25 They asked him, “Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, 27 even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” 28 These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. INTRODUCTION
SAME AS WALKING WITH GOD, AND WALKING BY FAITH, IT IS
IMPORTANT TO WALK WITH PRAYER.
“TOGETHER BY PRAYER”
WHY?
BECAUSE OUR GOD, LORD, SAVIOR AND FOUNDEROF
THE CHURCH EMPHASIZED IT THROUGH HIS LIFE HERE ON
EARTH
4. PRAYER LIFE OF OUR FOUNDER
Matthew 26:36
“Then cometh Jesus with them
unto a place called Gethsemane,
and saith unto the disciples, Sit
ye here, while I go and pray
yonder.”(KJV)
5. PRAYER LIFE OF OUR FOUNDER
MARK 1:35
“And in the morning, rising up a
great while before day, he went
out, and departed into a solitary
place, and there prayed.”(KJV)
6. PRAYER LIFE OF OUR FOUNDER
Luke 3:21
“Now when all the people were
baptized, it came to pass, that
Jesus also being baptized, and
praying, the heaven was
opened,”(KJV)
7. PRAYER LIFE OF OUR FOUNDER
JOHN 17:9
“I pray for them: I pray not for
the world, but for them which
thou hast given me; for they are
thine.”(KJV)
8. PRAYER LIFE OF OUR FOUNDER
THE GOSPEL WRITTERS
INTRODUCED CHRIST IN
DIFFERENT WAYS:
BUT THEY ALL INTRODUCED THE
LORD JESUS CHRIST AS
PRAYERFUL
9. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
MATTHEW 21:13
“And said unto them, It is
written, My house shall be called
the house of prayer; but ye have
made it a den of thieves.”(KJV)
10. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
MATTHEW 21:13
PLACES WHERE THE BELIEVERS
GATHER THEMSELVES TOGETHER
AS OUR PLACE NOW IS
“HOUSE OF PRAYER”
11. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
Acts 1:14
“These all continued with one
accord in prayer and
supplication, with the women,
and Mary the mother of Jesus,
and with his brethren.”(KJV)
12. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
Acts 1:14
EVEN BEFORE PENTECOST (THE
EMPOWERMENT OF THE
CHURCH) THE 120 BELIEVERS
GATHER THESELVES TO PRAY
13. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
Acts 2:42
“And they continued stedfastly in
the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of
bread, and in prayers.”(KJV)
14. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF THE
CHURCH
AND ITS MINISTRIES
Acts 2:42
PRAYERS AND PRAYER MEETINGS
ARE THE MARKS OF THE
CHURCH OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST!
15. WE OATH TO CONTINUE WHAT THE
LORD BUILT, AND KEPT BY EARLY
CHRISTIANS
BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING
TODAY?
Leonard Ravenhill wrote these convincing
words years ago. Are still true today?
16. WHAT IS HEPPENING TODAY
• The church has many
organizers,
• many who pay
• many resters
• many who are enterprising
• but few agonizers
• but few who pray
• but few wrestles
• but few who are interceding
People who are not praying are playing!!!.
17. Two prerequisite of dynamic
Christian living are vision and
passion. Both of these are
generated by prayer.
The ministry of preaching is open to
few. The ministry of praying is open
to every child of God.
18. Tithes may build the church
(building), but tears will give it life
REMEMBER THAT THE CHURCH WAS
PURCHASED BY THE PRECIOUS
BLOOD OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
19. Acts 20:28
“Take heed therefore unto
yourselves, and to all the flock, over
the which the Holy Ghost hath made
you overseers, to feed the church of
God, which he hath purchased with
his own blood.”(KJV)
20. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE
MODERN AND EARLY CHURCH
MODERN CHURCH
•Our emphasis is on
paying
•When we have paid,
the place is taken.
EARLY CHURCH
•theirs was on praying
•When they have
prayed, the place was
shaken (Acts 4:31).
21. THE LORD SAID…
Luke 18:1
“And he spake a parable unto
them [to this end], that men
ought always to pray, and
not to faint;”(KJV)
22. THE LORD SAID…
Matthew 26:41
“Watch and pray, that ye
enter not into temptation: the
spirit indeed [is] willing, but
the flesh [is] weak.”(KJV)
23. THE LORD SAID…
Mark 11:24
“Therefore I say unto you, What
things soever ye desire, when ye
pray, believe that ye receive
[them], and ye shall have
[them].”(KJV)
24. THE LORD SAID…
Luke 21:36
“Watch ye therefore, and pray always,
that ye may be accounted worthy to
escape all these things that shall come
to pass, and to stand before the Son of
man.”(KJV)
25. TOGETHER BY PRAYER
BECAUSE…
I. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF CHRIST
II. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF CHURCH
III. PRAYER IS THE LIFE OF CHRISTIANS
