2. A monetary based economy creates constant competition that divides society into different classes. Currently the world’s top 10% of people own 85% of the wealth, with the top 1% holding 40%. While the bottom 50% own less than 1%.

4. Our technology has advanced at unprecedented rates, yet as a society we are unable to solve world hunger or provide shelter for the homeless. The worlds greatest thinkers are not in business to solve these problems, they are paid to increase profits and increase efficiency.

5. In today’s global economy there are enough resources for everyone to live better lives than today’s wealthiest people. By ridding ourselves of this archaic monetary system that rewards the rich and impoverishes the poor, we can transform our social and political ideals for the benefit of the world.

6. The Venus Project is a coalition of scientists, activists and critical thinkers that are dedicated to approaching the problems we face in the world today. We must assess and transform our thinking to achieve critical changes in the world. Our monetary and political systems would be abandoned in favor of a free society that holds no one back due to race, nationality, religious views or economic status.

7. Our plan for a resource based economy would share the Earth’s natural resources freely amongst all people. The availability of food and technology to people all over the world would allow individuals to pursue their individual desires. The world’s greatest thinkers would abandon their jobs of maximizing profits, and resolve to conquer things such as curing diseases and clean renewable energy.

8. The Venus Project is committed to supporting exceptional people to change the world in extraordinary ways. That’s why we need the Shuttleworth Foundation’s support. With a grant from the Foundation, we would be able to continue our cause and educate people about our movement.

9. With your support we will create a full length feature film highlighting the benefits of living in a clean energy, resource based world. Work would also commence on our experimental research city in Venus, Florida. The city is a model of the Venus Project meant to test and educate people worldwide.
