Current edition: DELICIOUS SUMMER | Issue No. 03/2015
Let the summer begin!
Since Renaissance times, it has been drawing privileged urbanites to the countryside, coast or into the mountains. There is an elegant word for this in French – villégiature. It means a time of leisure, relaxation and escape from stuffy everyday life. The German term „Sommerfrische“ (summer retreat) expresses a desire to take a breather particularly beautifully.
What used to be reserved for nobility, is now possible for many people in our world. Thanks to wonderful hotels in the most stunning spots from the High North to the Mediterranean south.
Enjoy a delightful summer and start your „villégiature“ with this summer issue of Stylemate, which takes you from the North Sea to the Algarve and from the Balearics to East Tyrol.
Have a great trip!

What is worth striving for? Success, power, happiness,
love, recognition? Love, for sure, and probably happiness as
well. But why not also strive for clarity? In our increasingly
complicated world, having an unclouded view of things is
a huge advantage. We need to learn to understand relationships
in a new way – and increase what we demand of
everyone. Life is becoming more and more complex, so it’s
good to have a clear head. To be able to speak using clear
language. But also to be clear about what we want.
In this issue of THE Stylemate, we’re talking about clarity.
We want to hear clear language from people so we’re able to
understand better. We want to have a clear head so we can
have a better grasp on the world, as we find ourselves in an
increasingly swift state of transition.
We want to see clear lines in architecture and follow clear
visions. Because one thing is clear: nothing ever stays the
same. That’s what makes it so important to have an unclouded
view of the world. And this view of the world is our greatest
passion.
Wonach lohnt es sich zu streben? Nach Erfolg, nach Macht,
nach Glück, nach Liebe oder nach Anerkennung? Nach Liebe
definitiv, nach Glück wahrscheinlich auch. Warum aber nicht
nach Klarheit streben? In unserer zunehmend
komplexeren
Where does the world flourish? How far into the future do you have to look if you want to know how the world evolves? Which people and companies should we be aware of? What visions should we share and how can we pull together to shape the world? We have many questions on our minds, and we hope that we can provide a few answers in this issue of THE Stylemate. For this reason, we’ve set our sights on Mexico, because we believe that’s where you can see clearly what tourism will and should look like. We establish that there are passionate people who have learnt to listen to their conscience and then act accordingly. Future researcher Christiane Varga shares with us her vision for the world – will she be proved right? We are of the opinion that a form of community concept would encourage beautiful flowers to blossom. A concept that provides answers to questions like “How do I manage to bring people together, allow them to take part in something real?”, “How can a concept, an idea be developed through participation?”, “How does something new emerge from passionate, interested, genuine people?”. Because that might just be what makes a difference in future: involving people and not AI.
When the world around us becomes more turbulent, we search
for harmony and balance in the small things, within ourselves.
It’s balance we need so that our own world doesn’t fall apart at the
seams. In Japan, this is called “nagomi”, which refers to a holistic
way of life shaped by harmony and balance.
Japanese neuroscientist Ken Mogi, who we’ve interviewed for this
issue, explains how you can live a balanced life thanks to nagomi –
balanced meaning that things aren’t great all of the time. Quite the
opposite: in order to have balance, both extremes of an emotion or
situation have to exist. To have fortune in life there must also be
misfortune, for love there has to be loss, for fun there has to be work
and for altruism there has to be selfishness. Zest for life, or to put
it more strongly true happiness, occurs when you manage to accept
all facets of life and bring them into balance.
Nagomi is a way of life that shows us what makes us more resilient,
what benefits us in our relationships and everyday lives. What else
does us good? Discovering the world by travelling, meeting new
people and interacting with them. What we need is the feeling
of connectedness. Especially when so much of what’s around us is
uncertain.

