The water crisis refers to the problem of not having enough clean water for the growing global population. One-fifth of people currently lack access to drinking water, and that number is expected to rise as the population increases by 40% over the next 50 years. The water crisis is caused both by pollution from factories and waste entering water sources, as well as individual water waste through leaks, inefficient appliances, and leaving taps running unnecessarily. Small actions like fixing leaks, replacing old fixtures, and being conscious of water use, such as turning off taps while brushing teeth, can help address the crisis by collectively saving large amounts of water.
