10 tips for more effective power point presentationsPatrick Bagarra
The document provides tips for creating effective PowerPoint presentations with a clear structure, including having a beginning, middle, and end; revealing points one at a time; using sans serif fonts and aligning text; only using relevant images; keeping slides simple with keywords and avoiding sentences; and expressing a clear take home message. It emphasizes that slides should illustrate the presentation, not replace it, and that presenters should speak freely while maintaining audience attention.
The document discusses tips for creating do-it-yourself videos to promote conferences and events. It notes that websites with video keep viewers engaged for longer than those without. It then provides advice on using video testimonials, framing shots, using a tripod, avoiding ambient noise, including specific reasons to attend, adding tags when posting on YouTube, and distributing the video on multiple platforms.
The document provides tips for effectively using PowerPoint as a presentation tool. It recommends planning the content first by outlining key messages and the purpose. Use a plain background without unnecessary details. Support headlines with graphic evidence like images and charts instead of bullet points. Not every point needs a slide - only include visual aids that would be needed in a conversation. Put detailed information in handouts rather than cramming text into slides. Remember the presentation is about engaging the audience, not just the slides. Open with a hook to grab attention and ask questions to engage listeners. Modulate your voice for a lively, personable delivery.

FACEVOX is a social media app created by Srini Kumar that allows users to record audio messages over photos and post them to Facebook. It aims to make communication easier by allowing users to talk rather than type out lengthy posts or feel uncomfortable recording videos. Srini believes that one's voice and personality are best conveyed through audio rather than just text or video.
The document discusses the idea that humans have two brains or mind-halves that work together in a yin and yang fashion. Each half of the brain perceives the world differently and processes information separately, yet in harmony the two halves allow unified behavior and thought. Examples are given of how each side may focus on different things like math versus art or emotions versus reason. The goal is for the two mind-halves to be balanced and in agreement so that a person can flow and achieve their potential.

5th LF Energy Power Grid Model Meet-up SlidesDanBrown980551
5th Power Grid Model Meet-up
It is with great pleasure that we extend to you an invitation to the 5th Power Grid Model Meet-up, scheduled for 6th June 2024. This event will adopt a hybrid format, allowing participants to join us either through an online Mircosoft Teams session or in person at TU/e located at Den Dolech 2, Eindhoven, Netherlands. The meet-up will be hosted by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), a research university specializing in engineering science & technology.
Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
What to expect
For the upcoming meetup we are organizing, we have an exciting lineup of activities planned:
-Insightful presentations covering two practical applications of the Power Grid Model.
-An update on the latest advancements in Power Grid -Model technology during the first and second quarters of 2024.
-An interactive brainstorming session to discuss and propose new feature requests.
-An opportunity to connect with fellow Power Grid Model enthusiasts and users.

2. THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT
• Adding audio to slides
• Spontaneous rambling
• Possible great integration!
3. I'M SRINI. I MADE TINYVOX.
•A great way to create audio
• Post from app to get URL
•A joy to use & broadcast
4. THIS IS JUST A TEST
• Create very rich content that hits people with several angles
on their brain pattern recognition
• Using only your voice and free tools, you can have this
capability to persuade and promote your perspective
• Ifyou have an idea that is of value, you must convey the value
through powerful messaging like this example
5. WHAT SHOULD I CREATE
NEXT?
• Ifyou have any ideas about
what I should create my
next slideshow on, please
leave me a comment or
tweet to me
• How might you make use of
this amazing new
presentation combination?
6. FROM UNSCRIPTED AUDIO TO A
SLIDESHOW AS FAST AS POSSIBLE
• First
I talked out a presentation to you – unscripted, so
admittedly rambling, but undeniably authentic
• Now I am in keynote on my iPhone, which is a very slick app
•I have an iPhone 4S so I can even talk these words out
• This creates visual interest to go along with my audio
• Hopefully you will enjoy this and spread the word
7. NOT JUST A TRANSCRIPTION,
AN IMPROVEMENT
• Making a keynote
presentation after having
talked out the presentation
gives you a chance to
improve the overall
presentation
• Even if you ramble in the
audio, you can make your
visual presentation tight
8. READY TO UPLOAD ALREADY!
•I hope it is as easy as I
believe it will be
• I'll
be able to make
presentations like this a lot
• Thisentire thing took me
about 30 minutes to create