THE Stylemate issue 03|2021 - into the futureTHE Stylemate
Our future seems more uncertain than ever, and even harder to predict. The small-scale way to look at it is in terms of what the winter will bring for tourism, while the broader question is a matter of considering the climate crisis. That’s why we’ve made the future the topic of this issue of THE Stylemate.
THE Stylemate issue 03|2021 - into the futureTHE Stylemate
THE Stylymate, Issue 02|2021 think! and then act rightsTHE Stylemate
Versand.
think! and then act right. ist der Titel dieser Ausgabe:
In unseren LIFESTYLEHOTELS sowieso.
Issue No. 02/2021 | 40 Seiten
THE Stylymate, Issue 02|2021 think! and then act rightsTHE Stylemate
This issue's topic is: think! and then act right.
There doesn't seem to be an innocent light-heartedness anymore. We also have these thoughts, and it's this "contemplation" that we've devoted this issue to.
We met free-diver and environmental activist Christian Redl, who supports the protection of the sea through his “7Oceans“ project. We spoke to him about climate change, ghost nets, overfishing and the plundering of the world’s oceans. What is there to be positive about? The fact that Christian Redl believes there is a solution to every problem.
We also want to believe that. And it gets easier when you consider the many people who try to make a difference through their work. Day in, day out. We’ve invited chefs Stefanie Herkner and Paul Ivic for an interview, taken a look around the new Green Pea shopping centre in Turin, which is entirely dedicated to sustainability, and got to know several sustainable fashion labels a little better.
There are also many special characters in craft and design with ideas along the right lines – as there are at our LIFESTYLEHOTELS. Once again, we’ve been lucky enough to get to know some incredibly interesting people who we’ve been able to contemplate with. Because that’s what matters: not eliminating things but rather acting consciously and naturally. Preferably all together.
But first of all, we hope we can encourage you to contemplate with our “thoughtful” issue.
THE Stylemate, Issue 01|2021: a time between times THE Stylemate
In our last issue, we used this page to write about our hopes and dreams for the future. We were somewhat hopeful that the next time we came to write this passage, we would be a bit closer to reaching them than where we find ourselves now. But where are we, actually?
THE Stylemate - was ist es wert? issue 03|2020THE Stylemate
was uns wichtig ist, wann etwas Wert
besitzt und welche Vorstellungen von Wert
es gibt. Dazu zeigen wir auf dem Cover ein
Bild des österreichischen Künstlers Martin
Grandits, der in seinen Arbeiten auf sehr
humorvolle Weise mit diesem Thema spielt.
Womit wir auch beim zweiten Schwerpunkt
unserer Ausgabe wären: Österreich. So oft
Stolz. Wir haben viele tolle Gespräche mit
interessanten Persönlichkeiten geführt und
dabei versucht, den Wert von Dingen zu
erörtern. Mit Innovationsconsultant Mario
Pricken haben wir deswegen über den Wert
von Objekten und die Veränderung unseres
Wertekompasses durch Covid-19 gesprochen,
mit Wiener Weinhändlern über das „Kellergold“
und die Emotionen, die es wecken
kann und mit dem Grazer Designer Lukas
Klingsbichel über den Wert der Funktion
und den bedachten Einsatz von Materialien.
Ihnen allen bedeutet das, was sie machen,
unglaublich viel und die Wertschätzung, die
sie gegenüber ihrer Tätigkeit empfinden, ist
im Vordergrund. Und damit ist eigentlich
schon viel verraten, über den wahren Wert
der Dinge.
THE Stylemate - what is of value to us? issue 03|2020THE Stylemate
The year 2020 is drawing to a close and
most people probably have the same thing
on their minds – mostly, wishing for the
arrival of the New Year. We hope we’ll be able
to overcome Covid-19, and that this period
of worry and uncertainty that far exceeds
normal levels will soon be a thing of the past.
We’re dreaming of once more being able to
move around freely, to travel and to meet
new people. To discover new places and to
feel unlimited well-being when we get there.
In this issue, we have reflected on what is
important to us, when something has value
and what notions of value there are. Our
cover shows an image by Austrian artist
Martin Grandits, who deals with this topic
in a humorous way in his works. And that
takes us onto the second theme of this
issue: Austria. So often (and so readily) we
have looked beyond the horizon in previous
issues of THE Stylemate and explored
the whole wide world. But this time, we
contemplate what’s closer to home, and
we do it with great passion and no small
amount of pride. We’ve had many great
conversations with interesting people, and
attempted to debate the value of things.
We talked with innovation consultant Mario
Pricken about the value of objects and the
change in our value compass caused by
Covid-19, with Viennese wine merchants
about “cellar secrets” and the emotions they
can evoke, and with Graz-based designer
Lukas Klingsbichel about the value of the
function and mindful use of materials.
For all of them, the most important things
are those that they do often, and the sense
of value they find in their occupations.
And that reveals a lot about the true value
of things.
THE Stylemate - nobody believed it - issue 02 | 2020 DeutschTHE Stylemate
Nachdem die Welt sich gerade von Minute
zu Minute verändert und langfristige Pläne
für eine Weile ausgedient haben, so scheint
es, haben auch wir beschlossen, bei dieser
Ausgabe von THE Stylemate manche Dinge
frei in seinem Schaffen. Das Ergebnis sehen
Sie nun, wenn Sie wieder zurückblättern.
So steht da nun geschrieben: „nobody
believed it – faith“. Und aus diesem Grund
können Sie auf dieser Seite in fetten Lettern
lesen „but we did do“.
eintauchen.
THE Stylemate - nobody believed it - issue 02 | 2020THE Stylemate
When it felt like the world was changing
constantly from one minute to the next, and
it seemed that any long-term plans would
have to be thrown out the window, we joined
the journey into the unknown and decided
to make this issue of THE Stylemate more
spontaneous and experimental. You’ll see
that there isn’t a person looking up at you
from the front cover as usual – instead, we
commissioned emerging artist Alessandro
Painsi to think about creating something
different for it. Bar a couple of general
pointers like “maybe something with text”
and “it should be about people”, he was
otherwise given free rein. You can see
the result of this creative freedom now if
you turn back a page. It says, very simply,
“nobody believed it – faith”. This inspired
us to reply “but we did do”, as you can see
written boldly on this page. It is important
for us to add at this stage: we believe that
everything will be OK, because we believe in
people and have faith in what they do, and
that’s what this issue of THE Stylemate is
all about. We discuss human nature and
talk about people and what they do, what
they dream about, what inspires them and
what drives them. They are people that
inspire faith, both in themselves and in
others. We’ve also experimented with the
cover story, in which we present work by
photographer Mathilde Karrèr, whose image
titles resonate with the theme of the article.
But there’s no need to say any more here.
Keep turning the page and have faith that
you’ll find some wonderful stories to read.
THE Stylemate - wabi sabi 01|2020 DeutschTHE Stylemate
aufregende japanische Perlen zeigen lassen.
berichten.
Und natürlich gibt es wieder ausgewählte Hotels,
die Sie zum Reisen inspirieren sollen.

HERAUSGEBER
THE Stylemate - wabi sabi 01|2020 ENGLISHTHE Stylemate
Wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection, is a Japanese
concept of aesthetic values that we really like and wish to
embrace. This issue of THE Stylemate is dedicated to all things
Japan and we have put together a selection of many beautiful
things for you to enjoy, some of which are virtually perfect,
while others are so interesting that that could be deemed as
their version of beauty. The reason for orienting our focus on
Japan and the Japanese culture is that this summer will see
Tokyo playing host to the Olympic Games. Our cover is more
unusual than sporty, but we think it is the perfect example
of the concept of wabi-sabi. Successful Japanese artist Yayoi
Kusama is known for her polka dots that have the capacity to
put us into an almost trance-like state and convey the feeling
of obsession, and this spring will be presenting a huge show in
The New York Botanical Garden. Information and photos that
have already been released to the press indicate that it will be
something quite extraordinary. So we’re not just looking at
Japan in Japan, but also at Japan around the world.
In this respect, we have chatted to Vienna resident and lighting
designer Megumi Ito, and asked an Austrian jeweller to show
us some exciting Japanese pearls. We write about how we in
Europe can be inspired by unusual culinary delicacies from
Japan, and which designers and fashion stores in Tokyo you
absolutely have and visit. Helder Suffenplan, a publicist
living in Berlin, talks in his column about fragrance and his
love of Japan – he will also report in future issues on the world
of olfactory delights.
And of course, we have the usual selection of hotels that are
sure to inspire you to get out and travel.

Let the summer begin!
Since Renaissance times, it has been drawing privileged urbanites to the
countryside, coast or into the mountains. There is an elegant word for this
in French – villégiature. It means a time of leisure, relaxation and escape
from stuffy everyday life. The German term ”Sommerfrische” (summer
retreat) expresses a desire to take a breather particularly beautifully.
What used to be reserved for nobility and the upper classes, owners of
villas and country houses, in the past, is now possible for many people
in our world. Thanks to wonderful hotels in the most stunning spots from
the High North to the Mediterranean south.
Enjoy a delightful summer and start your ”villégiature” with this summer
issue of Stylemate, which takes you from the North Sea to the Algarve
and from the Balearics to East Tyrol.
Have a great trip!

