This document discusses mother-daughter relationships in typical Filipino families. It begins by defining the roles of a mother and daughter. It then outlines a survey conducted with 100 Filipino girls aged 13-28 about their relationships with their mothers. The survey found that relationships varied from very close to distant, with issues like arguments, lack of time, and misunderstandings. Relationships were often based on time spent together, shared experiences, family closeness, and openness. The analysis discusses moral dilemmas mothers may face in raising daughters. Finally, it outlines Catholic teachings about families promoting love and community.

The Faith Initiative seeks to help LGBTQ+ youth and their families share their experiences with faith communities by creating opportunities for authentic dialogue between a variety of faith communities, LGBTQ+ organizations, and community members regarding spirituality, family relations, and the LGBTQ+ community.
We at HiTOPS know there is a wide array of experiences people hold at the intersection of faith and sexuality. Our organization cares deeply about the lived experiences of queer youth. Over the next several months we will be gathering stories of individual’s experiences to encapsulate the varied narratives of LGBTQ+ youth in New Jersey.
Our initiative will seek to hear the experiences of LGBTQ+ youth who are part of an affirming community, LGBTQ+ Youth who are a part of a non-affirming faith community, as well as LGBTQ+ youth who have left their faith communities. We will also seek to hear from faith leaders and straight youth who attend affirming and non-affirming faith communities.
For this assignment, I worked with a high school student and practiced my counseling skills while conducting an interview with her. I describe the skills being used and show my knowledge of how to work with a young client.
For this assignment, I described some key events that have happened in my life to make me the person I am today. I took some development theories and applied the stages described in the theory to my own life.

The ability to view ourselves from an unbiased perspective allows us to critically assess our personal strengths and weaknesses. This is an important step in the process of finding the right resources for our personal learning style. Ego and pride can be a hard thing to overcome, but I have found that reaching out for help provides endless benefits. I have found myself hesitant to ask for help in a professional setting. Because I am much younger than many of my coworkers, I feel a constant need to prove my worth. I feel as though my asking for help can be interpreted as an inability to perform my job duties effectively. I have since found out that this is not the case and in return, I am better equipped to do my job. If we are able to overcome the fear of putting our pride aside and asking for help, we will reap many benefits on the path to success. Overall, the ability to focus on the right things allows us to be better prepared to take advantage of critical opportunities.
After reviewing the multitude of online amenities provided at SNHU I feel better prepared to continue my work as a student. I plan on utilizing the Smarthinking 24-hour tutoring service as well as the drop off paper review. I think this is an amazing resource to have available that encourages students to ask for help when it is needed. The ability to get help from our peers is a tool I believe to be instrumental to success. It is reassuring to know that I have multiple resources at my disposal during this time in which I continue to further my education.

I think being able to use resources to help you succeed is a great characteristic to have. Sometimes in the past I have been too stubborn in my ways to be able to ask for help or use resources to help me and have not done as well as I had intended.
I think knowing more about you will allow you to be able to choose the right resources, because knowing the most about yourself allows you to know which resources you will benefit the most from. I have always struggled in math; it has never been my strong suit. When I first attempted to go to college right after I graduated from high school, I really struggled with the math course I was assigned. My school provided us with a resource called Math Lab. It was mandatory to complete one hour a week there. However, when I knew I needed more time and more assistance with what I was learning I decided not to reach out for help. Looking back, I am not sure why I refused to use more resources. I think I would have been more successful at my first attempt at college if I put my pride to the side .

In the discussion, the paper will explore in details the case study of Bailey who is at her 16th year of age and faces a lot of difficulties for that matter. Bailey being a tender girl has the capacity of getting a good education, access to information, good healthcare, and good parental care. From the case, we can realize that the lady is facing a challenge of parental care and she does not have a stable place or home to stay according to the context in the case study. Therefore, as a counsellor, I would advise the lady to get home and find the peace of her mind at her family’s care and support. Therefore, this paper will discuss in details how Bailey may be helped to meet her life objectives (Bourke, & Ready-Ed Publications, 2004).
To equally look into the life of Bailey, she is still at the tender age for her to decide on making her personal decisions and for the choices that she may make for her life may not help her for the long term planning of her life and for the success of herself. Her deciding to stay with her grandmother madam Karen could be the best option for herself and for the good parental care of her older grandmother, but things turn not to be the way we expect. I could stand strong to blame the grandmother for not having a firm stand to stop Bailey from moves again from her place to find shelter at her friends’ places.
In this case, I can say, it is the poor parental care by her parents both the mother and the grandmother that did not set a good foundation on how to care for their family members such that Bailey is left with all the freedom to move from one place to another without being cautioned and being seriously summoned over the same (Emery, 2012). We as the audience to the case study, we don’t find the clear evidence of what might have been the indifference between Bailey and her stepfather. This is the most critical path that we should find to know and get to find the solution form that point of view.
The foundation of the issues that Bailey is facing could be originating from the inner cycle of their parental and guidance system that we can say lack clear principles of good parenting and social care for the family members. I could have started by knowing what could be the issue that keeps Bailey outside the brackets of their family with her claim that she does not get in terms with her stepfather. In the application of the psychosocial theory of human learning and behaviour change, I would wish to monitor and find out the problem by sitting down with Bailey and trying to find out her problem. Through good guidance and counselling, I believe that the problem c.

