Thermalism in Brazil discusses the use of hydrotherapy and thermal springs in Brazil for medical purposes. Several Brazilian cities are mentioned as locations with established thermalism/hydrotherapy practices. Recent data shows an increasing number and percentage of both public and private health services in Brazil offer complementary practices like hydrotherapy, Chinese traditional medicine, homeopathy, and others. Some Brazilian health trials have explored the use of thermal springs and hydrotherapy to help treat chronic wounds, burns, and gonarthrosis.
Role of the Biochemistry Labs in Promoting the Health Care Services for the I...IJERA Editor
The health care in the State of Kuwait depends to a greater extent on the biochemical and clinical labs attached
at each hospital. The data obtained from these laboratories will facilitate the process of diagnosing the disease
accurately. This will have a positive impact on the selection of appropriate treatment for the patients in general
and for diabetics specifically.
The main objective of this research was to build a profile for lab analysis and a database for building a
comprehensive system of integrated activities to raise health care for diabetic patients in Kuwait. The study
revealed the burden of admitted diabetic cases on the blood chemistry laboratory in Sabah Hospital (in relation
to length of stay and total numbers of lab requests). The aim was fulfilled by designing a model of the
biochemical tests for diabetics; filling in forms from the reality of patient data, completing and analyzing the
results electronically.
The study showed the importance of biochemical and clinical labs since they act as the link of patient's
information at the secondary health care level.

ABSTRACT
Background: The long-term management of chronic disease re-
quires the adoption of complex dietary recommendations, which
can be facilitated by regular coaching to support behavioral changes.
Telehealth interventions can overcome patient-centered barriers to
accessing face-to-face programs and provide feasible delivery methods,
accessible regardless of geographic location.
Objective: This systematic review assessed the effectiveness of
telehealth dietary interventions at facilitating dietary change in
chronic disease.
Design: A structured systematic search was conducted for all ran-
domized controlled trials evaluating multifactorial dietary interven-
tions in adults with chronic disease that provided diet education in
an intervention longer than 4 wk. Meta-analyses that used the ran-
dom-effects model were performed on diet quality, dietary adher-
ence, fruit and vegetables, sodium intake, energy, and dietary fat
intake.
Results: A total of 25 studies were included, involving 7384
participants. The telehealth dietary intervention was effec-
tive at improving diet quality [standardized mean difference
(SMD): 0.22 (95% CI: 0.09, 0.34), P = 0.0007], fruit and veg-
etable intake [mean difference (MD) 1.04 servings/d (95% CI:
0.46, 1.62 servings/d), P = 0.0004], and dietary sodium intake
[SMD: 20.39 (20.58, 20.20), P = 0.0001]. Single nutrients
(total fat and energy consumption) were not improved by tele-
health intervention; however, after a telehealth intervention, impor-
tant clinical outcomes were improved, such as systolic blood pressure
[MD: 22.97 mm Hg (95% CI: 25.72, 20.22 mm Hg), P = 0.05],
total cholesterol [MD: 20.08 mmol/L (95% CI: 20.16, 20.00 mmol/L),
P = 0.04], triglycerides [MD: 20.10 mmol/L (95% CI: 20.19,
20.01 mmol/L), P = 0.04], weight [MD: 20.80 kg (95% CI:
21.61, 0 kg), P = 0.05], and waist circumference [MD: 22.08 cm
(95% CI: 23.97, 20.20 cm), P = 0.03].
Conclusions: Telehealth-delivered dietary interventions targeting
whole foods and/or dietary patterns can improve diet quality, fruit
and vegetable intake, and dietary sodium intake. When applicable,
they should be incorporated into health care services for people with
chronic conditions. This review was registered at http://www.crd.

WHITE PAPER
Together for Health:
A Strategic Approach for the EU 2008-2013
1. WHY A NEW HEALTH STRATEGY?
Health is central in people's lives and needs to be supported by effective policies and actions
in Member States, at EC1 level and at global level.