/ THE BALEARICS /
MY MAJOI REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I SET FOOT ON THE BALEARIC ISLAND REALLY WELL. I IMMEDIATELY FELT AT HOME
THERE. THEN WHEN I SAW THE CAPITAL OF PALMA DE MALLORCA WITH ITS HISTORICAL OLD TOWN AND PORT I
KNEW THAT I WOULD COME BACK AGAIN. THE VIEW OF THE LA SEU GOTHIC CATHEDRAL THAT TOWERS OVER EVERY-
THING AND CASTELL DE BELLVER, A MEDIEVAL FORTRESS THAT RISES IN THE BACKGROUND, IS IMPRESSIVE TIME
AND TIME AGAIN.
On a walk through the old town of Palma
and on a trip along the coast I got to know
some wonderfully situated lifestyle hotels,
great bars and original restaurants.
I park my car in one of the underground ga-
rages just before Palau de la Almudaina and
the La Seu cathedral. After my first coffee
in the stylish Mar de Nudos (www.mardenu-
dos.com) I start my stroll around town. From
the small Placa de la Reina it‘s just a few
steps to the Hotel Tres in the Calle Apunta-
dores in the beautiful part of borough Born.
By the way, the Abacho bar, which is really
worth seeing, is just around the corner.
Hotel Tres – Majorcan charm meets
Nordic design
The lifestyle hotel, managed by the charis-
matic Norwegian Svenn Rudow, is situated
right in the heart of the old town just a few
steps away from the elegant Passeig des
Born shopping street. The old historical
city palace from the 16th century is skilfully
linked to a 1950s building by a glass stair-
case. The hotel‘s charm impresses any lover
of design. With the Tres table, which is as
wide as a bed and can be rolled anywhere,
even dining ”in bed” is fun. You can relax on
the two roof-top terraces with a wonderful
view over the sea, mountains and famous
cathedral.
On the Passeig des Born with its large sy-
camore trees, town houses, city palaces
and luxury boutiques I turn into Carrer Sant
Feliu, one of my favourite lanes with wonder-
ful, elegant shops. I like going to the Rialto
Living lifestyle store here with its nice café
(www.rialtoliving.com). Back on the Passeig
des Born I search for the little Carrer Can
Veri in the maze of lanes, which also has fan-
tastic shops and the great Galerie K. (www.
galeria-k.com). Just after the little San Nico-
las church, the Placa Mercat opens up with
its two in bars Nicolas and Gibson.
After recharging my batteries I walk over
the Placa Weyler, past the Grand Hotel and
Palma‘s oldest Art Deco bakery Forn des
Teatre, up the hill into the Hotel Convent de
la Missió and its excellent ”Simply Fosh” re-
staurant in the rather inconspicuous Carrer
de la Missió.
Here I meet Luis Seminario, General Mana-
ger of the 3 hotels Convent de la Missió, Can
Simoneta and Font Santa. He charmingly
and enthusiastically talks about the unique-
ness of these hotels.
Living in a cloister
The Convent de la Missió hotel originates
from the 17th century and was formerly a
cloister. Whether you‘re in the salon, bar,
restaurant or on the sun terrace or in the
sauna, it is pleasantly peaceful everywhe-
re. At every turn you can see the love of the
owners, a long-established Majorcan family,
for local and international art. The ”Simply
Fosh” restaurant with its first Michelin star is
also an attraction.
A Finca ”above” the sea
The 5-star Can Simoneta hotel is situated in
the north east of the island on a high plateau
with breathtaking view over the sea. Vast
gardens surround the finca hotel‘s buildings,
including the Beach House right on Can-
yamel beach. Besides tranquillity and harm-
ony, Can Simoneta also offers its guests lots
of sporting opportunities, there are several

ORCAgolf courses in the near vicinity. The restau-
rant with exquisite cooking and even some
home-grown products also has a magical
view over the Bay of Canyamel.
Thermal Spa & Wellness
The Font Santa Hotel in the south of Major-
ca has the only thermal spring in the Balea-
rics. What is special is that this underground
spring supplies the swimming pool, the
Jacuzzis and the Vichy showers with water
rich in minerals. A harmony of the traditional
and modern influence the 36 rooms in the
idyllic surroundings of the Es Trenc natural
beach and the salt marshes of Campos.
CarreteraCampos–ColoniadeSantJordi:Km8
I now quickly nip up a little lane with steps
and I can already see the market halls of the
Mercat de l‘Olivar on Placa Mercat. After a
few treats and lovely glass of white wine I
make my way back. I stroll through the Car-
rer de la Miguel pedestrian area, cross the
Placa Mayor and follow the Jaume II as far
as Placa Cort with an age-old huge olive
tree. From here it’s just a few steps downhill
back to the parking garage.
Now I have to decide. I can either go on a
long walk along the beachfront promenade
towards Portixol and eat at Can Punta, the
restaurant owned by the famous actress
Sonja Kirchberger. Or I can get in the car
and drive to Porto Portals to Beach Alm. On
the way there I‘ll check out the Zhero lifestyle
hotel again in the Bay of Cala Major.
Sonja Kirchberger‘s hotspot Can Punta
Sonja Kirchberger took over the Can Punta
in a little fishing port between Portixol and
Molinar in 2014. The petite, attractive ac-
tress arrives for our meeting at her cosy re-
staurant with a suitcase as she has to fly off
to Germany for rehearsals for Shakespeare
performances with the director Dieter Wedel
straight afterwards. ”I can do every job in my
restaurant, I can cook every dish and mix
every cocktail,” the perfectionist proudly ex-
plains to me. She sewed the denim uphols-
tery herself. Denim curtains and covers for
the menus, where I even find a genuine
Wienerschnitzel, are just being made, Sonja
reveals to me before she is already on her
way out with a final wave.

