The document discusses Terah, Abram, and their journeys. It states that Terah took Abram and others from Ur to go to Canaan but settled in Haran until his death, failing to reach his goal. In contrast, when God called Abram to leave, Abram departed Haran and reached Canaan, refusing to settle where his father did. The document emphasizes that God's will is for his children to overcome obstacles and not settle, using Abraham as an example of one who decided to pursue God's vision and succeeded in accomplishing his goal.

This document discusses the importance of setting goals and accomplishing them. It begins by stating that most people live without purpose or goals, resulting in empty lives. It then uses examples from the Bible of important figures who had clear goals, including Paul, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Key points made include: having a goal provides focus and motivation; goals require perseverance, sacrifices and facing challenges; accomplishing goals brings a sense of fulfillment; and God wants people to make and achieve goals for His glory. The document encourages setting spiritual, personal and financial goals, and provides examples of goals for a church in the new year. The overall message is that goals give life meaning and direction, and accomplishing them honors God.

3. After Terah's death, God again called Abram to leave his family and homeland and promised to make him a great nation, bless him, and bless all people through him if he obeyed.
The document describes Abram's journey from Harran to Canaan in response to God's call, as recounted in Genesis 12:1-5. The key factors for taking risks according to the document are: 1) having a concrete confirmation from God's word, 2) having a complete understanding of God's promises, and 3) having a willing heart to obey God. Abram demonstrated these factors by leaving his country, people, and father's household at age 75 to go where God directed him based on God's promises to make him a great nation and bless all people through him.
The document describes the generations of Terah and his sons Abram, Nahor and Haran. It details how Terah took Abram, Sarai and Lot to travel from Ur of the Chaldeans to the land of Canaan, settling temporarily in Haran where Terah died at 205 years old. God then calls Abram to leave his country and kindred and go to the land that God will show him, promising to make Abram into a great nation and bless all people through him. Abram departs from Haran at age 75, taking his family and possessions to the land of Canaan.
The document discusses God's calling of Abram and the promises He made to him. It notes that God called Abram to leave his country and family and go to a new land, promising to make him a great nation and bless all people through him. Abram obeyed God and traveled to Canaan with his wife Sarai, nephew Lot, and possessions. God appeared to Abram, reiterated His promise of the land, and Abram built altars in response. The document examines Abram's faith and trust in God's promises despite uncertainties about having descendants, given his and Sarai's age.
1) The document provides background information on the book of Deuteronomy, including its Greek and Hebrew names. It discusses the structure of Deuteronomy and how it resembles ancient treaties.
2) It summarizes chapters 1-3 of Deuteronomy, including Moses appointing leaders to help govern Israel, their failure to enter the promised land at Kadesh Barnea, and years of wandering before battles against Sihon and Og east of the Jordan River.
3) Key events discussed include the appointment of tribal leaders, rebellion against God at Kadesh, 40 years of wandering, battles against Sihon and Og that led to territorial gains east of the Jordan.
The document summarizes passages from Genesis and Deuteronomy describing God's commands and promises to Abram and the Israelites. It discusses how God promised to make Abram into a great nation and bless all people through him, but also warned the Israelites not to forget God or disobey his commands, lest they perish like other nations before them. The document questions what relevance places like Ai and Bethel have for the reader today.

- Examples of dogma discussed are salvation and communion.
The document discusses the 144,000 witnesses described in Revelation 7 and 14. It describes how four angels hold back winds to prevent harm until the 144,000 servants of God are sealed. The 144,000 are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel and are said to be redeemed from the earth and follow the Lamb without fault, having kept themselves chaste.
This document provides an overview of the story and major themes of the Old Testament. It traces the key events from Creation through the exile and return of Israel. The document emphasizes God's calling of Israel to be a blessing to the world, their disobedience which led to punishment, and the prophets' message of hope for restoration. It aims to familiarize readers with the overall narrative arc and theological themes that provide important context for understanding the New Testament.
1) The church in Antioch was fasting and praying when the Holy Spirit called Barnabas and Saul to a special mission. 2) The church ordained Barnabas and Saul through fasting, prayer, and laying hands on them. 3) Barnabas and Saul were then sent out by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the word of God, first traveling to Cyprus and preaching in Jewish synagogues in Salamis with John Mark's assistance.
The angel of the Lord appeared to the Israelites and reminded them of the covenant God had made with their fathers to bring them to the promised land. However, the Israelites had not obeyed God's commands and had failed to drive out the Canaanites from the land. As a result, the Canaanites became thorns in their sides and led them to worship false gods. When the angel spoke these words, the people wept but did not truly repent by tearing down altars or driving out the pagans. Their disobedience led the next generation to not know the Lord and to turn to worshipping Baal.

