The document discusses that the value of technology is not just about apps, but how people configure platforms and connect them together in new ways to solve specific problems. It notes that niche user groups can deliver more value than mass production models. Structuring configurations can help with re-use while still allowing for expression. The most important things are learning from each other and sharing stories of both success and failure.
The document discusses developing a digital identity as an educator. It suggests starting with a blog for reflective practice, using Twitter for spontaneous sharing, and LinkedIn to be found in Google searches. Quality, relevant contributions are more important than the number of accounts. Relationships and reputation combine to form one's digital identity. Social media should be used differently than old systems, with emotional intelligence at the core.

By the end of 2013 mobile phones will have overtaken PCs as the most common web access device worldwide. At the moment, people spend on average 12% of their media consumption time using mobile devices, whereas only 3% of advertising budget is funneled through this medium. Therein lies a huge opportunity for both brands and publishers. In that context, it would be of utmost importance to explore how we integrate mobile marketing in our communication strategy.
How to Design for the Future - Cross Channel Experience DesignOSCON Byrum
This document discusses cross-channel experience design. It begins by asking who the audience members are and what they hope to learn. It then discusses some key principles of cross-channel design such as providing a consistent, convenient, connected, and contextual experience across different channels over time. The document provides examples of both good and bad cross-channel experiences. It concludes by outlining five methods for designing cross-channel experiences, such as thinking in terms of services rather than individual channels, sharing resources between teams, starting with small experiments, embracing challenges, and focusing on why changes are being made rather than just what is being changed.

ABSTRACT
From myths to trends and best practice, actual usage, engagement, design patterns and interactions - in this session, I will go through the insights behind the stats and take a look at the reality behind mobile and what really matters when designing for multiple devices.
This document discusses trends in how customers are accessing content and applications, and provides guidance on how to adapt sales strategies accordingly. It notes that revenue from mobile applications is growing rapidly as users access more content through apps on mobile devices. It also discusses different generational groups and their preferences around technology. The document then provides recommendations for how to understand customers' needs and guide them through the purchase decision process, including asking diagnostic questions, understanding usage profiles, focusing on benefits rather than technical details, helping customers envision potential, and providing options without overwhelming them with too many choices.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