Cap Falco Beach and Beach Alm
”Cap Falco Beach is a dream beach in a
nature conservation area,” explains Nadine
Niklas, ”guests here really enjoy simply sit-
ting with their feet in the sand, relaxing and
eating what the chef bought fresh from the
market in the morning.” Many of the regular
guests don‘t even want the menu, they would
much rather we surprise them. Chilled out in
stylish seats, lounges and sun loungers with
a stunning view of the sea.
Rustic furniture, red and white checked
tablecloths, deer antler on the wall and a
wonderful view of the beach and sea, that‘s
Beach Alm. The successful entrepreneur
Stefan Ohnek is delighted: ”My aim was a
mixture of canteen, mountain inn, socialising
and sport for families and it‘s a total suc-
cess”. Many famous people, especially from
the restaurant business, also meet at the
”Alm” and good contacts have been made
while indulging in an ”Alm Burger”.

Beach Feeling at Hotel Zhero
At Hotel Zhero in Carrera de Palma-Andratx,
which belongs to the successful entrepre-
neur and passionate kite boarder and surf
boarder Jens Liebhauser, modern design
and luxury meet a pleasant beach feeling.
There is total relaxation by the pool under
white sunshades with chill-out music, in the
exclusive indoor lounge or during an out-
standing dinner in the Open Grill Restaurant
and all of this just 7 kilometres away from
Palma‘s old town. The 39 rooms and suites
are tastefully decorated in minimalist design.
There is also total relaxation at the nearby
Zhero Beach Club right by the sea. Lounge
music, refreshments in the pool and cool
drinks, healthy food and sushi – ideal for
unwinding.
His new Zhero Boathouse Magaluf is very
exciting. The concept: no rules – just 20
beautiful girls and a Michelin-starred chef in
a beach house.

FOUNDED IN 2002, VITEO IS DISTINGUISHED BY FUNCTIONAL DESIGN AND AUS-
TRIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP. IN THE MEANTIME INTERNATIONAL STARS, SUCH AS

HOLLYWOOD FLAIR
FOR THE SUN TERRACE
An interview with company founder and
designer Wolfgang Pichler.
You once said that VITEO furniture would
improve the quality of life. To what extent?
For me quality of life means being able to use
it instantly, among other things. Let‘s take
the example of our outdoor kitchen: most of
our customers are in the upper income bra-
cket, which unfortunately also usually me-
ans that these people work very long hours.
When they come home on a warm summer
evening then they should find a kitchen they
can use instantly. In plain words this means:
it should not make any difference whether
they cook indoors or outdoors. As a result
they have the perfect end to their working
day without any time-consuming ceremo-
nies, like when barbecuing. This theme of
practicality and instant availability is consis-
tent throughout the VITEO range.
And you supply these kitchens all over the
world?
Not just the kitchens but all our products.
Our customers also include international
stars, for example Daniel Craig. We have
also equipped film sets with our furniture, for
example the Hollywood blockbuster ”The
Counselor” with Penelope Cruz, Cameron
Diaz and Brad Pitt.
Keyword design: What‘s important, what‘s
an absolute no-go?
There are different approaches but design
is always based on the formal requirement.
This requirement is of course different and
often contemporary too. However: there are
things that survive decades, the real de-
sign pieces, the design classics. There are
shapes and connections that simply appear
logical and natural. That‘s when design is
just right, when the product exudes clari-
ty and authenticity, a certain implicitness.
Good design is pleasing to the observer,
time and time again. Personally I would de-
fine over-the-top contemporary trends as a
no-go. Although design has many facets,
something that you can‘t bear to look at any
more after a year must be seen as more of
an experiment in my eyes and not as design.
As a designer how do you envisage your
perfect summer‘s day?
Spending the day on the beach and prepa-
ring for a warm summer‘s night with friends
in the late afternoon with a sundowner on
a comfortable terrace. It‘s this time espe-
cially, when the afternoon turns to evening,
that makes the perfect day for me: that‘s
precisely why I create furniture for this time
of day. STOP

/ CYPRUS /
AT THE HEART OF THE
ACTION AND YET INTIMATE
LIMASSOL IS LOCATED ON CYPRUS‘ SOUTH COAST IN THE GREEK PART. THE ISLAND‘S SECOND LARGEST CITY PRO-
VIDES LOTS OF POSSIBILITIES, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. SITUATED RIGHT ON THE COAST AND YET SUR-
ROUNDED BY COUNTRYSIDE, LIMASSOL STANDS OUT DUE TO ITS VARIETY OF CULTURAL ACTIVITIES ON OFFER:
THE NIGHT LIFE IN PLENTY OF CLUBS, DINING IN RESTAURANTS, A ROMAN AMPHITHEATRE, ROMANTIC STROLLING
ALONG THE PROMENADE – AND ALWAYS WITH THE SEA RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES...
The pretty Londa boutique hotel is
situated right next to the sea and re-
flects this culture perfectly: Cypriot
lace, delicate antique silver and wood
have been artistically combined by an
Italian team of designers. ”Our hotel is
very bijou and is distinguished by its
very intimate atmosphere. We are a
small team and know our guests be-
cause we cross their path every day.”
The hotel offers its own honeymoon
suite for lovers with circular bed, the de-
luxe rooms have a clear view over the
turquoise blue sea. Guests can also
enjoy themselves totally undisturbed in
the hotel‘s own restaurant, the Caprice
with Italian-influenced Mediterranean
cuisine. ”A great little hotel for anyone
who does not want mass processing on
holiday,” guests rave on various online
rating platforms.
Due to Limassol‘s good location, many
sights are just a stone‘s throw away or
easy to reach with a hire car. Jochen
Niemann, Director of Londa, provides a
few tips:
The Troodos mountain range with its high-
est elevation, Mount Olympus, invites you
to hike in the summer and ski in the winter.
A few days a year the weather on Cyprus
even allows you to combine a skiing holiday
with a beach holiday, in fact on the same
day if you like. With its unique flora and fau-
na (the last wild mouflons, a species of wild
sheep, live here) the forested ”green heart”
of Cyprus is not only very popular with tou-
rists but also with the Cypriots themselves.
A detour to one of the picturesque wine villa-
ges is recommended on the way home.
The idyllic mountain village of Lefkara is lo-
cated very nearby, in the south of the Tro-
odos mountains. Made famous by the co-
veted ”Lefkaritika” embroidery, Leonardo da
Vinci supposedly purchased an altar cloth
for Milan cathedral here, the village is ex-
tremely charming with its narrow lanes and
leaves behind a lasting impression.
A trip to Aphrodite Beach is definitely worth
the car ride, according to the legend the
Goddess of Love Aphrodite rose out of the
foam here. All around the legendary rock,
young couples look for heart-shaped stones
on the beach or swim around the rock on
nights with a full moon. Anyone who swims
around it three times shall be rewarded with
eternal love... STOP