This document provides a summary of the biblical story of Judah and his family. It outlines six main problems with Judah: 1) Disobeying God by marrying a Canaanite woman, 2) Failing to fulfill his promise to give his son Shelah to his daughter-in-law Tamar, 3) Committing fornication with Tamar unknowingly, 4) Engaging in idolatry, 5) Committing adultery since Tamar was pledged to marry Shelah, and 6) Responding with hypocritical brutality by wanting to burn Tamar. However, Judah was redeemed when he immediately admitted fault and did not continue in sin after recognizing his belongings with T

The document discusses the meaning and history of Advent and encourages focusing on the true meaning of the season - expecting the coming of Jesus Christ. It provides biblical passages that foretold Jesus' coming and established the promise of a Messiah, highlighting Advent as a time to reflect on Jesus' first coming to earth as a baby as well as his promised second coming. The goal is to avoid distraction by secular winter traditions and keep attention directed toward celebrating the arrival of our Savior.

1) Joseph was handsome and his master's wife tried to seduce him daily, but he refused her advances because he feared sinning against God.
2) Joseph remained committed to keeping the trust his master had placed in him and refused to compromise, despite the wife's persistent attempts.
3) By fearing God, keeping his commitment, and hating wickedness, Joseph was able to say "no" and avoid sin, which allowed God to greatly bless him.
This document discusses the story of Samson from the book of Judges in the Bible. It summarizes how Samson gave a riddle to companions at a feast but yielded to his wife's tears and told her the riddle when she pressed him for days. His wife then betrayed him by telling the riddle's answer to her people. The document encourages being consistent with saying "no" and discerning the motives behind tears or enticement rather than weakening resolve. It also references how both Adam and Eve yielded to persuasion when they should have maintained a firm "no."
The document discusses Joseph's ability to say "no" when tempted by his master's wife to engage in sexual sin. It provides three reasons for Joseph's refusal: 1) His fear of God and not wanting to sin against God, 2) His commitment to keep the trust his master had placed in him, and 3) His hatred of wicked things. The document uses Joseph as an example of someone who was blessed for maintaining righteousness, and contrasts him with Reuben who was unable to say "no" and lost blessings as a result. It encourages readers to say "no" to sin in order to receive God's blessings.
The document discusses Genesis 1:26-31 and the necessity of blessings for mankind. It notes that when God created man, everything about man was perfect. However, man still needed God's blessings to survive in the world, as Satan was already present and working against man. God blessed man with five fundamental blessings: to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue it, and have dominion. The document emphasizes that man needs God's blessings to accomplish what he was created for and find ultimate happiness and fulfillment.
The document is a sermon about the God of hope from Romans 15:13. It discusses how humans often live in stress, fear and anxiety, but as creatures and children of God, our Father is the God of hope who wants us to face the future with hope. It encourages believers to have hope, which brings joy and patience, and is filled by the Holy Spirit through faith in God's promises and goodness. The sermon aims to convey that God wants to fill believers with hope, joy and peace through their belief in Jesus.
God created the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day to separate day from night and mark seasons and time. The document discusses how God uses the cycles of day and night to give people new beginnings each morning. It states that with each dawn, God provides a new stock of mercy and compassion, showing that He has not given up on people. It encourages readers to let go of past failures and mistakes, see each new day as an opportunity to start fresh with God, and extend new chances to others as God does for them.
The document discusses the proper way to give to God based on the biblical account in 1 Chronicles 29:1-21. It summarizes that giving to God should be done willingly and joyfully from the heart. It also notes that one should pray before giving to make the offering spiritual by acknowledging God's greatness, one's own inadequacy, and presenting spiritual needs and requests to God. The key is giving in a way that pleases God so that the offering is accepted and recorded in heaven.
The condemnation and crucifixion of Jesus was not based on logic or facts, but was the triumph of Satan's influence over righteousness. Both Pilate and Herod found no fault in Jesus, yet the voices of the chief priests and crowd, under Satan's sway, prevailed in demanding his death. If logic had prevailed, Jesus would not have been crucified and there would be no salvation from sins. However, God's will triumphed over human logic in allowing Jesus to die for our sins according to the Scriptures.
