Frame 1
Within frame 1 we see a group of students sat in a classroom, in front of a white board and
above it is a projector and a teacher sat at the desk. However, we can also see the students
sat on their phones not paying attention in class, also the teacher is talking. The brief is
aimed at teenagers so the setting which would fit best into the category would be a school
as children in the UK have to have an education by law. The first shot of the film will be
opened up by a wide shot, this is because we can see the whole of the classroombut all the
people in it. For mise-en-scene we also will see the glare of the lighting off the mobile
phones, however this will also be targeted at the target audience due to the whole brief is
aimed at children studying more than spending time on their phones. For sound there will
be diegetic as the teacher will be talking but no one will be listening meaning they will be
talking to themselves. The location will be set in a school so no travelling to any other places
will be needed however parents/guardians of the children will need to sign a contributor
release form if the actors are under 16 years. A transition will be put in place which will
dissolve into shot 2.
Frame 2
The second frame is a close up of a student’s mobile phone being shown, it is unlocked as
we can see the different outlines of the apps, but we can also see the phone is in a student’s
hand. The shot itself would show the detail of the phone, as I suggested we can see the
outline of the apps suggests the students are not listening to their teacher which would be
getting in the way of their learning which leads to a negative impact on their education. We
can know that from the last scene the teacher is talking to the class however none of the
students are paying attention. We also know that someone is reading through unread
messages on their phone. For sound it will also be diegetic as this is suggesting the teacher
is still talking to their class but nobody is listening which would imply that the whole class
are silent. For a transition it will cut into the next scene, which would be appropriate within
this context.
Frame 3
The third frame will be a wide shot of students sitting at a table, the camera will be used
with a dolly and track, meaning it will be slid across the table in order so we can see the
students faces as they are looking on their mobile phones. The students are all at school and
we know this by the uniform they are wearing as it clearly states a shirt, tie and blazer. The
sound used within this frame will be diegetic, this is because the teacher is still explaining to
the class what they have to do but none of the students are listening. The transition which
will be used will be a cut into shot 4.
Frame 4
Within the fourth frame, we see an over the shoulder shot of a mobile phone vibrating and
flashing a notification up. But we also see a white board in the class room but also the
teacher looks up at the class due to they have just heard a noise of a phone going off and
they are not impressed. However, the noise which the mobile phone sounds will be editing
into the film to seem realistic, but to also promote awareness that their education is
important and any distractions can be a bad thing. The sound which will be used within the
shot will be diegetic this is because the teacher is still talking but then hears the mobile
phone go off and stops talking. The transition will cut into scene 5 quickly.
Frame 5
In the fifth frame, we see a wide shot of the teacher standing up looking at their class and
telling them off for being on their phones, the shot would suggest that the shot is aiming to
focus on the teacher telling their class of for not listening. The noise within the shot is
diegetic and this is because we only can hear the teacher shouting at the students sit there
silently listening to the teacher shouting at them; this would mean that they have been
given the idea that they get what they are doing. The shot will transition into the next scene
as a cut, this is because it is appropriate for the context.
Frame 6
In this shot we see an over the shoulder shot from what it looks like behind the teacher, this
could mean we are looking at the students from the teachers point of view, from what we
see is the students look up from their mobile phones but after it they look back down at the
glare of them. The teacher carries on talking and explaining whatever they are trying to say
to their class. The sound is diegetic as the whole class are once again silent, however the
teacher is still talking. The transition moves into the next scene as a cut which suits this
frame and the other shot.
Frame 7
This shot we can see from a student’s point of view, which they seemto be sat on the
second row watching their teacher pull a piece of paper out to explain something to their
class. The shot type is a wide shot as we can see two students, the teacher holding the piece
of paper but also the whiteboard which is set in the classroom. The sound which will be
used within this frame will be footsteps of the teacher moving, but also the paper ruffling as
they pick it up and start talking, but it is also a slow-motion shot which would imply
attention is being built up for the target audience. This detail of the shot would suggest that
the sound will be diegetic as it is a realistic idea of what a classroom should be. The
transition forms into the next scene and it dissolves which would be appropriate to the
context.
Frame 8
In this shot we see what information is on the paper as it is handed out to the teachers’
students, the person who hands out the paper is the teacher. The shot which is used is an
over the shoulder shot of the students looking at what is on the paper which has just been
handed out to them, however it is also a slow-motion which once again would suggest
tension being built up for the target audience as they may start to think the students are in
trouble for being on their mobile phones. The sound which will be used within this scene
will be paper ruffling, as it is being handed out but also footsteps as the teacher is moving
around giving the other pieces of papers out to the students, so the sound will be diegetic.
The next scene will transition into the next frame as a cut scene as this fit appropriately.
 Good Terminology.
 Good understanding of the justification.
 Could add how the audience might be effected through out the shots you have gave
feedback on.