#1 Angie post:
1. If I were to have to require a license to parent, I would require psychological and drug/alcohol testing. I think this is so important because children are so helpless, they only know what their environment allows them. Obviously substance abuse is bad and not healthy for children to be around or those children will end up being in custody of the state. Psychological testing to ensure that the child will be in safe hands from the moment they are born. I am so tired and saddened by the constant reports of child abuse, molestation, death..... and so many of these are by the parents own hands!
I think some of the other things that may seem logical to have straightened out before parenting are actually what makes us who we are.
2. I grew up with both parents, having been together since they were 15 and their first child at 15/16. They had 5 children (all girls!) and just celebrated their 36th anniversary a few weeks ago! I have shared my family story with many people as we are moving and making new friends. I find that people are surprised at the successful outcome that my parents had being put in that position at such a young age but recently I was asked a similar question by a friend and I keep circling back to the word respect. My parents drilled that into us; whether it was self-respect/image, respect for our elders, coaches, or our home. I really believe that one word/virtue has taught me so much throughout my life and is always useful.
3. Learning the value of respect and its impact, I have tried to do as my parents did and teach my children the same way. I have witnessed this paying off by the way my kids interact with others and feel good knowing that I can trust them to make good decisions even if I am not there. All of that comes back to them understanding respect. They need to respect my decisions as a parent, respect other people and their property, display respectful behavior, respect the community and environment.

If you had to obtain a license to parent, what would you require, and why?
I believe parents obtaining a license before becoming a parent is a good idea. Ethical parenting above all is responsible caregiving, requiring of parents enduring investment and commitment throughout their children’s long period of depending (Bornstein, 2002). I believe this to be logical, because how you raise your kids will determine (most of the time) how they will live their adult lives. Rather they were raised right and live a good adult life or raised wrong and live a bad adult life. Sometimes growing up bad influences you to do the right thing when you become an adult. Most parents now in days have no clue on what to do to become a parent. Majority of them go off of social media and how they were raised.
Discuss an incident from your childhood which typifies the parenting style of your parent(s).

