EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
When I joined this organization, I was given only one objective โTo Study on
Investment Avenues in Fixed Deposits at Mahindra Financeโ. In this Project I was
given a data of Jalandhar city. This List contains 238 AMFI certified people. In this
project I was assigned two tasks:
Broker Empanelment
Fixed Deposit
Process of Project:- Firstly, I made call them but approximately 50% numbers were
wrong and not working. So out of those 50% who attended the phone call only 25% were
ready to meet i.e. only 30 people out of 120. Then I fixed the meetings with them for the
empanelment process at this stage my first task ends and from this stage the second phase
starts which is fixed deposit. So the next job is to encourage the brokers after their
empanelment to open FD accounts and I had also visited directly to some customers for
FD. So this was tasks I have completed in my project.
With this study I came to know about the preference of the people towards investment. In
this era everybody wants to save money for investments with a better returns so people
are ready to invest in FDโs Bonds, Shares, Mutual Funds etc.
Outcome of the Study:- With this study I came to know that in the area of Jalandhar city
people are aware of Mahindra Finance but not aware of its Fixed Deposit scheme though
it has a very good brand name in the Indian Market people donโt want to invest in it
because of its competitors:
Shriram Finance:- Which has the highest rate of return.
HDFC:- CRISIL FAAA rated same as Mahindra but has a very fast FD process.
So in Jalandhar these two are the major competitors of Mahindra Finance Fixed Deposit,
so people invest their money in these companies rather than Mahindra.
Suggestions and Ideas to the company:-These are the some essential suggestions-
The major problem is that there is not any department in the local branch, so
brokers are suffering so much because nobody is there to assist them, so Mahindra
is lacking so much behind because of this reason. According to me there should
be a department of fixed deposit of mutual fund in Jalandhar.
The rate of Interest for brokers is also very low as compared to its competitors, so
it should be increased to make a healthy competition.
The process of FD is very slow as compared to HDFC which takes only 1 or 2
days as compared to Mahindraโs taking minimum 15 days to open an FD. So this
period also should be decreased by making this process at local level.