While I‘m writing these tips and want to look
forward to the summer, a storm outside is
knocking against my window and making
me think of snow and far-away glaciers.
An average snow hailstorm darkens the
sky while colourful images of the Biennale
preview flicker over the screen. The sky is
perfectly blue over the Grand Canal and the
Austrian pavilion shines in elegant white. Ah,
there it is again, that summer feeling. Many
artists also have the theme of shifting cold
and warm fronts and a changing climate in
their programme. That‘s why some summer
dates are a retrospective on melting glaciers,
ice & the past romance of mountaineering
(The Essence of the World/Kunsthaus Wien
or the Matterhorn Story). Others in turn get
you in the mood for urban pop, music fes-
tivals and art in cool museums on humid
boiling hot days. And as eating is meanwhile
a topic of everyday urban culture, a food
exhibition is taking place this year in Bella
Italia. The world exhibition in Milan is totally
dedicated to the topic of food, but what we‘ll
eat in future is already on my menu today.
Namely, healthy, regional and sensible. And
Italian Mama‘s cooking is second to none
anyway. So head for summer, wherever the
journey takes you, music, art & the theatre
keep the soul fit.

What does a Japanese woman do up a
mountain? She takes photos, for example,
of the Dachstein with its powerful poetry and
shows her photographs, films and books in
a separate Austria cycle that took her into
the glacier landscape of the Dachstein. ”And
something else became clear to me with
the yakihata (traditional farming technique
of starting fires): looking at the totally burnt

that I was burnt myself. The feeling was so

The Hotel Metropole lies in ruins in Vienna at
the end of the war in 1945. It was one of the
city‘s first hotels and was part of the ”Grün-

It was transformed into the German Reich‘s
largest Gestapo headquarters by the Natio-
nal Socialists. Up to 900 employees worked
here who were responsible for having ar-
rested, interrogated, tortured and deported
roughly 16,000 people between 1938 and
1945. As part of Into the City, Austrian and

Matterhorn Story / Zermatt
It happened on 12 July 1865. The English-
man Edward Whymper is outraged: he
wanted to conquer the Matterhorn for the
eighth time with his Italian friend and moun-
tain guide Jean-Antoine Carell. But Carell
started out on his own in the middle of the
night without Whymper. This is followed by
a retaliatory expedition by seven mountai-
neers. The first ascent is successful but the
next morning only three of the seven return.

MORE THAN
THE DOLOMITES,
MAN!
YOU CAN EXPERIENCE EAST TYROL IN FOUR HOURS AS THE WINNER OF PROBABLY THE TOUGHEST TEAM COM-
PETITION IN THE WORLD, THE ”RED BULL DOLOMITENMANN”. BUT YOU WON‘T HAVE SEEN THE EAGLE. EVERYONE
SHOULD TAKE A LITTLE BIT MORE TIME FOR THIS, YOU‘LL BE RICHLY REWARDED.
/ EAST TYROL /
The ”Red Bull Dolomitenmann”, that‘s East
Tyrol in condensed form: four men run
(largely up a mountain), fly (or paraglide),
mountain bike and paddle a generously
measured marathon course of 43 kilome-
tres (not including the paragliding section).
And at the end one of the roughly 120
teams has won. Last year it was the Adidas
Outdoor team.
The unofficial extreme sports world cham-
pionship was invented by the former Aus-
trian downhill skier Werner ”Grizzly” Griss-
mann (winner of the downhill bronze medal
at the 1978 Ski World Cup in Garmisch-
Partenkirchen). Born in East Tyrol, he was
considered to be a bit of a ”colourful per-
sonality” during his active days but not ne-
cessarily a sportsman who likes to torture
himself. However, with the Dolomitenmann
he invented a sports competition in 1988
in which thousands have been voluntari-
ly and gladly torturing themselves since
then. 1988 was also the year when the Red
Bull energy drink became a huge success
around the world (Red Bull was launched in
1987 and could only be bought in Austria).
So it is probably more than a coincidence
that the ”Dolomitenmann” was the first ma-
jor sporting event that the energy drink pro-
ducer sponsored and still sponsors today.
The race starts in Lienz. East Tyrol‘s regio-
nal capital, which is steeped in history, has
far more to offer though than just a start
and finish line: it‘s crowning glory is Burg
Bruck where the Counts of Görz once re-
sided. Besides the Leopold Museum in
Vienna, today the castle houses the lar-
gest collection of works by the painter Al-
bin Egger-Lienz who is as famous as he is
controversial. The Egger-Lienz permanent
exhibition has been totally reorganised and
open again since May 2015 under the title
”I don‘t paint farmers but forms”.
The men in the Dolomitenmann competi-
tion run from there high up into the Lienz
Dolomites, into a breathtaking mountain
landscape (East Tyrol has well over 200
three thousand metre peaks) – but the men
don‘t even notice these as they‘re pursuing
a goal, namely to be the first to hand the
”baton” over to their next partner at the pa-
ragliding start line.
Competing with the eagle
He‘s then allowed to paraglide down to the
valley again, which is somewhat faster than
running up the mountain despite a layover.
And the paraglider can also compete with
one of the eagles that circle over East Tyrol.
Collisions are not to be feared though, not
just because eagles are excellent flyers and
reach three times the speed of a paraglider.
But also because their preferred habitat is
further north in East Tyrol, in and around
the Hohe Tauern national park, the largest
conservation area in the Alps and the Groß-
glockner, Austria‘s highest mountain, where
East Tyrol and the Austrian federal states of
Carinthia and Salzburg meet. The ”Adler-
weg” trail also leads through this region, a
long-distance hiking trail, which (also) leads
100 kilometres across East Tyrol, usually at
a constant altitude of 2,000 to 2,500 metres.
Hikers should not be afraid of heights and
must be sure-footed although the effort is
within limits as the individual stages are only
roughly 10 kilometres long and there are
plenty of mountain inns where you can enjoy
East Tyrolean specialities and spend a cosy
night. The paragliding Dolomitenmann is in
a hurry to get back down to the valley again
though. He hands over to the mountain bi-
ker in the team who has to overcome 16 ki-
lometres uphill and ten kilometres downhill.
Kayaks and trout
Finally the Dolomitenmann takes to the
water. With a seven metre jump in a kayak
in fact. It‘s not surprising that the Dolomi-
tenmann chronicle reported 42 destroyed
boats and 87 unusable paddles for the first
25 years. The venue for the water stage is
the Isel, the largest free flowing glacial river
in the Alps. The water is not just a chal-
lenge for the tough men in the Dolomiten-
mann competition but also a paradise for
fly fishers, who catch the abundant rainbow
trout, graylings and huchen.
East Tyrol‘s ambiance is probably what ma-
kes the ”Red Bull Dolomitenmann” so at-
tractive: ”It‘s a unique feeling, not just due
to the sporting achievement but mainly due
to the special experience that this event gi-
ves you. Expressed in simple terms: There is
nothing like this anywhere else!” said Jakob
Herrmann, paraglider in the 2014 winning
team.

