1) Welling School is inviting Year 8 and Year 12 students on a joint trip to Thorpe Park on July 21st, 2010. 2) Year 8 students were selected based on good attendance, behavior, and contributions to the school. Year 12 students have been offered places as a reward. 3) Students will travel by coach to Thorpe Park for the day and return to Welling School by 6pm. Parents must pick students up or provide permission for independent travel. 4) Students are asked to contribute £30 for transportation and park admission. Permission slips and payment are due in the school office.

Dear Parents/Carers,
Your son/daughter has been invited to take part in a joint YEAR 8 and YEAR 12 trip to Thorpe Park
on Wednesday, 21st July, 2010. Year 8 pupils have been selected for this trip based on aspirational
attendance of 95% or above, positive behaviour and contribution to the school and Head of Year
recommendation. Year 12 have been offered places on this trip as a year group reward. Pupils will
need to arrive at Welling School promptly at 8.00am and will travel by coach to Thorpe Park for the
day and return to Welling School at approximately 6.00pm (traffic permitting) . Pupils will need to be
picked up at 6.00pm from the ELSA ROAD entrance of WELLING SCHOOL. If you give permission
for your son/daughter to make their own way home from WELLING SCHOOL at 6.00pm, please can
you write this on this slip below. Pupils will be allowed to wear their own clothes for the day. During
the day, pupils will be put into groups of six and will be expected to keep together. Staff will be
stationed around the theme park and there will be regular meet up times at designated places. We
are asking for a voluntary contribution of £30.00 per student which covers the cost of the coach and
the entrance ticket price to Thorpe Park. Your son/daughter will also require spending money and
either a packed lunch or money to purchase lunch. If you are unable to pay the £30.00 straight away,
please let us know as soon as possible. Please can all slips and money be handed in a secure
envelope to the main office with ‘THORPE PARK TRIP JULY 2010’ and the students’ name and tutor
group written clearly on the envelope.
