2. THE POINT
MOST PEOPLE HAVE NO GOAL FOR THEIR LIVES. THERE IS NOTHING
THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. THERE IS
NOTHING THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THEIR LIVES. THEY GO
THROUGH LIFE WITHOUT A PURPOSE. YET MOST PEOPLE ARE BUSY IN
LIFE EVEN THOUGH THEY ACCOMPLISH NOTHING FOR THE SIMPLE
REASON THAT, THEY MADE NO GOAL FOR THEMSELVES. THEY HAVE A
PURPOSELESS LIFE. A LIFE WITHOUT A GOAL IS AN EMPTY LIFE. A LIFE
WITHOUT A GOAL IS A BORING LIFE WITH NOTHING EXCITING. A LIFE
WITHOUT A GOAL WILL ACCOMPLISH NOTHING. IN THIS BEGINNING OF
THE YEAR OF MULTIPLICATION, GOD WANTS US TO MAKE GOALS SO
THAT WE WILL CHANNEL OUR ENERGY, OUR EFFORTS AND NOT ALLOW
THE USUAL CHALLENGES OF LIFE TO DISCOURAGE US. GOD WANTS YOU
AS AN INDIVIDUAL TO MAKE A GOAL AND FOCUS YOUR EYES ON IT TILL
YOU ACCOMPLISH IT.

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have
already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold
of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have
taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is
behind and straining toward what is ahead,

6. THE MATTER OF GOAL IS DIVINE
1. GOD HAD A GOAL AT CREATION: HE CREATED THE WORLD
2. ABRAHAM HAD A GOAL: HE WAS ASKED TO GO TO THE
PROMISED LAND. HE DID
3. MOSES HAD A GOAL: HE LIBERATED THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL
FROM EGYPT.
4. JOSHUA HAD A GOAL: TO BRING THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL TO
THE PROMISE LAND.
5. THE JUDGES APPEARED IN ISRAEL TO DELIVER THE NATION FROM
THEIR ENEMIES.
6. THE DIFFERENT PROPHETS WHO APPEARED IN ISRAEL HAD THE
GOAL OF ANNOUNCING THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH
7. JOHN THE BAPTIST HAD THE GOAL OF PREPARING THE NATION
OF ISRAEL FOR THE COMING OF JESUS. HE DID!
8. JESUS CAME TO DIE ON THE CROSS FOR THE SINS OF THE
WORLD. HE DID!

27 This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of
Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.
28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the
Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.
29 Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram's wife
was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah; she was
the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah.
30 Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.
31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran,
and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and
together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to