Relaxation and
action in East Tyrol
The 28th Dolomitenmann starts on 12 Sep-
tember 2014. Registrations started a long
time ago. And spaces are tight. As only
125 teams of four people each are allowed
to take part. Visitors are always welcome
though. And they don‘t have to be runners,
paragliders, mountain bikers or kayakers.
You can also ”just” play golf: for example, a
24-hole Championship golf course is availa-
ble to you near Lienz. Three different 18-
hole courses offer you plenty of variety and
plenty of challenges against the impressive
skyline of the Lienz Dolomites. Although you
can‘t see the eagle there you might catch
sight of Werner Grissmann, who is also a
passionate golfer. STOP

14. WILD&MILDADMITTEDLY, NEITHER THE NORTH SEA NOR BALTIC SEA CAN COMPETE WITH IDYLLIC SOUTHERN BEACHES, EVEN
IF LOCAL TOURISM HAS TRIED TO EVOKE THESE KINDS OF ASSOCIATIONS OVER THE COURSE OF CENTURIES WITH
ALMOST MEDITERRANEAN LOOKING PROMENADES. NO, ONE OF THEM IS WILD AND THE OTHER ONE IS ROUGH AT
ANY RATE. AND IT‘S ALWAYS THE ”SEA” NOT THE ”OCEAN” AS THAT IS GENTLE IN COMPARISON. HOWEVER: BOTH OF
THEM ARE STUNNING, IN PARTICULAR FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT PURE NATURE: VAST AND WILD AND UNTOUCHED.
HERE‘S A HOLIDAY TIP FOR PEOPLE WHOSE HEART STARTS RACING WHEN THERE‘S A STIFFER BREEZE AND WHOSE
EYES WIDEN WHEN HIKING OVER A CLIFF OR MUD FLATS.
THE WILD
NORTH
The natural landscape of the Wadden Sea by
the North Sea is unique in the world. Besides
the Alps, it is the only region in Central Europe
where the natural dynamics and beauty have
remained intact over a large area. That‘s why
the Wadden Sea is now also on the UNESCO
”World Heritage Site” list.
The ebb and flow alternate every six hours
in the Wadden Sea. For passionate animal
observers this means: seals are still cheer-
fully cavorting on the hunt for stressed fish
and just a little bit later swarms of wading
birds are stalking across the same area tu-
cking into really tasty beach crabs, mudflat
worms and snails. Okay, some people may
think, ”there are almost as many seals in
the north as there is sand at the proverbial
ocean” – they may be right. However: the-
re are for example also grey seals and they
have become very rare in the meantime. But
they can be found on the Knobsände just
off Amrum and in fact for anyone who wants
to go on a seal watch boat trip, with a bit of
luck an itinerant whale may cross their fair-
way during their trip to the seals. For those
/ THE NORTH AND BALTIC SEA /
whose constitution is not quite as (North)
seaworthy, there is also another option: grey
seals also live at the Friedrichskoog seal
sanctuary.
More than 10,000 species of animals and
plants have been counted in and at north-
ern Wadden Sea – the landscapes are
vast and diverse at the same time: beauti-
fully flourishing salt marshes, dunes, rocky
and sandy coasts, gentle dikes and wild
cliffs feature prominently. The mudflat it-
self is anything but monotonous: large tidal
creeks and smaller channels structure the
areas exposing mussel banks, seagrass
beds and silt areas and therefore an extre-
mely lively biotope in the truest sense of the
word. And the Wadden Sea is of course a
paradise for ornithologists: dunlins, oyster-
catchers (the name is not misleading here,
they really do love mussels) and even sea
eagles are among the feathered guests, in
the latter case residents, on the northern
coast. Although sea eagles are still rare they
can be observed all year round at Wadden
Sea, with a bit of luck. There is also a good
The StrandGut Resort, the first lifestyle hotel on
the North Sea coast, is situated right on the pro-
menade of the St. Peter-Ording North Sea spa

their guests a casual ambience combined with
the cosy atmosphere typical of the North Sea

relaxation will find plenty of possibilities within
walking distance of the twelve kilometre long

examples.

chance of seeing them in Rickelsbüller and
Beltringharder Koog, in the Eider estuary
and in Speicherkoog Dithmarschen. By the
way: sea eagles, understandably for long-
serving coat of arms birds, are not satisfied
with just the little hors d‘oeuvres from the
mudflats. They prefer something a bit more
substantial and tuck into geese, seagulls and
other birds. And there are plenty of them!
But anyone who is less into nature watching
and more into sport is also well served in the
north: the North Sea winds are strong and
therefore a real godsend for experienced
sailors (no beginners please). The same
applies to the tides, which prove to be a
real challenge for surfers and kitesurfers.
But that‘s what it‘s all about up there in
the north. Pure nature – vast and wild and
untouched. STOP

THE MILD
EAST
The northern Baltic is considerably milder
but is still in the North East of Germany. In
winter the relatively flat Baltic Sea provides a
kind of ”hot water bottle effect” and therefo-
re a milder climate on the coast during the
cooler season. By the way, the Baltic Sea ex-
tends over roughly 1,000 kilometres from the
western to eastern edge. So there‘s definitely
plenty of coastline. And in fact along a much
warmer inland sea with less salt.
There is something profoundly ”Baltic” in
the Bay of Lübeck, the North‘s south in the
”south-western corner” of the Baltic Sea,
which can often be found on the beach, na-
mely amber. It‘s pleasant that the sparkling
gem can still be collected for your own use
in small amounts on the beach without any
Along the seven kilometres Timmendor-
fer Strand sandy beach in Lübeck Bay you
can find the first Baltic Sea lifestyle hotel,
the SANDTimmendorfer Strand – the name
stands for Sand Aspires Natural Design and
defines the natural nature of the hotel. The
focus here is on nature and its products: the
rooms are equipped with recycled teak and
beds made from purely natural materials, the

any amber might go home with a thunder
bolt. A fossilised part of a prehistoric squid

