position of each team, as
well as the space of integers that will be used later. After the
positions are divided, then the team to be thrown, chooses a number
which then writes it on a surface hidden by the other team. After that,
they jump on the backs of the players of the ranked team. After all
are thrown the second team suggests a number. If this number is the
one written on the surface of hidden, then the teams change position.
Otherwise the steps are repeated, from the selection of the number.
Except this rule, the game is resumed with the same positions if the
second team fails to hold ine and positions are changed if the first
team errs in jumping.
5 CARD GAMES
The 5-storey game is a traditional Albanian
card game whichconsists of 5 floors. The first
4 floors are called the Pig Game and the 5th
floorof and the last is called the Game of
Sevens. This game is played with four
players. The cards are shuffled and dealt to the
players. Eachfrom players receives 13 cards.
The purpose ofthe game is to get as many
points, the one who has less losespoints.
FINGER PULL
The participants, divided into two teams, are placed opposite each
other, forming pairs between them in order to have a length or rather
a more or less equal body weight. The players of each pair are placed
with the right foot in front, coinciding with the outside of it that of
the partner and with the left foot behind. The two partners
simultaneously connect the thumb of the right hand. After the "start"
sign, given by the game leader, the two of them put all their strength
to pull the friend away from himself or to catch his finger stuck with
his. The one who moves drawn by the other or who releases the grip
of the finger loses the game.
