St. Helen Elementary has a process to identify and provide additional assistance to students struggling in math, reading, and writing. Students are assessed in the spring and fall using NWEA and My-Access tests to determine if they require intervention. Students are placed in appropriate programs like Title I based on these assessments and other data. Title I students are re-evaluated every four weeks and can enter or leave the program based on their progress. Students are tested mid-year to assess growth and determine further assistance needed. Those in the Title I program receive two to five extra hours of support weekly in small groups or the classroom to help them master standards.