You should find out what that is in the right

Sailing and surfing are great on the Baltic
Sea: the winds are stiff enough but not quite
as wild as in the North Sea. You can disco-
ver a great deal diving too, be it wrecks of
various types of vessels from all times of war
and peace or just keeping it simple, good di-
ving spots can fortunately often be reached
directly from the beach too. Swimming is
also possible, especially in the summer. Bal-
tic Sea cycling tours are also highly recom-
mended as there are enough unspoilt natural
stretches of coastline that only really open up
to you once you‘re on your bike. The Baltic
Sea is naturally interesting from an animal
perspective too, endless birds, and... espe-
cially in the off-peak season (but not only) ...
dogs are also very welcome in this hospi-
table region. Which means: Buster, Poppy
and Molly can frolic freely on the beach
and jolt any flying artists into action. True
even for man‘s best friend: it‘s not the win-
ning that counts but the effort you put in.
In the peak season there are separate dog
beaches where owners and their dogs
can really enjoy the dolce vita by the sea
without any conflicts. STOP

LA DOLCE VITALONG SANDY BEACHES, CULINARY HIGHLIGHTS AND ROMANTIC LANDSCAPES – HEAD FOR BELLA ITALIA!
RIMINI
AMALFI COAST
Rimini has been one of the most popular
beaches on the Adria for decades. Major
events, like the ”Notte Rosa” already bring
the more than one hundred kilometre strip
along the coast of Emilia Romagna to life
at the beginning of the peak season: on the
first weekend in July, the ”pink night” attracts
hundreds of thousands every year who par-
ty dressed up in a whole variety of different
pink accessories or simply just admire the
pink fireworks. On this day the entire city only
knows one colour, so tens of thousands of
pink loungers and deckchairs also appear on
the beach. STOP
What is more yellow? An ice-cold Limoncello
or a fragrant lemon tree? Here on Italy‘s west
coast, on the Gulf of Salerno, the Amalfitana
winds 50 kilometres along the coast and links
stunning towns and a whole variety of artistic
crafts to one another: the city of Amalfi with
its magnificent cathedral, ceramics art in Vi-
etri sul Mare, the little town of Ravello with its
famous music festival for classical and jazz
lovers (from April to October) and Agerola,
the meeting place for gourmets. STOP
300 days of sunshine a year, a bathing
season from May to October and 2,000
kilometres of magical beaches make Sardi-
nia the perfect holiday destination: breath-
taking cliffs, cork oak forests by the Lago del
Coghinas reservoir, mountain landscapes
in Sopramonte, dark stalactite caves near
Arbatax.... The second largest island in the
Mediterranean after Sicily impresses with its
wonderful nature. The least you should do
is visit the island‘s capital of Cagliari, which
is really worth a detour: for example, for a
walk under the arcades in the Via Roma or a
coffee standing on Piazza Yenne, the largest
square in the old town. STOP
The first all-suite hotel on the Rimini Riviera
is right at the heart of the action. The rooms
here are up to 70 sqm large, so guests en-
joy the comfort of an apartment and service
of a hotel at the same time. The hotel‘s own
i-FAME restaurant, where the chef Daniele
Succi also likes to create futuristic dishes
using regional products, promises unfor-
gettable culinary highlights The challenge in
doing so is the hotel‘s ”zero food miles” con-
cept: the food may only have covered a few
kilometres from the producer‘s to the guest
at the restaurant to keep the ecological foot-
print as small as possible. The i-FEEL GOOD
spa also leaves nothing to be desired: on the
top floor of the hotel it‘s not just the heated
infinity pool that offers a magical view over
the sea but also two saunas.
Anyone who prefers things a bit more quiet,
should leave the small strip between the
sea and hotel and take a walk northwards
over the Tiberius bridge to the Borgo San
Giuliano old part of town: narrow lanes lead
to cosy squares where tourists mingle with
the locals and leisurely drink an espresso
or two together.

KNILLIHIDDEN STYLEMATE IN GRAZ
Graz is Austria‘s most Mediterranean city.
That is one but not the only reason why
thousands of visitors love coming to Graz
every year and enjoying the bustling street
scene over a cup of coffee in the cosy
outdoor restaurants and cafés or strolling
through the old town‘s lanes themselves.
Alongside the major chain stores, countless
shops have established themselves over
the last few decades in the City of Design
surrounded by a colourful mix of contem-
porary architecture and historical buildings.
One real secret tip is the family-run compa-
ny KNILLI: a visit to Stephan Lanzer and his
mother Eva Haider-Knilli, whose traditional
company has been bringing international fa-
shion to Graz for more than 75 years.
KNILLI is considered to be an uncompro-
mising trendsetter in terms of spirit of the
times, style, quality and service in Graz. The
gap between the modern and traditional is
skilfully bridged. High quality women‘s and
men‘s fashion awaits customers in a plea-
sant setting over more than 600 sqm with
lavish advice.

”Our claim is to have our finger on the pulse
of fashion and offer our customers perfect
products from renowned designers, such
as Dolce & Gabbana, Etro or Brunello Cuci-
nelli but also young promising labels such as
Theory, Dsquared² or Zadig & Voltaire,” ex-
plains Stephan Lanzer. He creates individual
looks with fashion advisers by combining
style, quality and exclusivity. As: ”Designer
fashion should accentuate the personali-
ty of the person wearing it through trendy
casualness or fashionable understatement
depending on what they want.” Identify-
ing the customers‘ personal preferences,
accentuating their style and also subtly con-
cealing, wherever necessary, are marks of
good taste incorporated into the advice.
The third generation at KNILLI is also com-
mitted to major names and young brands:
”Clothing must create perfect harmony in
the body shape, colours and cuts,” Ste-
phan Lanzer describes KNILLI‘s claim and
fulfils it every day. STOP

The flower island of Madeira proves to be
unexpectedly varied with its picturesque
capital of Funchal in the south: the coastal
town surrounded by banana plantations and
gardens has in fact not just been a hotspot
for more mature botanical fans for a long
time now, young keen city lovers are also
really crazy about the attractions of this gro-
wing, cosmopolitan city with first-class res-
taurants and buzzing night life.
Quinta da Bela Vista promises a wonderful
view over Funchal. The more than 160-year
old pretty family-owned castle was turned
into a luxury hotel and provides a view over
the surrounding gardens, coast and the At-
lantic. The hotel is not just impressive out-
side but inside too: the hotel‘s own art coll-

The WOOD LIGHT light collection is dedicated to the material wood and as a
consequence is unique on the market. The material qualities of wood, such
as the feel, smell and structure combined with the medium of light create a
product that combines the highest aesthetic standards of a design object
with the functional qualities of the latest light technology and Austrian crafts-
manship. The hexagonal wooden body inspired by a honeycomb with ring-
shaped perforations is covered in the finest veneer wood. Integrated LED
strips produce homogeneous light distribution that in interplay with the wood
create an art object that finds its original inspiration in nature.

