- TDH provides direct services to 1 of 5 Tennesseans, but all Tennesseans are directly protected.
- What is Primary Prevention? Primary prevention is designed to prevent a disease or condition from occurring in the first place. Examples of Primary Prevention: Regular physical activity to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Vaccination against infectious diseases are a classic example of primary prevention.
- Case studies to highlight smaller communities Will continue to give non-competitive grants each year New competitive grants beginning this fall in the 30-50K range, each year A full-time healthy development coordinator in each regional health department. Will help write grants, develop plans, and build relationships. Currently interviewing for the positions, and have had about 400-500 applicants.
- Website for decision-makers to learn about the concepts, resources, success stories.
- Livability collaborative – partnerships important for success. Have set priorities for the coming year.