Jacob has a dream of a ladder connecting heaven and earth with angels ascending and descending. God appears and promises Jacob the land and numerous descendants, and that He will be with Jacob and bring him back. When Jacob awakes, he is afraid yet also in awe, realizing this is the house of God. He sets up the stone as a pillar, names the place Bethel, and makes a vow that if God will be with him, God will be his God. The document analyzes the dream and God's covenant with Jacob, comparing Jesus to the ladder that connects man to God, and urges responding to God's grace with faith, fear of God, worship, offerings, and consecration.
God remembered Abraham's intercession for Sodom and Gomorrah and saved Lot from destruction. The document discusses how God remembers and blesses intercessors like Abraham who stand before God on behalf of others. It encourages intercession, stating that praying for people leads to a quiet life and is pleasing to God, and that God remembers intercessors to save others and bless the intercessors themselves.
The Angel of the Lord appears to Gideon as he is hiding wheat from the Midianites. Though Gideon questions God's presence due to their hardship, God tells him to save Israel with the strength he has. Gideon doubts his own abilities since he comes from the weakest clan, but God promises to be with him and help him defeat the Midianites. The lesson is that we all have strengths given by God, and we should focus on and use those strengths to overcome difficulties rather than dwelling on perceived weaknesses.
This document discusses the biblical principle of giving and receiving. It provides several examples from the Bible to illustrate this principle:
1) Jesus feeding the 5,000 and 4,000 people with only a few loaves of bread and fish. Both times, he had the disciples first give him what little food they had, then he blessed and multiplied it.
2) Figures like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David who gave to God and were blessed in return.
3) The story of Cain and Abel highlights their voluntary initiative to give to God.
The overall message is that giving to God opens one up to both spiritual and material blessings, as the biblical examples demonstrate that one must first
The document discusses how Satan works to influence people's thoughts and minds. It provides examples from the Bible where Satan put wicked thoughts in the hearts of Judas, Pharaoh, Joseph's brothers, King Saul, and the Pharisees. In each case, Satan used comparison, jealousy, assumptions, and hatred to turn people against each other and have them see each other as enemies. The document warns that this is the devil's ultimate strategy to integrate people with his wicked thoughts and turn them into his followers. It encourages examining one's own thoughts to identify if Satan has influenced the way one views and compares themselves with others.
The document tells a story from Luke 17:11-19 about Jesus healing 10 lepers. When Jesus tells them to show themselves to the priests as a test of faith, all 10 are healed. However, only one returns to thank Jesus - a Samaritan. Jesus questions why the other nine did not return to show gratitude. The story teaches that developing an attitude of gratitude will open one's life to more blessings from God.

2. GENESIS 11:27-32
“27 This is the genealogy of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor,
and Haran. Haran begot Lot.
28 And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in
Ur of the Chaldeans.
29 Then Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram's
wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the
daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.
30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son
of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife,
and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to
the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there.
32 So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and
Terah died in Haran.”
3. GENESIS 11:1-5
1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country,
From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I
will show you.
2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your
name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who
curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be
blessed."
4 ¶ So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot
went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he
departed from Haran.
5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and
all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people
whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to
the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.
4. 31 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his