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Introduction Expounding the definition of a mother Daughterhood as a vital part of the family Taking a look at the typical Filipino family Connecting the two roles in the family
3. Introduction What is a mother? Biological Role Domestic Role Social Role Moral Role Spiritual Role As a unique human being.
4. Introduction Daughter, a growing woman in society. Why is she also a vital part? Reared towards? A unique being too
6. Findings & ANALYSIS A Survey for Filipino girls ranging from the age of 13-28 years old Aim of the survey: Have a picture of what the mother-daughter relationship is today in the modern era Reveal issues present in the relationship Gather data as to what their relationship is based upon And how it is existing
7. Findings & ANALYSIS Methodology Convenience Sampling Gathered data among our circle of people Electronic and Paper Surveys Sample group total: 100 Survey includes 10 questions
8. Findings & ANALYSIS We’re very close but we always argue Well, we *were* very close. (Deceased) We argue a lot but we get along very well Most of the time we fight but we’re close She passed away and we didn’t get a chance to be closer We’re close but she’s always busy
50. It'll be the best if this mother-daughter relationship thingy is stronger than how it is now.
51. I miss her and all the things she did for me in the past, i miss how she cared for me and all, now that it has been 4years and counting that we've been apart, i miss all the stuff that mothers and daughters do
52.
53. because she's my mother whether I like it or not / whether I turn the world upside down
55. because she is also a female and become a teenager so i think she will understand what i am going through. And also, i want us to be comfortable with each other all the time.
72. Analysis These relationships, supported by our findings, are based upon: Frequency of togetherness Special bonds formed by moments and experiences Family closeness Openness to share Social standards (mothers know best) Trust (asking for advice, seeking for help) Concept of friendship even in the family
73. Analysis These relationships exists: As a special bond Friendship Trust Love and togetherness As a part of the family Simple give and take relationship Making it work Getting along As a biological link Merely trying to stand each other Arguing and fighting a lot Other issues that make the tie simply a biological link
74. Analysis Moral Dilemmas that could exist in these relationships: If the mother is abroad, working as an OFW, will she choose to go back to the country to be closer to her children or to stay abroad to earn more money so that she can provide sustenance to her children. If the mother wants her daughter to be happy, would she let her be and do everything she wants which would make her love her mother more at the moment or would she put discipline which would make the mother look bad to her daughter but would protect her from the things that might endanger her.
75. Analysis If the mother grew up with parents that disciplined her with an iron fist all her life, would she do the same thing because she knows it made her who she is now or would she take her chances and do things differently but she doesn’t know what the outcome would be. If the daughter, as a younger child was treated harshly for a long time by her mother but then as years came has treated her for better, would pay respect to her mother or would she do differently as her mother commands her.
76. Church Teachings Children, the Precious Gift of Marriage Thus the couple, while giving themselves to one another, give not just themselves but also the reality of children, who are a living reflection of their love, a permanent sign of conjugal unity and a living and inseparable synthesis of their being a father and a mother. When they become parents, spouses receive from God the gift of a new responsibility. Their parental love is called to become for the children the visible sign of the very love of God, "from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named."(36) From the Apostolic Exhortation FamiliarisConsortio of Pope John Paul II to the Episcopate, to the Clergy and to the Faithful of the whole Catholic Church on the Role of Christian Family in the Modern World
77. Church teachings This tells us that: Children are the reflection of love from the marriage of two people. Therefore, the daughters are reflection of love of the mother and father. If they are the reflection of love, it should be shown and so the child himself/herself should be the representation of the married couple Thus the child should be brought up by the same love that produced their child
78. Church teachings Family, Become What You Are Each family finds within itself a summons that cannot be ignored, and that specifies both its dignity and its responsibility: family, become what you are. And since in God's plan it has been established as an "intimate community of life and love,"(44) the family has the mission to become more and more what it is, that is to say, a community of life and love, in an effort that will find fulfillment, as will everything created and redeemed, in the Kingdom of God Hence the family has the mission to guard, reveal and communicate love, and this is a living reflection of and a real sharing in God's love for humanity and the love of Christ the Lord for the Church His bride.
79. Church teachings Thus, with love as its point of departure and making constant reference to it, the recent Synod emphasized four general tasks for the family: 1) forming a community of persons; 2) serving life; 3) participating in the development of society; 4) sharing in the life and mission of the Church. Apostolic Exhortation FamiliarisConsortio of Pope John Paul II to the Episcopate, to the Clergy and to the Faithful of the whole Catholic Church on the Role of Christian Family in the Modern World
80. Church teachings This tells us that: The family has a role to promote God’s Kingdom on earth. It produces beings which are formed by love, to be what they are and do what they are supposed to, which is: to form a community as a basic building block of society To serve life by being what they are, doing their own roles As for our topic mother-and-daughter, this relationship as taught by the encyclical, should be able to not only promote love but generate love in itself by doing what they are supposed to: The daughter should honor her mother The mother should rear the child in God’s love
81. Church teachings The Rights and Roles of Women In this perspective the Synod devoted special attention to women, to their rights and role within the family and society. In the same perspective are also to be considered men as husbands and fathers, and likewise children and the elderly. Above all it is important to underline the equal dignity and responsibility of women with men. This equality is realized in a unique manner in that reciprocal self-giving by each one to the other and by both to the children which is proper to marriage and the family. What human reason intuitively perceives and acknowledges is fully revealed by the word of God: the history of salvation, in fact, is a continuous and luminous testimony of the dignity of women. Synod - a special council of church members that holds regular meetings to discuss religious issues (Encarta Dictionary)