Member States have the main responsibility for health policy and provision of healthcare to
European citizens. The EC's role is not to mirror or duplicate their work. However, there are
areas where Member States cannot act alone effectively and where cooperative action at
Community level is indispensable. These include major health threats and issues with a cross-
border or international impact, such as pandemics and bioterrorism, as well as those relating
to free movement of goods, services and people.
To carry out this role, cross-sectoral work is required. Article 152 of the EC Treaty says that a
"high level of human health protection shall be ensured in the definition and implementation
of all Community policies and activities". This Strategy reinforces the importance of health in
policies such as the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs, emphasising the links between
health and economic prosperity, and the Citizens' Agenda, recognising people's right to be
empowered in relation to their health and healthcare. Actions in the Strategy represent work
on health across all sectors. Health is found in Treaty articles on the Internal Market,
Environment, Consumer Protection, Social Affairs including the Safety and Health of
Workers, Development Policy, and Research, amongst many others2.
The EC's important role in health policy has been reaffirmed in the Reform Treaty which was
agreed by EU Heads of State and Government in Lisbon on 19 October 2007, and which
proposes to reinforce the political importance of health. A new overall aim on supporting
citizens' wellbeing is expected, as well as an encouragement of cooperation amongst Member
States on health and health services. Work on health at Community level adds value to
Member States' actions, particularly in the area of prevention of illness, including work on
food safety and nutrition, the safety of medical products, tackling smoking, legislation on
blood, tissues and cells, and organs, water and air quality, and the launch of a number of
health-related agencies. However, there are several growing challenges to the health of the
population which require a new strategic approach.
– Firstly, demographic changes including population ageing are changing disease patterns
and putting pressure on the sustainability of EU health systems. Supporting healthy ageing
means both promoting health throughout the lifespan, aiming to prevent h ...
The world health organization for more than fifty years has been dedicating itself to the questions of Traditional Medicine and defines Traditional Medicine as the "sum total of the knowledge, skill, and practices based on the theories, beliefs, and experiences indigenous to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health as well as in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illness" [1].

The term hydrodiversity, is based on concepts
internationally recognized biodiversity and
geodiversity. The principles, the Range, and
collective contractual parties are interests of the
Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
To the geodiversity is regarded as fundamental
research and actions on the future use of natural
occurrences. Territories of natural environments,
raw materials and natural resources are sustainable
way, and through studies are based on scientific
ratings criteria.
Setting an initial proposal, it must be the variety
of water according to its physical state, shapes, locations,
backgrounds, physical and chemical
compositions dissolved in materials, types of
uses, properties, functions, and others. It is known
it is known, valued and used based on strategies
of sustainable planning. Waters are an important
factor, for it is a great diversity in nature. This hydrodiversity
is a term that has several means to
differentiate the natural water resources (Mendiondo
& Tucci, 1997; Oudin et al., 2008), valuing
them for better preservation (Graf, 2001; Sismic
& Belij, 2008) or to exemplify content for
environmental education, as in Portugal water
sites (Machado & Oliveira, 2010).
Natural waters are anomalous characteristics of
aqueous and complex environments. Due to its
thermodynamic properties of fluids are special reagents
from the early stages of the planet. The
origin of life and evolution was a result of biological
activity has been a surge of geological process.
The study of different living beings is dependent
in each type of water, the complex or
incipient. The water provides all kinds of life;
therefore, biodiversity is closely influenced by the
characteristics of the water existing in each region.
recursos naturais minerais terapeuticos e turisticos RNMTT 2009 Termalismo Brasil
Agua Termal Recursos Geotermais do Brasil Lazzerini LIVRO Geologia do BrasilTermalismo Brasil

(May 29th, 2024) Advancements in Intravital Microscopy- Insights for Preclini...Scintica Instrumentation
Intravital microscopy (IVM) is a powerful tool utilized to study cellular behavior over time and space in vivo. Much of our understanding of cell biology has been accomplished using various in vitro and ex vivo methods; however, these studies do not necessarily reflect the natural dynamics of biological processes. Unlike traditional cell culture or fixed tissue imaging, IVM allows for the ultra-fast high-resolution imaging of cellular processes over time and space and were studied in its natural environment. Real-time visualization of biological processes in the context of an intact organism helps maintain physiological relevance and provide insights into the progression of disease, response to treatments or developmental processes.