PINCE-NEZ FOR
THE 21ST
CENTURY
Reading aid – that doesn‘t sound very sexy.
Or innovative. It sounds more like a ”device
for the young-at-heart”. Wrong! Although
Seeoo is a reading aid it is one that has won
Red Dot design awards and is causing a
sensation at trade fairs in Las Vegas, Paris
and Milan.
Seeoo started in a small family-run compa-
ny in Styria, in South East Austria. ”We are
opticians, we know what our customers‘
needs are,” explains Martin Lasnik who was
confronted with the need for a small, high
quality reading aid that can be used quickly
TEXT MARTIN NOVAK
WITH SEEOO A CLASSICAL READING AID IS TURNED INTO AN OPTICAL
PIECE OF JEWELLERY THAT REINTERPRETS TRADITIONAL CRAFTSMAN-
SHIP. TWO RED DOT DESIGN AWARDS IN FIVE YEARS ARE THE REWARD.
in 2009. His father, Gerald Lasnik, designed
a completely innovative reading aid back
then in no time at all: a ”pince-nez” that
can be placed on the nose without having
to take off your glasses. With this Lasnik
was reverting to a form of glasses that was
very popular in the 19th century, especially
among intellectuals and the upper classes
and was preferred to classic glasses with
temples.
A little bit later on in 2010, Seeoo ”classic”,
as the first version was called, was awarded
with the renowned Red Dot award for pro-
duct design. Global sales are done through
the sales head office in Rome. In the mean-
time there are new versions and additions to
the classic Seeoo. Seeoo ”light” is so light
that it can be attached to the back of any
smartphone in a special case (from Seeoo
too of course) and can be put on in no time
at all as a result. Seeoo ”big” is a version
with temples, just as flexible and anti-con-
formist as the pince-nez but available in a
variety of trendy versions, as sunglasses
too. Accessories, such as matching cases
but also belts and handbags, complement
the Seeoo collection. A watch is meanwhile
also part of the range. What all develop-
ments have in common is the striking shape,
which has been protected as a trademark
worldwide. Seeoo therefore only uses this
one design language, which is absolutely
unique in the glasses sector.
Seeoo can be used anywhere, anywhere
people want to read something quickly or
look at something in detail up-close, See-
oo should be available, that‘s the principle.
This applies to motorcyclists who don‘t have
to take off their helmet, to golfers filling out
their score card, to business people reading
their emails on their phone and many others.
Seeoo has already established itself in 18
countries, besides those in Europe also
Japan, the USA and Canada. They want to
become all the rage worldwide with ”Hand-
made in Austria” soon.
The Lasniks won the second Red Dot award
just recently for the latest product, the flat-
test reading glasses in the world. ”Our ideas
come from life,” says Martin Lasnik. And
there are likely to be plenty more ideas that
reinterpret traditional, hand crafted excel-
lence in trendy ways. STOP

WHEN ARE
WE OFF?A HOLIDAY BY THE LAKE IS AN ATTRACTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO THE SEA. NOT JUST BECAUSE THE AREA AROUND IS
USUALLY MUCH GREENER THAN BY THE SEA BUT ANYONE JUMPING INTO A MOUNTAIN LAKE‘S CRYSTAL CLEAR DRIN-
KING WATER IS NOT JUST REFRESHING THEMSELVES BUT ALSO PROTECTING THEIR EYES AND HAIR AND THERE IS
ALMOST NOTHING MORE INVIGORATING THAN A FEW LUNGFULS OF CLEAN MOUNTAIN AIR, EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR
THE PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED DIVE INTO THE COOL, CLEAN WATER...
WOLFGANGSEE & MONDSEE
Photos: Cortisen, Wolfgang Stadler, Shutterstock
The Schafberg mountain in the Salzkam-
mergut region not only separates the Wolf-
gangsee from the Mondsee but both lakes
can be admired from here at the same
time. The challenging climb is definitely
worth it: the turquoise Wolfgangsee nest-
les between the mountains and the Mond-
see sparkles in brilliant blue. STOP
CORTISEN
AM WOLFGANGSEE
Roland Ballner, owner of the Cortisen am Wolf-
gangsee, experienced a wave of outrage in 2005
due to his ”no kids” philosophy, which was unique
back then. Only children aged 12 and over are allo-
wed in his hotel. Ten years later the idea of a child-
free hotel has become totally normal and there is
only ever positive feedback about his hotel on the
banks of Wolfgangsee: his lounge is described as
”cigar heaven” by the Cigar Journal, a trip out with
the hotel‘s own Harley Davidson is called legenda-
ry by Vip Traveller. ”The reporting back then never
did us any harm, in fact quite the opposite,” recalls
Roland Ballner. People in particular who work with
children all day, for example teachers or child ca-
rers, have been booking at Cortisen since then. And
of course parents who want to treat themselves to
a few days away from the children with maximum
relaxation. From the outside the Cortisen embodies
the typical Salzkammergut style with its mullion and
transom design, but guests have entered a very dif-
ferent world at the very latest when they‘re standing
at reception: bright, trendy colours combined with
dark leather sofas reminiscent of the Colonial style.
Ballner: ”My hotel is designed just how I like it. I offer
my guests all the things here that are important to
me on my own holiday.” This personal touch is con-
sistent throughout the hotel and beyond – here the
boss personally drives the motorboat and teaches
his guests how to water ski. And the hotel‘s own
Cortis restaurant, recently awarded with 2 forks
again by the Falstaff Gourmet Club, is only available
to hotel guests, so alongside the countless sporting
opportunities you can also indulge in peace. STOP