82. Church teachings In creating the human race "male and female,"(64) God gives man and woman an equal personal dignity, endowing them with the inalienable rights and responsibilities proper to the human person. God then manifests the dignity of women in the highest form possible, by assuming human flesh from the Virgin Mary, whom the Church honors as the Mother of God, calling her the new Eve and presenting her as the model of redeemed woman Apostolic Exhortation FamiliarisConsortio of Pope John Paul II to the Episcopate, to the Clergy and to the Faithful of the whole Catholic Church on the Role of Christian Family in the Modern World
83. Church teachings This tells us that: Women, in society and in the Church are given an equal importance with men. The greatest example of this is with Mother Mary and the role He gave her beginning in the Mystery of the Annunciation. Being a mother is one of the greatest roles, since it was the one with the major significance on how Jesus was born and come to save the World
84. Church Teachings Women and Society There is no doubt that the equal dignity and responsibility of men and women fully justifies women's access to public functions. On the other hand the true advancement of women requires that clear recognition be given to the value of their maternal and family role, by comparison with all other public roles and all other professions. Furthermore, these roles and professions should be harmoniously combined, if we wish the evolution of society and culture to be truly and fully human. Therefore the Church can and should help modern society by tirelessly insisting that the work of women in the home be recognized and respected by all in its irreplaceable value.
85. Church teachings This is of particular importance in education: for possible discrimination between the different types of work and professions is eliminated at its very root once it is clear that all people, in every area, are working with equal rights and equal responsibilities. The image of God in man and in woman will thus be seen with added luster. While it must be recognized that women have the same right as men to perform various public functions, society must be structured in such a way that wives and mothers are not in practice compelled to work outside the home, and that their families can live and prosper in a dignified way even when they themselves devote their full time to their own family. Apostolic Exhortation FamiliarisConsortio of Pope John Paul II to the Episcopate, to the Clergy and to the Faithful of the whole Catholic Church on the Role of Christian Family in the Modern World
86. Church Teachings This tells us that: The tasks of a regular housewife are just as important as every occupation. It is an important vocation, that without it, there’d be no one to raise the largest personalities in our society today. The Church recognizes this role and does not discriminate against it. Therefore as members of the Church, we should also give importance to those who choose this for their life and do not ridicule them. We must pay high respects to these people, including our own mothers so that we may set an example and also educate others about this.
87. Church Teachings By fostering and exercising a tender and strong concern for every child that comes into this world, the Church fulfills a fundamental mission: for she is called upon to reveal and put forward anew in history the example and the commandment of Christ the Lord, who placed the child at the heart of the Kingdom of God: "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.“
88.
89. Church teachings From the Bible Motherly Love towards her Child Women should be taught to love their children. Children are a blessing from God, not an unwanted burden Titus 2:4 Mother’s should do what is best for their children, setting self-occupancy aside and their other doings to give time to nurture and bring up their children. They should be treated as gifts, for they are a reflection of love and should not be burdened by them, for they will be the one who will face the future.
90. Church teachings From the Bible Daughter’s Responsibility to her Parents Listen to the instruction of parents, do not forsake it. Remember that parents are older and more experienced. They may not be perfect yet they are still wiser. Proverbs 6:20-23 Although, today in the modern world, the younger generation may disregard their parent’s teachings and consider them as inapplicable to our time. The young should still listen to their parents for they are of authority and, as said in the verse, they are still wiser.
91. Church teachings From the Bible Strengthening the Youth to Obey their Parents Parents have God-given authority and have generally done much good for the children. They deserve to receive respectful treatment, including respectful speech and attitudes. Ephesians 6:2,3 One who refuses to obey his parents is worthy of death, and so are those who approve of such conduct. Romans 1:30,32 Children should obey all parental instructions unless they are told to do something sinful Acts 5:29
92. Proposal Our Group Stand We stand for respect that mothers may be given much importance in our society and its roles respected with significant magnanimity. That people recognize motherhood as a noble vocation, that without it, communities in the world would not exist without the nurturing of a mother. Respect for all kinds of mothers, whether single, widowed, distant or non-biological, that they may be recognized for their duties whether it’s required or not.
93. Proposal Our Group Stand We stand for children’s rights, that they may be given sufficient rearing and necessities to able to grow up as decent and reputable members of society. We stand for the rights of each and every daughter, that they may be disciplined in the correct way and that they are looked after and loved by a family.
94. Proposal Personal Proposal Through this, we pledge to serve as an example as young daughters, not just by a family but as well as by our mother nation, that we give respect and honor our mothers as they should be and do not treat them any less. We believe that from this learning experience, every mother, despite their shortcomings should receive revere for what they have to sacrifice to be a mother. We should also promote proper parenting and it’s importance in building a better community and a nation that is deserving of God’s Kingdom. The people in poverty stricken areas should be able to know how and what it takes to rear a child that would later on, in turn, would help his/her own family. For every family is equal and as part of the Catholic Church, we should be able to recognize that
95. Proposal The Role of Society and The Church The role of society is to not discriminate anyone for their standing in the community. Motherhood is not merely staying at home and doing house chores. It is building the fundamental part of the community and the role of our society is to give it importance and a sort of reward for fulfilling such a significant task. Also the role of society, specifically the government, is to build laws that would further support the laws that were built for women and children. They should be able to provide them with further knowledge on family planning, human rights, responsible parenting and other important tools
96. Proposal The Role of Society and The Church The role of society, specifically the media, is to portray a truthful and real description of a mother and daughter. They should be able to give adapt to the changing times and do not deceive into such glamorous roles that are unlikely. They should not lead the youth into unrealistic tendencies that they might follow which would lead them to their parents’ misunderstanding.
97. Proposal The Role of Society and The Church The role of the Church is to guide mothers into reaching their mission for God and to inform them of their own power to proclaim God’s Kingdom.