In this webinar we give an overview of advanced applications of the IVM system in preclinical research. IVIM technology is a provider of all-in-one intravital microscopy systems and solutions optimized for in vivo imaging of live animal models at sub-micron resolution. The system’s unique features and user-friendly software enables researchers to probe fast dynamic biological processes such as immune cell tracking, cell-cell interaction as well as vascularization and tumor metastasis with exceptional detail. This webinar will also give an overview of IVM being utilized in drug development, offering a view into the intricate interaction between drugs/nanoparticles and tissues in vivo and allows for the evaluation of therapeutic intervention in a variety of tissues and organs. This interdisciplinary collaboration continues to drive the advancements of novel therapeutic strategies.
Deep Behavioral Phenotyping in Systems Neuroscience for Functional Atlasing a...Ana Luísa Pinho
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) provides means to characterize brain activations in response to behavior. However, cognitive neuroscience has been limited to group-level effects referring to the performance of specific tasks. To obtain the functional profile of elementary cognitive mechanisms, the combination of brain responses to many tasks is required. Yet, to date, both structural atlases and parcellation-based activations do not fully account for cognitive function and still present several limitations. Further, they do not adapt overall to individual characteristics. In this talk, I will give an account of deep-behavioral phenotyping strategies, namely data-driven methods in large task-fMRI datasets, to optimize functional brain-data collection and improve inference of effects-of-interest related to mental processes. Key to this approach is the employment of fast multi-functional paradigms rich on features that can be well parametrized and, consequently, facilitate the creation of psycho-physiological constructs to be modelled with imaging data. Particular emphasis will be given to music stimuli when studying high-order cognitive mechanisms, due to their ecological nature and quality to enable complex behavior compounded by discrete entities. I will also discuss how deep-behavioral phenotyping and individualized models applied to neuroimaging data can better account for the subject-specific organization of domain-general cognitive systems in the human brain. Finally, the accumulation of functional brain signatures brings the possibility to clarify relationships among tasks and create a univocal link between brain systems and mental functions through: (1) the development of ontologies proposing an organization of cognitive processes; and (2) brain-network taxonomies describing functional specialization. To this end, tools to improve commensurability in cognitive science are necessary, such as public repositories, ontology-based platforms and automated meta-analysis tools. I will thus discuss some brain-atlasing resources currently under development, and their applicability in cognitive as well as clinical neuroscience.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MARTIAN ATMOSPHERE SAMPLE RETURN.Sérgio Sacani
The return of a sample of near-surface atmosphere from Mars would facilitate answers to several first-order science questions surrounding the formation and evolution of the planet. One of the important aspects of terrestrial planet formation in general is the role that primary atmospheres played in influencing the chemistry and structure of the planets and their antecedents. Studies of the martian atmosphere can be used to investigate the role of a primary atmosphere in its history. Atmosphere samples would also inform our understanding of the near-surface chemistry of the planet, and ultimately the prospects for life. High-precision isotopic analyses of constituent gases are needed to address these questions, requiring that the analyses are made on returned samples rather than in situ.
Observation of Io’s Resurfacing via Plume Deposition Using Ground-based Adapt...Sérgio Sacani
Since volcanic activity was first discovered on Io from Voyager images in 1979, changes
on Io’s surface have been monitored from both spacecraft and ground-based telescopes.
