6. Why do we need to know the ingredients in a
recipe?
• It is important to follow the ingredients and procedure in a
certain recipe, so that it will turn out good and delicious.
Cause if you didn't follow the proper procedure, the recipe
you were making will turn out bad and it will fail.
• The ingredient list is the single best tool at your disposal
to determine if a food product is a good choice or not. In
fact, it is the only way to determine if the item is made of
real food or if it contains added sugars, vegetable oils,
and additives.
7. • Choosing the right ingredients is a crucial part of cooking
the best food. The quality, freshness, and variety of
ingredients can significantly impact the flavor, texture, and
nutritional value of the food. High-quality ingredients often
have more natural and intense flavors, making the final
dish taste better. Additionally, using fresh ingredients
helps preserve the nutritional value and taste of the food.
8. • Choosing the right ingredients also involves understanding how different
ingredients work together to create a cohesive flavor profile. This includes
understanding the balance of sweet, sour, salty, and bitter flavors in a
dish, as well as the use of complementary textures and aromas.
• Ultimately, cooking is a combination of art and science, and selecting the
right ingredients is an essential aspect of the creative process. Choosing
high-quality, fresh, and flavorful ingredients can elevate the final dish and
make the cooking experience more enjoyable.
9. • Ingredient - is a substance which forms part of a mixture. In
cooking, recipes specify which ingredients are used to prepare a
dish. Many commercial products contain secret ingredients
purported to make them better than competing products. In the
pharmaceutical industry, an active ingredient is the ingredient in a
formulation which invokes biological activity.
• National laws usually require prepared food products to display a
list of ingredients and specifically require that certain additives be
listed. Law typically requires that ingredients be listed according to
their relative weight within the product.