Here, we present the highest spatial resolution images of Io ever obtained from a groundbased telescope. These images, acquired by the SHARK-VIS instrument on the Large
Binocular Telescope, show evidence of a major resurfacing event on Io’s trailing hemisphere. When compared to the most recent spacecraft images, the SHARK-VIS images
show that a plume deposit from a powerful eruption at Pillan Patera has covered part
of the long-lived Pele plume deposit. Although this type of resurfacing event may be common on Io, few have been detected due to the rarity of spacecraft visits and the previously low spatial resolution available from Earth-based telescopes. The SHARK-VIS instrument ushers in a new era of high resolution imaging of Io’s surface using adaptive
optics at visible wavelengths.
Professional air quality monitoring systems provide immediate, on-site data for analysis, compliance, and decision-making.

Nutraceutical market, scope and growth: Herbal drug technologyLokesh Patil
As consumer awareness of health and wellness rises, the nutraceutical market—which includes goods like functional meals, drinks, and dietary supplements that provide health advantages beyond basic nutrition—is growing significantly. As healthcare expenses rise, the population ages, and people want natural and preventative health solutions more and more, this industry is increasing quickly. Further driving market expansion are product formulation innovations and the use of cutting-edge technology for customized nutrition. With its worldwide reach, the nutraceutical industry is expected to keep growing and provide significant chances for research and investment in a number of categories, including vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and herbal supplements.
Richard's entangled aventures in wonderlandRichard Gill
Since the loophole-free Bell experiments of 2020 and the Nobel prizes in physics of 2022, critics of Bell's work have retreated to the fortress of super-determinism. Now, super-determinism is a derogatory word - it just means "determinism". Palmer, Hance and Hossenfelder argue that quantum mechanics and determinism are not incompatible, using a sophisticated mathematical construction based on a subtle thinning of allowed states and measurements in quantum mechanics, such that what is left appears to make Bell's argument fail, without altering the empirical predictions of quantum mechanics. I think however that it is a smoke screen, and the slogan "lost in math" comes to my mind. I will discuss some other recent disproofs of Bell's theorem using the language of causality based on causal graphs. Causal thinking is also central to law and justice. I will mention surprising connections to my work on serial killer nurse cases, in particular the Dutch case of Lucia de Berk and the current UK case of Lucy Letby.

The European Council Directive 80/777/EEC of 15 July 1980 on
the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating
to the exploitation and marketing of natural mineral waters
(Official Journal L 47 of 20.02.1981) was amended by the
European Parliament and Council Directive 96/70/EC of 28
October 1996.
The Directives concern the water extracted from the ground
of a Member State and recognised as the natural mineral
water by the responsible authority. They also concern the
water extracted from the ground of the Third-World
countries. The Directive 96/70/EC also sets the validity of
the certification of water extracted from the ground of a
Third-World country at 5 years.
17. CAIM
• That CAM use is expanding and is now being addressed
in a much more formal way than before necessitates
greater attention by conventional (allopathic) health
care practitioners, decision-makers and researchers.
• Chronically ill people are reported to use CAM two to
five times more often than non-chronically ill people.
• Demand for CAM services is expected to rise
particularly as a result of population aging and a
subsequent likely increase among people who will
experience one or more chronic health problems.
18. General recommendations for EU based on the global analysis of
the CAM R&D situation
- A broad range of mixed methods research strategies should be used to
investigate CAM within the EU. The choice of method(s) for any particular
project or experiment should be based on the specific scientific question
and should focus on delivering safe and effective health interventions to
EU citizens.
- The CAM research strategy for Europe should be based on the popularity
of a specific intervention and related to the national or regional public
health needs and disease burden.
- We suggest the formation of a centralised EU CAM centre with the
responsibility to operationalise the CAMbrella recommendations in
collaboration with selected EU member states and appropriate
(worldwide) academic institutions to enable evidence based health sector
reform with appropriate CAM interventions in the EU.
